He spun her out, back in, then swung her up… and up… and up… and then dropped her so that her dress almost blew up all the way before he caught her; bringing her down through his legs and then back forward before landed her on her feet. He smiled and pulled her to him so her chest bumped solidly into him, and then his hands dropped low on her backside and he lifted her up so her head was just over his and he looked up at her and grinned.

Gravel

She was almost dizzy, and she laughed as he moved her through the more advanced steps. She knew it! He was teasing her about it all. She laughed again as he lifted her, but it slowly faded as she looked down at him. She stared at him, taking him all in, hands on his shoulders. She whispered her eyes never leaving his, “Computer, delete characters.” One hand traced up his shoulder and came to rest along his jaw, and then she kissed him gently, slowly. Time seemed to pause; it was thorough and full of meaning. The ever present butterflies settled and she sighed and settled against him in his arms. The kiss turned slightly deeper, questioning, waiting for him…

Cara

Her reaction was a pleasant surprise, but as she kissed him he followed her lead and kissed her back, holding her even with him and feeling her against him, their mouths merged, as the stood motionless in the now empty venue.

He held the kiss for a long, long time… tasting her, feeling her with him as they simply expressed what they felt but hadn’t yet said… or perhaps even acknowledged. Finally, he began to slowly lower her to the floor, his lips never leaving hers.

Gravel

Eventually Cara’s feet lightly touched the floor and she stepped closer, unable and unwilling to let go just yet. Eventually, the kiss ended, lingering slowly as they allowed space between them but still close. Cara stared up at him, heart pounding, trying not so successfully to catch her breath. She stretched up and kissed him again, firmly, affectionately, a promise. “Umm…yeah....”

Cara

Gravel smiled as she kissed him. “Yeah… thats about the most I’ve got, too.” he said and took her hands in his and then took a deep breath. “Ok… so? As we have no one here to serve, perhaps I could get us a drink? Or did the removal of everyone serve a… um… ‘purpose’?” and he grinned again.

Gravel

She copied his deep breath and took a half step back, to shift her weight so she wasn’t hanging on to him and embarrass herself when he stepped away towards the bar. “A drink sounds like a good idea. Umm..” wow she was tongue-tied…so much for getting a grip. “So the program doesn’t use the default replicator settings for synthehol. It replicates real alcohol. I have no idea if it’s any good or not, though.” She followed him to the bar and slid into a stool. “Computer resume music playback, without the band.” The music drifted through the room despite the stage being empty.

Cara blushed and then grinned. “It seemed simpler to remove them. At the end of the night the ‘police’ raid the place and we all get chased out side exits to avoid arrest. So now we can enjoy the space wherever the night goes.” She glanced up at him, watching him. “For any other purpose one of our quarters would be better.” She was willing to enjoy the ride, but for the other that required making the decision, leaving, and having to think about it, to be sure, along the way.

Cara

Mardusk spent a moment looking around behind the bar in silence, until he came up with the ingredients for the drink he had in mind. He took bourbon, spicy ginger beer, lime juice, and shook it all together before pouring it in copper mugs and garnishing it with a lime wedge and a cherry. He slid a mug to her and said “One of our quarters, huh?” and he took a drink, his eyes never leaving hers. He licked his lips and then said while staring into his mug “Think we are ready for that? I mean… I don’t want you to wake up next to me and think ‘Oh hell what did I do.’ or anything.”

Gravel

Cara picked up the mug and drank a little faster than she should have. She was hot, thirsty, and flustered, but in a good way. She met his gaze, still smiling but not teasing. Her own gaze thoughtful but affectionate. She didn’t say that wouldn’t happen even though she felt that scenario was so slim as to be non-existent; that would be insulting to them both and the fact they were so incredibly new to each other. “Who’s to say you wouldn’t wake up next to me and go ‘aw hell that’s more than I bargained for and I want none of it’ or something? I don’t know if we are ready or not. I do know that if we are now, never, or later, the holodeck isn’t the place.” Then she grinned and leaned forward across the bar, placing her hand over his. “But we both know, we’ve both thought about it.” And she winked at him.

Cara

Maedusk crossed his arms on the bar and leaned towards her. “Cards on the table…” and he grinned at her. “First, that’d never happen because I want all of what you are and have; and I’m comfortable with that bargain. Two, the holodeck is most definitely not the place for it because if we started I’m pretty sure that we’ll both be calling out the next day. And last… I knew I had. And I suspected… or maybe hoped?… but thanks for confirming it for me.” and he winked at her and smiled.

Gravel

“I am all for that bargain. You’re welcome for the confirmation.” She lifted her glass and looked at him over the rim, “My next day off is in 3 days.” She took a drink then. “You want to dance some more or do you have something else you want to do?”

Cara

Gravel smiled and shook his head. “You are the queen of leading statements, you know that?” and he took a drink. “Well, I’d be down with more dancing if ya want. I’d be down with… something else, too. But I was serious. When we go there? We’re gonna need at least twenty four uninterrupted hours. Well, at least I will.” and he leaned close to her.

“Because I plan on using every second of that time to ensuring that you don’t wake up regretting anything.” and he kissed her. Not like a date… but like someone making an unmistakable offer.

Gravel

Hot and cold chills rushed in waves over her. “I won’t regret anything.” She kissed him back. He was making an offer and she was obviously accepting. She pulled back after a prolonged moment. “So I’ll see you after shift night after tomorrow.” She took another drink from the mug then got up, taking his hands and moving through the steps to the rhythm he set.

Cara

And just like that, they were at that point. “Yep.” he said and moved with her. He spun her gently out, then back in and dipped her backwards. “Your place or mine?” he asked and brought her up and kept moving.

Gravel

It’s said (other than in the privacy of your own quarters) that there is nothing more intimate between two people than to dance. And for Cara it felt very true as Gravel supported her through the dip, each turn and spin, as they moved through each missed step as if it was part of their rhythm. For the first time since he entered the turbolift with her that first time, Cara actually considered his sheer size. She didn’t exactly have chairs or other furniture to accommodate. “Where ever you feel most comfortable. I have no preference.” As he lifted his arm she turned in and then on the next, 1..2..3.&.4..5.&.6.&.7.&.8, count she turned back out. With each the space between them was less, was closer, and their rhythm became smoother.

Cara

“Well…” 1 - 2 & 3… “… if we are planning…” 4…5 & 6 & 7 & 8, “… to do what I think-” stumble stumble 3… 4… 5…”- we are talking about…” and he sighed heavily and then stopped, lifted her high and fast, throwing her legs out behind her and then brought her down faster, swinger her towards him so her legs wrapped around his waist. He bent over, lowering her upper half towards the floor.

“Then how about my place if you are okay letting me wear just your hair for a while?” and he grinned at her and licked his lips.

Gravel

He was making her breathless, and not just with the dancing. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he lowered her to the floor. She was oddly relaxed, nervous, and utterly still at the same time. She blushed, Orions weren’t telepathic were they? Because she’d had a very similar thought earlier that day. Her eyes dropped to his mouth and then returned to his amazing green eyes as she nodded agreement. “Now see that’s all I thought I was wearin’. I suppose I could just shave my head and wear yer hat instead.”
