side sim - Mischief & Mayhem

Posted Oct. 10, 2021, 5:07 p.m. by Lieutenant Cara Esmé O’Farrell (Counselor / Education Specialist) (Jennifer Ward)

Well it might not be a hit, but Cara, along with the rest of her staff, had put a lot of effort into the Halloween party the captain had requested. The schools had put together age appropriate haunted houses in the school rooms: Decks 15 (nursery), 16 (elementary), 23 (middle school) and 24 (high school). Those decks were also designated throughout for the same ages for trick or treating in the family quarters areas, and any other officers who wanted to join in the fun.

Deck 21, being an all purpose area had been completely turned into a gigantic haunted house for the adult civilian and crew. The recreation hall was filled with thematic games like bobbing for apples, shoot the skeleton (with old fashioned nerf guns, NOT phasers), ghoulish mystery box (stick your hand in the box and try to guess what’s inside), mummy wrap (using bandages from sickbay), and other assorted Halloween carnival games.

Holodeck two had a murder mystery programmed, and 17/18 lounge was a buffet of gross and fun themed foods. The observation deck was different. No fun or games here, no candy or other treats or tricks. The crew had been invited to come and leave photos, mementoes, or keep sakes of those they had lost, part of the Atlantis crew or not. And here, with the stars and heavens easily glimpsed through the large view ports, anyone could come to share memories, quietly remember, or give their respects.

(OOC: Okay so I am NOT good at the whole Halloween thing. Please feel free to elaborate on what is here, or create your own ideas, just have fun with it!)
