Captain Kelly Bordeaux looked out the viewport into space. She was never tired of its dark beauty. Space was like a sea but instead of sharp reefs and whirlpools, there were asteroid fields and ion storms. These were just as deadly as anything on the actual ocean and made exploration fun and exciting. She shifted in her captain’s seat to stretch her stiff muscles. “Delta shift isn’t too bad for a change,” she thought silently as she took a deep drink of her coffee and stared at the clock reading 0300 hours. Normally she lets some junior officer take this shift. They loved getting “time in the chair” as Kelly called it and this shift was typically the quietest. The problem was junior officers tended to be a bit more uncomfortable and formal around her. It made sense. They didn’t have the big names of Mardusk, Nash, Drayke, Garinder’Jen th’Jir, or Odinson sitting in the chair but less senior officers like Rios, Benton, and Smith watching over their shoulder. Kelly tried to crack a few jokes and put them at ease but it was met with side glances and nervous chuckles. She tried to keep things casual on her ship using last names and first ones when appropriate instead of rank. For some, this took a while to get used to. Maybe she would have to assign more senior crew to these shifts. Each shift ran perfectly but all shifts should run as if they were a seamless team with everyone feeling at ease no matter who sat where.

Taking a long draw on her coffee, Kelly tried to engage them again in the light-hearted banter that typically accompanied long, boring shifts when consols were manned by her senior staff. “If this mysterious ship is not detected in the next 48 hours I’m declaring it a hallucination by command and redirecting the Altantis to some hot, sunny, tropical world for shore leave,” Kelly joked but the response from the crew is only more silence and just a few fleeting glances. God, these guys need to get a little life, she mused silently and made a mental note to place them on the first round for shore leave. Maybe she will go with them this time. Spend some time with someone other than her core group. Kelly let her mind drift to all the possibilities of a vacation. Bored, Kelly pulled up the alien transmission again on her PADD that brought the Atlantis here.

ARRIVE LOCATION 932.8604. WE ARE FRIENDS. WE HAVE SOMETHING VITAL TO THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF THE FEDERATION. SEND THE ATLANTIS TO TAKE DELIVERY OF THE PACKAGE. IAN BORDEAUX REQUIRED FOR EXCHANGE. ALL RESTS ON YOUR DESIRE FOR FIRST CONTACT AND PEACE.

The message is vague enough to spark interest but specific enough to raise eyebrows. With all the excitement from their last trip into the unknown, most in command figured it was someone they had met on their last venture to the unknown. Kelly had taken bets with some of the senior staff on which alien race was contacting them. Until someone contacted them though, the pot was still unclaimed. Kelly settled back in her command chair tracing the events in her mind that had gotten them here. They were finishing loading supplies and tying up loose ends when the message was detected by StarBase 11. No date was sent telling them when to arrive at the coordinates until someone in communications discovered the message was sent on a repeating feedback loop. The signal degradation from the loop calculated that it was received only two days ago. Star Fleet had ordered the Atlantis to wait a week at 932.8604 before it would be relieved by another ship. Kelly had given it three days already. If something did not happen in the next four, she was going to go out of her mind with boredom.

BEACON OF HOPE STAR YACHT

“Can you do this pet,” Zala Tsu turned to face Jessa. The time had come. They would be on the alien ship in minutes. Zala Tsu needed to know she could handle her end of the mission. “It is all riding on you pet. Trillions upon trillions of species need the Prism for their survival. These people here are not our friends. You must be wary. If you do not fulfill your end of the mission,” Zala Tsu let a hard stare fall on Jessa though a smile covers her face.

Jessa’s heart pounded in her chest. She has been in a constant state of anxiety since departing for the mission. Ten minutes after leaving Xetis, Jessa began regretting her decision. A day into the journey Jessa toyed with the idea of trying to contact home but they watched her so carefully. Two weeks into the journey Jessa began to believe that maybe they were traveling to another galaxy. She has never heard of this but the other species claimed it was possible so why couldn’t it be. Between weeks two and three Jessa knew her three companions were not of the Divine but she clung to the silly notion it was war stress. By now Jessa had enough of the implied threats she had received throughout the journey. “Yes,” she snapped standing taller. “I know my job and I am capable of doing it. That is why you brought me is it not.”

Rogan glared at Da-Unka. Jessa and her precious family are strong-willed and not easily controlled but she should know her place in front of the Elders. Maybe they needed to put an ounce of fear into their youngest companion. “They will kill you if they find out your true purpose there. You are not special and mean nothing to them,” Rogan’s words were like a stab wound to Jessa’s heart but she was good at playing self-confident and assured when it served her. “Remember the plan. We are refugees looking for a home. That should get us on board until you find it.”

“And you are positive this ship has it,” Jessa asked skeptically. For years people had searched for the Prism. How they had discovered it was here, still confused Jessa but she needed it almost more desperately than the Elders did.

Zala Tsu sensed Jessa’s trepidation increase. “Pet,” she walked to Jessa tracing fingertips down her body from shoulder to hand causing Jessa to feel a wave of revulsion course through her. She hated it when Zala touched her. It is cold and jarring like a thousand needles of ice piercing her skin. “He is very cunning, this Captain of the USS Atlantis. He was able to steal the Prism years ago from your mother when she came in peace. He will spin sweet words that he loved your mother but he and his kind drove her from this place. Hunted her like an animal until she was found battered and broken, half-dead by the hands of the Federation.” Zala Tsu clung to the details that would make Jessa furious and not waver in her resolve or the mission. “They are not like us here. They kill those that do not conform whereas we embrace them. They fear what they do not know and destroy it instead of learning the gifts life offers. Mind what you have learned,” she whispered in Jessa’s ear causing gooseflesh to rise on her arms. “He will try to force the truth from you of the mission. He will drug you and your food to make you psychologically willing to share but you must resist it all. Take nothing from them no matter how desperate you feel. They will use everything and anything to cloud your mind. Do not fall for it. Do not trust them but play along with each falsehood they spill. You are Divine.” Zala looked at Jessa knowing how motivating not only her speech but hunger and thirst could be. They need to be gone in a week and hunger is very motivating no matter what species you are. “

“I get it. I can do it,” Jessa said walking away from the companions crowding around her. She hated being this close to them. Their fear and anxiety over her safety feel cold and heavy. She wished they could relax and project the love and warmth Jessa always felt around other Divine but until the mission was complete, she would have to tolerate them. Sitting at a small console in the back of the room Jessa waited to board the shuttle and begin the mission.
Rogan watched Zala move to the drive station preparing to exit the hyper tunnel and into Federation space. “And when she finds out the truth?” Rogan whispered in Zala Tsu’s ear as she made the necessary adjustments to enter real space.

“She will be angry and scared. She will lash out. With each word they utter, our story becomes stronger and stronger. Their truths will validate our lies,” Zala Tsu purred confidently as she ran her fingertips down his cheek. “And if she doesn’t believe us and accepts the truth…she will lose her home,” Zala Tsu’s tone turned frigid. “We will just have to make sure she knows we are only way back to everything she knows and loves. Jessa has no option but to follow our directions. The need to save her mother will never be undermined. Jessa might be a reckless, free-willed child but she understands what is at stake.”

Dropping into the seat next to her, Rogan exited the hyper tunnel. The ship bucked and creaked loud enough for him to glance about as if waiting for the walls to decompress. Even he wasn’t sure they would survive re-entry using the Ratakan portal coupled with hyper tunnels but somehow they had. Entering real space, the viewport was filled with countless alien stars. Jessa looked out feeling a wave of dread and fear. Not one star could she place. Not one a map to something familiar.

Jessa and the Elders

BRIDGE OF THE USS ATLANTIS

“Captain. I have detected an anomaly off the port bow,” Ensign Edwards said nervously and then stopped. Nothing ever happened on the graveyard shift let alone with the Captain looking over his shoulder. Right now he would gladly give up his console to anyone with more pips on their collar than he was wearing.
“What kind of anomaly,” Kelly asked as she took another drink of her coffee. Her felt a slight twinge of annoyance. Alpha shift would already be spouting off the size, shape, and composition of the anomaly instead of having to be spoon-fed what to do or say.

The anomaly, which started as a swirling coalescence of light suddenly shrunk into a pinpoint before exploding in a huge energy burst. The build-up of energy sent shock waves out in all directions one of which slammed into the port bow rocking the Atlantis slightly. The front viewport filling with blue and white light so blinding that anyone looking directly at it was now seeing spots. Kelly blinked her eyes and immediately began to bark orders. “What the hell was that? Damage report? All stations.”

“I have detected a small ship off the port bow. It… It appeared out of nowhere Ma’am. It is of an unknown design with an unknown energy signature. The energy wave had dissipated and there appears to be nothing left of it. No residual energy. Nothing” gasped Ensign Edwards. “It is running with shields up.”
“Calm down Ensign and raise our shields,” she ordered. It was no coincidence that the anomaly and energy waved happened at the exact spot the Atlantis had been told to wait. The question was why such a dramatic arrival and who were they. Not getting the answers, Kelly needed she moved quickly to Edwards station.

“The ship is hailing us, Captain,” remarked Lt. Barbara Sanders from communications. Kelly looked up seeing for the first time the small ship sitting just to the left of the screen. It was beautifully sleek in its design. Like a sliver of liquid mercury about 50-60 meters in length with two engines and possibly two weapons ports.

“Open a comm line Lt, and order senior staff to the bridge” she ordered sitting straight in her chair. It was not that she didn’t trust this command staff, but something in her gut told Kelly she needed the A team.

Kelly Bordeaux

A moment later, the turbolift doors parted and Odinson stepped onto the bridge and moved directly to the tactical station. “Can’t say I’m a big fan of the your new alarm system, Captain. It was a good thing I was already awake or that jolt would have surely knocked me out of bed. What have we got?”

As he sat down, his hands began flying over the console trying to get readings from the ship on the viewscreen.

Odinson (CIO)

“A ship off our bow that I can’t make the design of,” Kelly enlarged the image of the craft on the main view screen from her chair. We didn’t get any readings of a weapon build-up so I think the anomaly came from them leaving warp or subspace,” she surmised.

Already seeing the A Team entering the bridge, the Delta shift knew its time was numbered. “The anomaly occurred point oh oh three seconds before the ship arrived on the sensors. Readings are indicating it is similar to a type four quantum singularity but without the temporal distortions? Best hypothesis is shockwave came from the ship exiting whatever method they use to power their ship we are also getting some readings of nuclear propulsion,” the ensign tried to relay what made no sense. “It’s like they used two separate methods to get here.” The ensign wanted to sound smart but this was way out of his league and experience.

The turbolift doors slid open and a shoulder-first form emerged from the almost-cramped (for him) space and Mardusk, the giant Orion Security Chief walked onto the bridge. Eyes narrowed at the view screen as he moved to the Security and Tactical station. “Man, I hope they brought coffee, whoever ‘they’ are. Rude to wake people up and not bring coffee.” He patted the Petty Officer on the shoulder and they stepped to the side, quietly briefing the Security Chief on the arrival.

Mardusk, CoS

Stepping off the turbolift behind Mardusk, Cara glanced at the screen, “Ach, someone needs ta tell them that trippin’ over ya dance partner isna the way ta sweep a girl off her feet.” Cara moved down around the railing and took a seat to the left of the captain and flipped up the console. Having no idea who there visitors were, the most useful thing she could do at the moment was link up to sickbay and keep track of casualties.

O’Farrell, CNS

Evrilla connected to Cara, having elected to remain in Sickbay. “Good morning Lieutenant O’Farrell. What’s happening?” She had already been in Sickbay, trying to get to know the assorted officers she now worked with. As soon as the alert went out, there had been a decided increase in the busy hum, but now there was just an uneasy silence as sickbay waited to hear that there would be patients.
-Evrilla, CMO

“Good mornin’ Dr Evrilla. Not sure yet, but if I had to wager that shock we felt has somethin’ ta do with the shiny silver ship on the screen. Small, but apparently arrived with a bang. We’re waitin’ on a com request. Any causalties or injuries reported?” Cara was sure to keep her conversation quiet and non distracting. She knew that medical was often the last to be informed of what was going on. Nature of the job, since the CMO’s place wasn’t on the bridge during red alerts, but in sickbay.
O’Farrell, CNS

River was in marine country when the alert sounded and shot up from her bed. racing across the corridor to her office she passed NE RSM Qrow and told him to wake all the marines, just in case. once she was in her office she linked up with the bridge and monitored the situation. Part of her wanted to rush to the bridge, but she knew she would only get a bunch of grief for it, and she didn’t want to deal with it especially this month.

She waited to see what her orders where, probably to do nothing as usual, security would handle it, but it was, what it was. She knew that if the captain wanted her she would call her to the bridge. In the mean time she would just monitor the situation.

Lieut Styxx (Marine OIC)

On the Bridge, Mardusk pressed the comms and said =/\= Hey Styxx, if you are done getting your beauty sleep, maybe you want to put on some pants and come take a look at this ship? Never seen anything like it. Shake your tail feathers, Sleeping Beauty. =/\=

Mardusk, CoS

River rolled her eyes =^= Already up Sir. I’ve already keyed my office console to the bridge for monitoring. Just wasn’t sure where i was wanted, after all my place isn’t on the bridge Sir=^= Came River’s reply she spoke with a respectful yet strained tone

=^= However since you’ve said Sir. I’m on my way up=^= she said as she started to walk to the turbo lift

Seconds later River was on the bridge. Not sure where to stand she simply stood at the back and looked at the ship on the viewer. A ship appearing out of nowhere was a huge read flag for river and she knew it was the same for the rest of the crew. However River was more anxious the last time a ship appeared out of nowhere it triggered the worst time of her life. She was keen to make sure that didn’t happen again.

Lieut Styxx (Marine OIC)

Cara glanced back at the arriving marine commander and waved her down to the spare seat next to her. That way Styxx could actually have access to the console and see the readings herself rather than waiting for people to call out the information.

Jen was wakened by the call. His ‘old’ profession had had him develop a ‘quick wake’ habit. What boggled his antennae was that it was the Captain who had made the call at that hour. What was she doing up? Was this a fire drill? Why was she ‘waiting up’ for this mystery ship to arrive? More than not it was some courier ship giving them a test of some kind. She was going to want some serious coffee. Kicking out of the bed he padded instead to the console in his quarters and keyed in the last few minutes of activity. It was there that he reviewed the sudden appearance of this mysterious ship. He supposed that was a good reason to wake everyone up. He rubbed his neck and rotated it; somewhere in there he woke with a kink. Stretching at that point he reached for his uniform. Nobody was shooting at them for a change.

He arrived some minutes later with a large tray of favored ‘morning drinks’ that the replicator indicated where what the bridge crew mostly had, along with what the current delta shift drank, in the volume that they typically had. For Mardusk, that was .. substantial. Glancing at the viewscreen he noted that nothing had really changed with it’s position since he saw it from his quarters.

“Coffee,” he announced, moving about the bridge dispensing them.

“Why do I get the girl coffee,” she cast a glance at Mardusk’s cup which was clearly larger than hers. The comparison in Kelly’s mind was a soda can compared to a gallon jug.

“Are they talking?” he asked, gesturing to the screen.
- Jen, XO

Cara took the cup with a smile and “Thanks” to the XO. She was pleasantly surprised that it was green tea and not coffee. She turned her attention to the screen to see what their visitors had to say.

River took a cup “Thank you Sir” she said as she watched the rest of the bridge.

“Yes. On-screen,” Kelly announced taking a sip of her drink. A small nod by Sanders let Kelly know they had established contact with the ship. “This is Captain Bordeaux of the USS Atlantis we…”

“You are not Captain Bordeaux. Why are you trying to deceive us when we come in peace?” Zala Tsu’s melodic voice held a hint of anger behind it even if the cadence was still held the purring quality. “We are not here for games or to talk to lackies or second-tiered officers. If you are not Captain Ian Bordeaux we will wait until you can produce him. We will await your transmission when you accomplish this.” The threat now hung heavier in the voice filling the bridge. The sensual nature had been replaced by a more deadly tone. As if to punctuate this fact the audio-only hail cut off from the ship.

“Oh… early, rude, AND unpleasant. It’s the trifecta of a$$holes.” Mardusk said.

“Did she just call you a lackie and did she hang up on us,” Kelly raised an eyebrow at her executive officer. Whoever was on the other end of the call either didn’t understand rank and protocol on a Starfleet ship.

“Lt. Sanders re-establish a comm with Ms. Tsu,” Kelly announced, “and why don’t we have visuals?” Already Kelly was becoming irritated with this encounter. She hated first contacts with a passion and this one was turning out to be a doozey.

Nervously Lt. Sanders replied, “They don’t appear to have the ability to send visuals. At least not the ones we can detect. They can send audio only.”

Between security, the marines, and intelligence, one of her officers had to have the answer to her next question. Glancing around the room briefly Kelly announced, “who doesn’t have the ability to send visuals but is able to pop in and out of real space like a gopher from the Midwest? Anyone,” Kelly asked. Whether it was not enough coffee or still the fact she was irked by the way the ship had addressed her and her staff, Kelly could not think of a race that was lacking one of the most basic forms of communication.

“Nobody. Unless they don’t want them.”

River thought for a second “You said they just appeared, maybe the ship is an experiment on a new form of travel or stealth tech. Maybe whatever they use to move or hide takes up so much power and space. The only think they could fit in was audio only. However they could just be hiding what their actually up to” she said simply, not realy sure f it was possible. she wasn’t an engineer .

“Might explain the concussion wave that hit us.” Styxx’s explanation was as good as anyone’s at this point. Right now they were looking for working hypotheses to solve a problem. Styxx provided the first one. Until they came up with something different or better, Styxx’s theory would be problem solved.

BEACON OF HOPE STAR YACHT

“See pet,” Zala turned her attention on Jessa in the back. “Liars and deceivers. They will play mind games and withhold the truth. Do not let your youth and inexperience permit the slaughter of untold billions by succumbing to their falsehoods and trickery.” There was no reason to single out Jessa except to instill a sense of fear and trepidation. She was the weakest link in the foursome but also the key to the success of the mission.

Rogan, clearly not interested in badgering Jessa as Zala Tsu seemed to relish in approached the turn of events more like a riddle than a dilemma. “Why would they send an imposter as the Captain when we would instantly see through the ruse?”

Finding a woman in the seat she thought would be occupied by the man they were looking for was troubling but inconsequential. Nothing would stop them from completing the mission.

“They are hailing us,” Da-Unka announced from his station already re-establishing communications with the ship before them. Zala allowed an icy gaze to settle heavily on Jessa before turning back around in her seat to address the situation.

“Regardless of their ruse we will see this through and complete what is needed to be done. Won’t we pet,” Zala Tsu stated confidently plastering a smile on her face even though no one could see it yet. “Connect us.”

BRIDGE OF THE USS ATLANTIS

Any scans of the ship would show that it’s shields did not appear to deflect but absorb energy much like a black hole. This might be due to the possible quantum singularity engine readings that were produced when the ship appeared. A more in-depth scan would allow the crew of the Atlantis to notice several things. One was that the ship did not appear to have phasers but laser-style weapons. Again another antiquated technology for a race that seemed to have far more complex modes of travel. It would also show stores of supplies like food and water that were on the low side for its four companions. Scans would also note that the four individuals on the alien vessel did not have weapons or an armory on the ship. For all intents and purposes, the ship appeared to come in peace as the message stated which Starfleet had received about its arrival. The only thing that was off from the picture-perfect peace mission was the individuals on it. Any counselor would note that they seemed to be hiding something or attempting to present a false impression of thier true character even though they had spoken only a few sentences up to this point.

Kelly Bordeaux

Cara listened to the by play and then sat back in her seat. “She’s lying, she has somethin’ ta hide. Whoever she presents themselves ta be, they are not.”

O’Farrell, CNS

No. you don’t say River thought to herself dryly.

Lieut Styxx (Marine OIC)

Kelly’s jaw tightened some. It was rare she did not completely fill in her crew to the details of all assignments. Much like Cara just said, secrets were things you lied about and hid from others generally. Until the ship demanded to speak to her husband as Captain of the ship, Kelly was inclined to think the people were just nervous nellies given the size of the Atlantis compared to the ship they arrived in out of nowhere. Now it was just a little too convenient that Admiral Perkins called thirty minutes before the ship arrived, pulling Ian out of bed and into a closed-door meeting. Maybe this was just a drill to test the crew? Maybe it was a real event’ Kelly didn’t put anything past Perkins if he saw an angle to make himself get ahead. “Cara does Ms. Tsu’s voice patterns match any known races of cultures in our database?” The orders from Starfleet stated this was a first contact situation but if it was a drill, then it wouldn’t be a first contact and maybe the counselor could prove it.

Kelly tapped another message into the PaDD for Ian which again was returned with a Do not Disturb message as a response. In about five seconds, she was going to start blowing up Ian’s personal communication with so many messages people would start to wonder what exactly was in his pocket and on vibrating mode.

Cara requested the recorded play back of the interaction and ran it through the universal translator requesting analysis of accents, then she ran it through a linguistic and then a phonological algorithm looking for any matches or near matches. On a personal level she nothing stood out to her to make her narrow her search.

Unfortunately, when results were scanned it would show that while they seemed to speak English the slight nuances of Zala Tsu’s speech patterns were not identified with the phonological or linguistical markers of any specific language or culture in the Federation.

Kelly Bordeaux

The results came back and Cara shook her head, “Nae Captain. The computer donna have any matches ta her speech patterns or rhythms.”

O’Farrell, CNS

Mardusk, CoS

“Ma’am,” Lt. Sanders interrupted as the comm signal began to blink. “They are ready to open another comm line.”

“Round two. On-Screen,” Kelly snapped sitting a bit straighter in her seat. With each passing moment, Kelly was getting a bad feeling about this situation. Everything felt off. “Vessel off our port bow this is Captain Kelly Bordeaux of the Federation Starfleet vessel USS Atlantis. We arrived here per your instructions. Am I to assume I am speaking with Zala Tsu Captain of your vessel. We can’t get a visual lock on your transmission. Are your comms damaged?” Bordeaux attempted to find out more information from the mystery ship before they hung up again. She also was more than interested to get a peek at the voice filling the bridge.

“Captain, my communication systems are not compatible with yours. We have traveled a long way. If you will just allow me to dock and turn my package over to you I will be on my way,” Zala Tsu stated.

Kelly glanced back at her officers wondering if any of them had something to add or disprove Zala’s claim. If said low enough, the comm call would not transmit it to the guests outside the ship.

Not knowing the correct rank or title, Kelly continued to address the speaker. “Lt. Commander Ian Bordeaux is currently indisposed but we can,”

Hearing the woman’s voice again enraged Zala but she held it back burying her feelings. If they needed to go through this Kelly to get to their target so be it. “If he is..indisposed that is fine we will wait..on board your ship,” Zala’s tone was sensual in its melody but crisp and demanding in its word choice. “Captain Bordeaux it seems we were provided the wrong name as to who our contact would be. Please give me docking coordinates and allow us to land on our ship so we can deliver our package to Ian Bordeaux,” a feminine voice almost purred back. She did not care for the delays or excuses that were going to spill from the Captian’s lips.

“And what is the nature of the cargo you wish to bring aboard my ship?” Bordeaux tightened her initial request. In a lower volume she whispered to Cara and Jen, “they seem rather eager to get aboard the ship don’t they?”

“They seem rather eager ta get their ‘package’ aboard,” Cara whispered back.

“Agreed. Almost too eager which makes me less so to get in onboard sight unseen. The question is why.” Kelly completely agreed with her counselor.

“It will be so much easier to explain face to face Captain. As I previously stated, please give me docking coordinates so that I can transfer the package to your care,” Zala Tsu struggled to maintain a calm quality in her voice. Jessa watched the scene from the back of the shuttle slightly uncomfortable with the way the Elders were trying to force the occupants of the large ship to let them aboard. She had been assured that this ship would welcome them aboard. Instead, it felt like Zala was trying to invade it.

Kelly rolled her eyes glad for once she did not have to maintain her emotions in a neutral visage. Their orders were to receive the individuals that showed up at the coordinates and accept that package but nothing in the orders said how they had to receive them. Kelly cleared her voice not caring if it showed her annoyance with their new guests. “We are unable to dock you at this time. Please lower your shields so that we may beam you aboard.”

Now the silence moved from the bridge of the Atlantis to the bridge of the alien ship. All eyes snapped back to Jessa. The attention felt smothering. “I don’t know,” she mouthed in silence. Jessa knew her companions did not believe her.

“Beam us aboard?” Zala Tsu glanced at Da-Mu-Unka hoping he could shed some light on the Captain’s request. Bria Novar never mentioned beaming.

Kelly glanced around to those on the bridge and made a slicing motion across her neck to mute the line but not disconnect it. “Impressions,” Kelly asked running through scenarios in her head.

Kelly Bordeaux

“I suggest givin’ them ta Dr Evrilla. Beam them directly ta the decontamination unit in sickbay. She can easily keep them there for a couple of days, makin’ sure they wonna ‘infect’ us or vice-versa. In the mean time the ‘package’ can be put in quarantine in the cargo bay. Though considering how hostile she is ta things not going her way and how much she is pushin’ for this package…maybe we beam it out inta space ta make sure it donna explode.” Cara didn’t favor letting the people on board at all, but orders were orders. That didn’t mean they had to be stupid.

O’Farrell, CNS

“Too many others around and we can’t secure it. Once they are secured I do agree what we should have a full medical scan.” Kelly chewed her lip half figuring out what to do with the guests when they arrived and half wondering what was going on in the alien ship.

“Mardusk, Styxx…if we beam them to the auxiliary transporter room on deck twelve can you hold the room if they get fiesty,” Kelly asked her security chief and marine unit commander. The auxiliary transporter room on deck twelve was away from most critical areas of the ship. It also was a bottleneck with only one turbo at the end of the hall.

Kelly Bordeaux

Jen had been quiet. The conversation went in a totally different direction than he had expected or anticipated. “Why would they be asking for Captain Ian Bordeaux?” Something niggled at him. “Have they got the right universe?” That seemed so utterly strange for him to even mouth that, but otherwise why would they have suggested that as though it were a given. And why would they have even thought of her husband as being in charge?
- Jen, XO

“A universe with Ian in charge and me as the diplomatic officer…kinda scary,” she agreed with Jen that whatever was going on was off. “They said their intel was wrong? Could this be some kinda of drill? The last memo I got came from Starfleet Intelligence about where we were to wait for this encounter? It didn’t have anything but what I went over at the last staff meeting about where to go and that we were to treat it like a first contact. It just seems like odd.”

River nodded “Between Marines and security, we can hold the room, the section, the whole deck if need be Ma’am.” she said confidently. She knew her marines were good and she knew security was the same. The only issue was she had no idea who they would be facing and what technology they had. she had been at a disadvantage before and come out on top but she didn’t like it.

Lieut Styxx (Marine OIC)

“Open the line back up,” Kelly said to the comms agent. Once the line was active Kelly cleared her voice announcing she was about to speak. “We are preparing for your arrival. Lower your shields if you wish to come aboard,” Bordeaux requested before snapping off the comm line. She had no doubt they wanted aboard the ship. The Atlantis however was not just going to greet them with open arms and a cup of coffee. Their orders were to receive them but nothing was said about the manner in which they had to do this.

“Lt. Tate beam the occupants from the alien ship directly to transporter room 12 on my mark.”

“Cara get down to the diplomatic suits and inform Lt. Commander Bordeaux of the situation. I don’t care if he is negotiating galactic peace. If the door is locked break it down.”

“Mardusk and Styxx you are with me. Have a marine contingent on the ready and send a full security detachment to transporter room twelve.”

“Odinson see if you can get any intel from your galactic farm boys out of intelligence on this situation. Is this real or just some test.”

“Jen, you have the conn. See if you can figure out anything more about that anomaly and where the ship has come from,” Kelly stated before standing up and heading towards the turbo. “And see if we can get any scans of that ship while I entertain the guests on deck twelve,” she added as an afterthought before the doors slid shut.
