snipThe science officer looked at all the information they had gathered so far as he tried to answer the XO’s question. “Okay so five minutes before the anomaly occurred, there was nothing just the repeating signal that caused Starfleet to send us there. The first reading we got that was different was a flicker of a temporal shift however that only lasted for .03 seconds. Its as if the portable disrupted the space-time continuum but connected two real time events. Sensors also picked up a burst of negative mass that was equal to the positive mass of the ship. We know wormholes can be notoriously unstable so maybe this positive vs. negative mass stabilized the port that got them there. Sensors also detected what seems to be a charged black hole?” The confusion in his voice was only because this was something that was not common in black holes. It was very rare. So rare that maybe instances of it were for a reason. “We also read a time dilation for a fraction of a second that was thirty days ahead of our present time. Since we have not moved ahead in time I can only speculate that the ship coming through the portal caused it due to it speed,” he ran his hands through his hair. “There are also readings which I can only define as exotic materials. All this happened in the exact seconds the ship appeared. As the ship exited the portal is when we were struck with an energy wave. Then everything moved back to regular readings for this part of space. Background cosmic noise and radiation but nothing that anyone would blink and eye at if they weren’t here for the event. What I can’t figure out is if it was a wormhole how did they keep it stable?”

By about the third sentence Jen’s mind started to gel. Well he had asked for it and he got it, setting not on stun. “So magic and fairy dust in short with their appearance. As for your last question perhaps we’ll have a chance to ask them about that. You mentioned black hole. Where was that? We have wormhole potential but are they the same thing in this case? Did they travel through a black hole?” Jen was a soldier. His experience of grand spatial things was miniscule. Everyone has their expertise and this was not his.
- Jen, XO“Your guess is as good as mine. Engineering might have a better clue but I bet we can figure out more if we could actually look at that engine instead of doing armchair physics with it,” the science officer stated at the data as he spoke. All the readings were there to indicate a black hole but now there seemed to be nothing.

The people were on board and, whatever they were going to do and pass off to them would be done. “Is there any kind of chroniton elements here? To suggest when these people came from? Or, alternatively, hints if they were from another parallel universe that was not so parallel?” he was still niggled at their expectation of a different Captain.
- Jen, XO“Good call and that is why you are the XO,” Bill let out a small breathy exhalation. “We have faint traces of Chroniton particles. Think they are using some sort of transwarp conduit,” he asked the XO. “You know instead of just guessing maybe we should ask the people that came through the thing,” Bill asked.
