Jason just arrived at his quarters after his shift. He is wondering what to do after a few minutes he decided he is going to 17 forward and try to meet some of the crew so he makes his way to 17 forward. Arriving there he enters it and goes to the nearest replicator and orders a coffee, he grabs his drink and goes to a table and sits down at it waiting for someone to enter the room that he can talk to.Ensign Jason Maxwell Science
Kelly walked into 17 forward and glanced around the room. She knew a vast majority of the people in the room but not everyone. New transfers always made it complicated to keep up at times. Grabbing a cup of coffee from the bar, she moved across the room to one face that did not seem so familiar. “Am I intruding,” she gestured to the open seat across from Maxwell.

Jason is suprised he was not expecting to meet the captain here. ‘No sir you are not intruding.’

Taking a seat, Kelly took a drink of her coffee and reclined back. “So on break or off duty,” she asked. Small talk was hard at times, especially with new people but one had to start somewhere.

‘I just finished my shift before i came here sir.’

“So what’s your name ensign,” she asked with a smile.

“Hello Jason…Jason Maxwell.” She didn’t bother to introduce herself. Everyone on the ship knew her name and face. “So how are you liking the ship and don’t just give me a bunch of blather about it being the best assignment. I prefer honesty over flattery however if it is the best damn assignment you ever had feel free to speak freely.”

‘I have not seen much of it yet but what i saw i liked.’ Jason said.

“So what haven’t you liked,” she asked the ensign with a smirk. Most people just went with the easy way out and agreed. Kelly preferred people with opinions. Usually it took a little encouragement to get ensigns to speak up fearing it would upset superior officers. Kelly always laughed at that. Ensigns might be younger with less experience but they tended to be more creative and eager. She waited to see what Maxwell would say about improvements to her ship.

‘That is a question i can’t anwser yet i need to see the whole ship first and i do not have a ship to compare it to so maybe i can anwser that question later.’ Jason said.

“Fair enough,” Kelly nodded. “So where are you from,” she asked. While Kelly tended to first learn everyone’s name it did take her some time to learn personal details.
