As she said that the kissing stopped as he pulled back, getting a chance to look directly in her eyes. “Maybe I should get a second condom.” he said we a wide smirk before leaning back in, clearly not caring one way or the other. He felt at ease and peace with Kelly. Ian was someone who worked hard and played hard, but having a lover he was laid back and didn’t try to expect too much but just have fun and enjoy each other made his life so much easier.

“Besides, having a little you running around wouldn’t be the worst thing I can think of,” he said softly in her ear as he nibbled on it before he let go of her hands and gave her a little room to move from being pinned under him.

“Oh yes let’s add child custody to the divorce proceedings and make it a trifecta of marriage, divorce, and co-parenting,” she teased. Still, the idea of having a baby was a hot button for her. Secretly she had always wanted kids but the timing was always off with her and Richard. For years they had tried and went through the peaks and valleys of her wanting one when he didn’t, he wanting one when she didn’t and trying but not succeeding. Now Ian was talking about it or maybe just teasing. Either way, she couldn’t deny she wanted kids but had to accept that it would probably never be in the cards for her, hence the flippant remark.

Finding his hands slowly exploring other regions though it was less about freeing her and more about leverage to explore amble mounds.

Ian paused, she was teasing, and the truth was he was to an extent. He was getting close to 30, she would be closer to 40 once he did. It was the right time if ever there was one to really think of kids. He though never had anyone he loved, Kelly fit him perfectly. In all his years love wasn’t a word he said to anyone. Yet he was willing to throw caution to the wind and bet Kelly was someone he could find a life with. That scared Ian some, he was far to professional at times to take such a risk. Still, he knew he wasn’t going to give her up any time soon.

Felling her come to attention, Ian find himself moving under the covers as it where as he went back kissing down the nape of her neck as he continued finding the spot he knew would have her curl her toes in pleasure.

Bordeaux, Yeoman/Diplomat

A small moan escaped her lips as Ian found the spot again along her neck and jaw working it like a pro while his hands did things that made her dizzy. While they had spent a lot of time learning how to get each other from zero to sixty in under three seconds flat during shore leave, Kelly did find it surprising, Ian used all of his education as a tactile advantage during certain moments. Sure there was the teasing kiss but right now, she knew Ian had set his mind on a task and no matter what anyone ever said about Ian Bordeaux, no one could say he wasn’t a go-getter when he set his mind to accomplishing a task. She had to find a way to distract him or the rest of the day would be shot. It was not a bad way to spend a Saturday but with nothing on her schedule and neither of them on duty for another 18 hours, Kelly needed to get something accomplished besides not leaving her quarters.

“Or maybe I should get some of the paperwork you have flooded me with while you check out that new game of MLB: Federation series. Weren’t you traded to the Vulcan Vultures for three-quarters of a million credits last time you played,” she tried to bring up this weeks gaming passion. For as mature and responsible as her yeoman was, he was like all men, like a teenager when someone brought out the F-Box. Ian had recently gotten the newest version of the popular gaming system sold by IFEA. When he was not on duty or indisposed, you could often find him with a frosty beverage, plunked down on the couch playing one of the hundred games he owned.

Ian stopped as he looked at her, smiling softly. “First, I was traded to the Bajor Prophets, Second I love you Kelly so much, and third… shut up ” he said as he undid his shirt, throwing it across the room leaving her access to his tanned toned chest as he leaned in to finish his sentence. “And get in our bed.” he finished softly as he nibbled on her ear.

Kelly pulled off her shirt and stood up. The time for paperwork was long gone. It was best to complete one task before trying to get to another one. Her lips touched his when suddenly she realized something. “Wait. Whoa whoa whoa,” she said looking up at him. Did you just say love as a noun or a verb,” she looked at him. There was a huge difference in love based on grammar. To love someone as a noun meant a deep feeling of attraction. To love someone as a verb meant to feel a deep romantic or sexual attachment to them. There was no denying there was a chemistry between them. It was apparent the first day they met when she was given the Atlantis and he the promotion to the diplomacy position on her ship. Kelly couldn’t say she didn’t feel the same but up until this moment she hadn’t really thought much past day to day with Ian. She had no reason to think the days would not stretch on to weeks or that weeks would turn to months but using that word did change things up a bit. I love you meant more than ‘hey let’s have some fun playing spin the bottle duo version’ or something whispered playfully and sarcastically to show affection. Ian was using the word in a moment of deep intimacy. His voice did not have that cocky twang to it nor was he following it up with a wink and silly pet name like ‘darlin’, ‘cutie’, or ‘babydoll’. Body language and nonverbal communication were almost as important as words in Ian’s line of work. He knew how to control them and when to let them show. Right now, all Kelly saw was heartfelt sincerity.

“I…” Ian looked at Kelly softly. He wasn’t really sure what to say. It felt right when he said it and he knew damn well he meant it. That scared him as he leaned back and sat on the edge of her desk.

Ian had his face to the ground seeming to look at his feet before looking back up at her. “I mean it, but that means a whole lot of new scary things. I have…” Ian almost seemed to blush as he spoke. His bravado was hard to keep when he was talking about this subject with her.

“I’ve never been in love with anyone else before. Oh I had plenty of girls growing up but.... I don’t know none ever seemed past some plaything. Kel, I don’t know how to handle love.” Confessed Ian as he looked steely back into her eyes.

“I do know if you want, I would love to find how deep this goes, I know you still have to finish your divorce… and we ours” he said as he bit his lip as he got off the edge of the desk.

“You, are so very much worth it. Your crazy seems to fit mine, like a jigsaw piece with those curvy edges.”

Bordeaux, Yeoman/Diplomat

Kelly didn’t speak after Ian. She was too overwhelmed by what he said and the implications behind it. Only one other person had stood before her and said these words. In the end miscommunication and lack of effort on her part, and maybe a bit on his, had made a mess of their happily ever after. Still, Kelly could not say she didn’t want something with Ian. He was less than the distraction she initially planned for him to be on the journey over to the Atlantis and far more than a friend. The area around him was murky. Kelly knew that when she was around him she felt at peace and away from him she wanted to find a reason to be around him. That was the definition of love. To want to spend every waking minute doing nothing with someone.

“Ian,” Kelly said before biting her lip slightly. “I loved you enough to attend erotic cuddling, run the gauntlet of death, and apparently marry you without a moment of hesitation. If we weren’t only two weeks into the Story of Us I would say wait until Monday to worry about the divorce. That being said I guess I should say I love you but instead I think it is more appropriate to say take me to bed or lose me forever Hero.” Kelly pressed her lips to his and kissed him. It was forceful and needy. She pressed her body against his and let her fingertips trail up his well-definitioned back until they reached his shoulders. Pulling him closer to her, Kelly rose on the tip of her toes and deepened the kiss. This was the moments she craved with Ian. She might have taken the moment intially but Ian never sat back and let anything just happen to him. When she pressed into him, he held her tighter. When she deepened the kiss, his hands would go to her hair or the back of her head and held her there until he broke it. It was not so much he wanted to control her but more he seemed to know what she needed and when she had enough. Kelly couldn’t deny she liked the raw energy she found in Ian. She also couldn’t deny she was falling in love with him.

Ian find himself sweeping her off her feet, looking at her he kissed her deeply. It was a cheesy romantic gesture, but right now they were in their honeymoon stage of the relationship and he wanted to be cheesy and romantic. He took her to their bed and laid her down gently as he pressed down as he kissed her neck. Ian wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of how he felt. He knew he needed her more than anything and she was giving herself so willingly, he couldn’t help but give back just as much.

Kelly giggled but kissed him along his jaw, neck and anywhere she could find as he carried her presumably to the bedroom. Logic dictated, as a Vulcan would say, that their relationship was built purely on lust and fulfilling needs. She couldn’t deny that fact but there was also the connection. Ian got her and she was finding a million reasons to love him instead of the thousand logical reasons to end the affair. This brought another few chuckles as she kissed him on the journey to the bedroom. They were no longer have a torrid love affair. According to the Turquois Mountain Spa they were legally married.

Kelly stretched out on the bed and let Ian explore everywhere and anywhere he chose. A few of his spots generated playful laughing while others took her breath away. It was in these moments, with Ian Samuel Bordeaux, Kelly realized how much had been missing from her life. She was happy. She had friends and family but she was lacking a crucial element Ian helped her find: love.

As Ian trekked farther and farther down her body, Kelly bit her lip and tried to control her breathing. It was when his hand touched her knee, Kelly sat straight up. “Hey, cowboy,” she said looking at him. “If that document is legal and we are married. Is this my honeymoon night,” she gave him a smile that involved raking her teeth over her bottom lip. The stress of the current situation was out of her mind. Maybe tonight she would have a little bit of fun with the Mr. and Mrs. thing.

Captain Kelly Shultz

“Oh, you do have a good point.” he said with a devilish smile as as he looked at her, taking in the glow she seemed to have as he wondered where she was going. “What are you wanting first, I mean tonight we party, tomorrow we divorce.” he said with a wink as he wondered just what fun she might have in store for them tonight. “Should I get the rope?”

Bordeaux, Yeoman/Diplomat

“Well that depends,” Kelly shrugged. “Are we an old couple that after years of dating decided to tie the knot? Are we a one night stand that got drunk and went to Vegas? Are we a couple who waited our entire lives for this night and not quite sure what to do? Are we two dumb sch nicks that were lucky enough to find each other in this galactic haystack ” Kelly posed several scenarios waggling her eyebrows.

Captain Kelly Shultz

“I am leaning to the last… it feels more right than the others, and we can easily become the first if we keep up the pace.” he said as he leaned in kissing her deeper as he began to kiss her further down her torso. He came close to the danger zone, before crossing over and continuing the vigorous kissing down a valley he loved to tread in, deciding he didn’t need to come up for breath for awhile.

After fifteen minutes of Kelly losing the ability to coherently string any words together that were not adjectives or started with the letters F, G, or Y , Kelly regained the power of intelligible speech. “Okay you are definitely not not the guy who doesn’t know what to do,” she kissed him long and slow.

“I love you Ian,” she said letting the only words that needed to be spoken finally be said as she kissed him slowly. Now was not the time for taunting and teasing. They had done that. For hours it seemed but also for only just a moment. Time blurred for her when they were tangled up in each other’s arms. “God I love you,” she laid back on the pillow closing her eyes.

Kelly didn’t think anymore. She didn’t want to. She was in love with Ian and exactly where she wanted to be. Tomorrow they would worry about lawyers and annulments. Tonight she would cuddle up with him and sleep soundly enjoying her first and last night as Mrs. Ian Bordeaux.

Night went on as their bodies became one in a blissful night of love and passion. The two had issues to work out, no one would know how they got caught up in such a mess but Ian felt at peace as he saw Kelly slip into a passion induced coma in his arms. As eyelids fell heavy and morning crept up Ian felt himself waking, his mind a haze as he got back to reality.

Ian could feel the heat of Kelly next to him as he woke, his mind flooding and beginning to remember all that they said and did. Looking over at her Ian wondered how much they made a mistake rushing. Ian knew he loved her, and part of him truly loved the idea of being married and kids with her. This though was only the beginning for them.

Don’t be awake… Ian said to himself as he tried to slide out from the bed. He needed time, time to process everything. He wanted to move forward with her, and he wanted what they had now, but not now. Or did he want it now? He couldn’t make up his mind and if he smelled her perfume in their bed for one more moment he may break down and do something worse.

Oh god Kelly. Okay stay loose and keep your breathing rhythmic. Just like they taught you in survival school. If they think are you unconscious they will move on to someone else. Chicken butt way out of this but you need to figure out what to say to him besides, ‘hey that twist thing you did last night was amazing” Herman Hornsby was right when he said you would never realize how handy the opossum maneuver would be one day, Kelly’s mind raced as she worked on pretending she was asleep. It was not that she didn’t want to wake up, tuck the blankets around her and ask Ian if he was getting them coffee. It was that Kelly needed time to think. Nothing they had done over the past nine months, including the shotgun nuptials, felt inherently wrong. It honestly felt right but they were not a pair of nineteen-year-old kids in the Academy with stars in their eyes and a future open to anything. She and Ian were adults with real adult responsibilities that went far past did they click on a romantic level. She had her career and his to think about. Tongues would wag and someone sometime would see a decision she made based on her heart rather than her head. That is just what happened when you were in a floating tin Noah’s Ark. Was she ready to try and balance not just silly flirtations and the job but real love for someone else?

Then there were her parents, his parents and the backlash of her mom claiming Ian was looking for a fast track to the command seat and his mom claiming Kelly was just looking for a younger boy toy. The real implications of their marriage made her head hurt.

Edging from the bed, Ian snuck out hoping to talk to someone else, someone who knew him better than anyone he could think of.

Bordeaux, Yeoman/Diplomat

Please close the door so you won’t wake me. Please close the door so you won’t wake me. Come on Ian. You are a nice guy. Nice guys do that. It will also give me a chance to prep before you come back. You are like a damn cat sometimes, Kelly continued to try and will events to turn out the way she needed them too. When she heard the door woosh shut, she let out the breath she was holding and rolled onto her back. For the first moment ever in their relationship Kelly first the first twinge of regret. Smelling his cologne on the pillow next to her, she could no longer think about families and ships and water cooler talk. All she could think about was how happy she would have been if they had done this right.
