Lera laughed and punched his arm. “MAR!” Shaking her head, she leaned on the bar and had another sip of her drink. “Remind me to ‘not’ let you decorate my place.” She laughed and shook her head again. “Can’t take you anywhere,” she laughed again.

Big Mike

Mardusk leaned over and kissed Lera on the cheek and smiled and said “I would use a lot less blood and vomit for you.” and the laughed. He kept the Andorian in his peripheral vision, and noted the antennae movements and his overall bearing. That, coupled with Mike’s gesture towards him, made Mardusk sigh a bit and e said “Meh, might as well.” He leaned back past Lera and waved at the newcomer and then yelled at him “You gonna come drink with us or what?”

Mardusk, CoS

Subtle as a brick, Jen thought, though he was observant enough to see that Jen was wondering. He couldn’t easily turn down that invitation. Sliding off the stool with the Ollie in hand he walked over with an easy gait. The amount of things posted up on .. everything .. was not precisely helping his equilibrium. It was like a battlefield from a printer’s shop. “Jen,” he said by way of introduction to both Lera and Mardusk. “Hire a decorator for this place?” He asked, one lip curled up, evidently humored.
Jen

Lera laughed. “Mmmmm how considerate of you.” When he called over the other man, she nodded and patted the chair on the opposite side of her from where Mar was.

Dressed down in his civilian attire of a pair of blue jeans and buttoned-down white shirt and a pair of light brown leather shoes. Olly, with his back up against the wall and a leg propped behind him, waiting for his entourage of Kelly and Ian Bordeaux who after having seen the news bulletin about the bar opening had immediately invited them both, a chance to meet Kelly’s better half and get to know him. However, they were already running late and had been considering doing a site to site transporter whether they were ready or not, Ollys more mischievous side thought the idea of seeing Kelly’s husband running around in his boxers and socks rather amusing.

Lera nodded to the man and smiled. “I’m Auleraine. This is Chief Mardusk. Welcome to Mike’s.” She laughed as he mentioned the decorator. “Actually the patrons decorate.” She nodded to the crate in the corner still full of a ton of stickers. “Everyone can put them up wherever they want, apparently. My idea, honestly. But that’s cause I didn’t want to do it myself after I installed the music box.” She laughed and took a sip of her beer.

Mardusk eyed the Andorian and said “I know who are. You settling in ok?” It was a cardinal rule… no rank and no work in the bar. But that didnt mean one couldn’t acknowledge a new arrival to the ship.

Mardusk

Revna had scene the notice about a bar opening. She was eager to go and mingle with the other crew members. She dressed down, a long cotton dress with short capped sleevers in hunger green. Revna was proud of her heritage and it showed in the delicate hand stitched design on the cuffs and yoke of her dress, one of her many hobbies. She stepped to the side of the door as she entered, taking in the room, the music, and the people. Several people were taking…stickers? out of a box and putting them on the wall. She thought that was an amzingly fun idea and walked over. She made pleasent small talk with the other patrons looking through the crate of stickers. She saw one that caught her eyes and took it. She looked around the room and found a spot on the far wall. She made her way in that direction. She used a chair to give herself a boost and jumped up slapping it to the wall. She looked up and happy with her “work” turned and made her way to the bar.

She waited for the bar tender, “Viking Bloud Mead, please.”

The big man behind the bar merely nodded and an arm went under the bar and came up with a dark brown clay bottle and a silver tankard. He brought it over, set the tankard down in front of her, pulled the cork and poured the mead. “Last person that ordered that is now in a penal colony. If you get out of hand, I get to see how far I can throw you. Fair enough?” and he smiled and chuckled.

Big Mike, Bartender

Revna grinned, lifted the tankard in salute and took a drink. She liked bar tenders with a sense of humor. “Fair enough, but I don’t think that person was worthy of such a fine drink,” she leaned over looked Big Mike in the eye and whispered, “But if you pick me up would you really wanna put me down.” She laughed and put the cork back in the bottle and passed it back. “One glass is enough for me. But keep it around. I’m Revna,” she held out her hand.

Revna Edman

He took her hand in his own big paw and said “Mike.” and shook it firmly.

Revna shook his hand firmly. “Nice to meet you, Mike. This is an incredible place you have here. I really like it.”

Having decided to wait for the good Captain and her husband inside the venue Oliver ventured into the room and stood behind the woman who he knew to be Lieutenant Edman. “Don’t worry, I’ll look after her if she gets out of hand.” He chuckled, as he waited to be served himself “I’ll have a pina colada, please” He looked to mike this time nodding to the man in greeting. This particular bar was definitely his kind of place.

Olly Loughty

Mike cocked an eyebrow at the man and said “Seriously?” and shook his head.

Revna turned around, caught between Loughty and the bar counter. “Really?” she had a wicked grin on her face, ” Is that an offer, Loughty?” She picked up her drink from bar and took another drink. She waited for him to get his drink and moved out of the way of people looking to get their drinks. “If your going to ‘look after me’ you better follow me.” It was a little hard to maneuver through the throng of people, but eventually Revna got out of the press and found an empty table.

Revna Edman

Mike slid a large, bowl-shaped glass across the bar festooned with pineapple, coconut shell, orange slices, and a cherry… and the obligatory tiny umbrella. “Piña colada. You like getting caught the rain too, I bet.” he said sarcastically and walked off.

Revna tilted her head to the side at Mike’s comment and picked up on the sarcasm. She chuckled under her breath as she walked off.

Having made his bed and with no sign of Kelly and Ian he decided to lay in and followed behind the Nordic woman, he noted her unique dress and it reminded him of a ship he had read about called the USS <Viking, the ship was heavily embedded with horse mythology and had even reported mysterious hauntings, the whole thought of a ship being haunted was amusing to him. “So, how has the ship’s latest addition to the counseling department been?” He asked sitting opposite her sipping his own white liquid colored drink, the smell of coconut, pineapple, and rum lingering in the air around him.

Oliver Loughty

“I’m doing well thank you for asking. Though if people don’t start showing up for evals I may have to hunt them down.” Revna studied the man in front of her. She’d seen his records from their meeting. Fighter pilot turned botanist. It seemed extreme, but then she went from trauma counseling to morale officers, so really not that odd she guessed. Everyone needed a change of pace at times. “What about you? Have you settled into your new ship?”

Revna Edman

Big Mike
“Oh, like settling into a new chair!” He said with a chuckle drinking his drink quickly, “I’ve always found it easy to get used to change, I blame my need to be constantly kept on my feet so for me change is welcome. How about you? The Atlantis is a great and huge ship! Forty-Five decks!” Oliver had served on larger ships before but the Atlantis dwarfed them by far, the Atlantis was more of a warp-capable starbase than a starship.

Olly Loughty

Revna nodded, “It is rather imposing isn’t it? I’ve never served on a ship this big. However, I’m finding that I really like it here. The responsibilities are very different, and I’m enjoying the change.” Revna sipped her drink, savoring the honey flavor. She’d spent a lot of time working with both civilian and military patients after the Dominion War. She was happy to be there. She’d felt she was becoming less effective for her patients and had requested a transfer, to reset herself so she could return and help them better. If she returned. “I certainly have plenty to do. Apparently, I’m going to be taking over teaching the preschool and lower elementary classes.”

Revna Edman

Olly’s interest peaked at hearing her role as a teacher, his own background at higher education was something he enjoyed greatly. “Oh really? I’ve considered volunteering my services. I taught at the University of Tartu for a while and even lectured a few times at the Academy so if you ever need a help with any science lessons or anything let me know. Im usually free when I’m not working on Pubber.”

Olly Loughty

“I like little kids. Before joining going off to college and discovering psychology I always thought I would be a teacher. Even when I was a kid, I guess I was the mother hen.” Revna smiled, it lighting her eyes, as she recalled the memories. “Apparently they are short handed. The description for this posting was ‘morale’ officer, but I think Big Mike has that covered.” She nods back towards the bar. “I’ll take you up on that. Children love hands on experiments and really at that age science and field trips is all they should be doing. Reading and writing come later.” She tilted her head to the side, clearly thinking, and not coming up with an answer, “What, exactly, is Pubber?”

Revna Edman

“Well” Leaning forward and putting down his empty glass, already thinking about getting a second it was clear Olly was just setting in to speak about something he was highly interested in. “Pubber is shorthand for Proto-Rubber and basically its a substance derived from a plant-like substance from a tree that’s very much like earth rubber tree but much more interesting. Proto-Rubber can literally mold to shape you think a sit carries an Electro-magnetic pulse it connects with you. Super heat resistant but not stab-proof” He held up his hand to show the scar which he had opted to not waste a dermal-regenerator on. “We’ve managed to increase its size and color, we’re thinking about what applications it has for standard use in clothing and such.

Olly Loughty

Revna crossed her arms on the table to listen. Loughty was obviously very excited about this project. Thinking about some of her patients that had suffered burns. “I would imagine just the ability to protect from burns is amazing. Combat wear, working near the warp core or plasma injectors, even in the labs.” She eyes the scar, “All in the name of science?”
Revna Edman

“Always in the name of science my dear,” He said happily returning his hand to his side, “So other than teaching and getting into people’s head what else does Miss, I assume miss? Edman likes to do in her free time, oh and other than drink… what was it Viking Beer?” He asked curiously looking at the vessel which housed her beverage of choice. He remembered Mike’s warning about the last person to drink it and wondered if Revna would be the same tonight and that his promise to look after her would be futile.

Oliver Loughty.

Revna laughed, “Viking Bloud. It’s honey wine. Obviously the idiot who drank it last was just that. It goes down smooth but kicks. No way to mistake this for something gentler. Of course it’s nothing like they make back home. One tankard is more than enough.” Revna sat back contemplating his question. “Yes it is Miss. I enjoy sketching but I’ve little talent, just enjoyment. Movies or theatre, and being on the sea. I miss that most from home. I think if we could get the ship to Rick like a ship on the sea I would be in heaven.”
Revna Edman

He chuckled of course, he enjoyed sailing himself and most sea activities, “Well maybe we can try the holodeck out, I also enjoy the call of the sea. Estonia has a rich maritime history itself being close to the nordic states.” Olly explained the thought of homemaking him miss it ever so slightly. “Have you managed to hunt down any pesky Counsellor runaways?” He asked recalling her previous gripe about people avoiding her.

Oliver oughty

Revna’s eyes lit up at the idea. It had been a long time since she’d actually sailed, but the holodeck technology could certainly recreate the experience. After the events of her last duty station it would nice to visit somewhere, anywhere other than another starship. Still smiling, “We need to do that, and very soon.” She shook her head, “Apparently the Science Department is setting a very good example. I’ll wait till tomorrow and then I’m hunting people down.” She got a wicked gleam in her eye. “So what does Oliver Loughty do when not playing with Plubber?”
Revna Edman

“We’ll I fear for them” He teased, content, and feeling good about himself having apparently said the right things thought about her question for a moment, there were many things he liked to do. “I love plants so my work is my hobby but when I’m not doing that I enjoy maintain, photography, any water sports, and a good karaoke not as exciting as taking to the seven seas but I find my happy place when doing them.

Revna used to like sports, but she wasn’t sure how that would work itself out now. His comment on karaoke caught her attention. “Ah then I will put you down as the first to sign up. I’m expected to come up with all kinds of fun activities for the crew. I had considered Karaoke. And since there is interest,” Revna grinned putting him on the spot, “I’ll go ahead and plan one.”

“You know I have some free time tomorrow if you wanted to book a holosuite?” He asked curiously waving down a floating waitress and ordered some more drinks, not it’s two but varying drinks of different colors and size, he chose the bright blue one and offered the selection to Revna.

  • Oliver Loughty

Revna choose an amber red colored drink and sipped it. It wasn’t too bad. Hmmm…a trip to a holosuite. “I would like that, where shall you be taking me?”
Revna Edman

“How does sailing the seven seas as two of the fiercest pirates to ever sail, Anne Bonny and Calico Jack. ” He sipped his drink, “I’ll even bring the rum and we can sail the carribean for the better part of two hours. Since we both like the sea some” Oliver had read up during his time at University on nautical history and pirates always fascinated him, how it must have felt to have the whole wide sea left mostly undiscovered. Perhaps like how Starfleet felt now.”

Olly Loughty

Revna grinned, “That sounds like a fine idea. I look forward to it.” The crowd was starting to disperse. Revna finished off her mead and then winked at Oliver. “Well I think it’s safe to call you Oliver at this point. I better get going before Big Mike decides I’m trouble.” She laughed stood up and pretended to sneak towards the door.
