Having completed the rest of his check-ins, D’vash made his way to the counselors office. Lt. Edman was another recent addition to the Atlantis’ crew and he looked forward to meeting her. He had gone over her personnel file (as an intel officer should) and had discovered they had something in common: their Nordic heritage, though D’vash’s was a bit diluted with Orion blood.

The CIO had no problem finding the counseling suites located on the port side of Deck 11. His previous ship had been the USS Olympic, also a Mythology class.

He stepped into the main reception area and checked with receptionist. The ensign behind the desk looked up and smiled. “Good afternoon, Commander. How can I help you?”

“I’m here for my check -in with Lt. Edman. 1400 hours. Cmdr. Odinson.”

“Thank you, sir. You’re all checked in. I’ll let the lieutenant know you’re here.” She commed the counselor’s office and informed her of the new arrival. “She’ll be with you in just a moment, Commander.”

“Thank you,” D’vash replied. He stepped away from the desk and waited patiently, admiring the artwork displayed on the walls. . . .

Revna answered the comm and then got to her feet. She’d reviewed D’vash Odinson’s file and was unsurprised to find he had Nordic heratige. She walked over to door. “Cmdr. Odinson, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Come in.” Revna walked back into her office. Upon entering the office it was very subdued. The harsh grays and blues that came standard were replaced by earth tones of browns, bronzes, greens, yellows, oranges, and deep reds. There were several areas to sit, couches, chairs, floor pillows. There didn’t appear to be a desk anywhere. The shelves were filled with pieces of art and memorabilia that honored her heritage. The pictures were a mix of landscapes and abstracts, carefully placed around the room so as not to clash with each other. The shelves also included an array of different objects, from singing bowls, to art supplies, to mandalas. There was also a computer interface to allow patients to choose the background noise of their choice.

“Please have a seat Cmdr. I’m Lt. Revna Edman. Would you like a drink?”

D’vash followed her into the office and replied to her inquiry. “Yes, I would, as a matter of fact. Grape Kool-aid, please. It’s already been programmed into the ship’s replicators.”

In a gentlemanly manner, he waited until she returned with the drink and waited until Revna took a seat. His eyes, gazing around the room were taking in every detail. “The paintings? Are they yours?” His gaze returned to her face as she answered.
