The new CAG made the window overlooking the flight deck opaque, and leaned back in his chair. He was tired, and he yawned slightly as he looked around his office.

The desk was set perpendicular to the window so he could work and see flight operations simultaneously. On the desk was a piece of blackened, twisted metal the size of the Major’s fist. In front of the desk were four chairs, each comfortable and typical of a flight Ready Room. A few pictures hung on the walls, all the current CAG throughout his aviator career. A Marine officer’s sabre hung on the wall directly opposite the door. And hanging on a hook on the bulkhead right of the door was a flight suit and helmet and a jump bag.

Lardel looked around and nodded in satisfaction. It was good to be back.

Lardel, CAG

Lardel took a seat and began to review the flight schedule for the next few days. A tweak here and there, and after ten minutes he nodded. “That’ll do.”

Lardel, CAG

Looking out over the flight deck, Lardel’s thoughts began to wander slightly back to the last time he was aboard the Chimera. It was a short stay, but he always wondered why the brass hauled him back to Earth to teach, only to send him right back here again.

Lardel, CAG

Rebecca had been stuck in the science labs so much, recently, that she hadn’t gotten around to meeting the main supervisors and Department Heads on the ship. Realizing the CAG was new, as she was, she figured it was a good next stop for her. Well, to meet ‘officially’, anyway. Having already had a rather abrupt run in with the man already. This time, at least, she had made sure there were no ‘ops’ happening. And she remained on the walkways, not on the hanger floor.

Her uniform was neat, though probably not inspection ready. She had been moving things around in the lab with some of her scientists to make it easier to move and also to move larger containers and containment items around to the various stations without needing to constantly rely on transporters.

Her mass of brunette curls were pulled back in a coil at the base of her neck, just off her collar. The loose tendrils, ever present, floated around her face as she walked up the steps to the office and tapped the chime. Eyes of deep blue glanced down thru the bay below at the myriad of shuttles and other craft she wouldn’t be able to identify beyond the fact they were fighters or runabouts.

“Enter!” came a barked and short order and the door slid open. Lardel, behind his desk, looked and he said “Our wayward CSO. What brings you back, L-T? Trying to sneak into my flight deck again?” His tone was curt, short… but not hostile. More… efficient… than irritated.

Lardel, CAG

Rebecca nodded respectfully. “I wouldn’t dream of it, Sir. I swore I’d go through you for any other requests and I plan to keep my word. No, this time I thought I would merely come say hello and meet you in person, under better circumstances. I checked and with no ops happening for a while, I had thought I would stop by. I hope you are settling in well enough. No others sneaking into the bay when not wanted?” She smiled once more and nodded out the window to the deck below.
