A meeting request came through.
To:
Lt Rebecca Morrison, CSO
Capt Alexxander Ryley, CMO
Re:
Discussion of the nature of Plouton 9 cf special requirements
Location: Conference Room B, Deck 4, 10:00 hrs local ship time.

It was signed as Sung-ho, associate, Magnus Corporation
- Bump

Ryley was in his office when the message came through. He frowned at the screen and then checked the message again before closing it and continuing building the domino relay he had been playing with.

However, at the appointed time the greying bearded doctor turned up at the conference room and waited to see who else would be joining.

Ryley
MD

The Conference room was dark about the edges with the only real light being from over the table. This had evidently been planned that way. A single figure sat at the table. He was, like Mason Larden, immaculately dressed. He himself was of Asian descent, young by Ryley’s standards, his short cropped hair at front tuned to a small ‘rats tail’ at the back. Both his hands were on the table, dark eyes following Ryley.

On the table to his left was a closed, thin case. To his right was a tea set. As Ryley entered, he stood up and inclined his head in a greeting. “You must be Doctor Ryley. I am pleased to meet you. While we wait, please, sit. Would you care for some tea?”

Sung-ho, Magnus Corp

Rebecca had a slightly different response to the missive that crossed her desk console that morning. “Prouton 9.... what’s that?” She murmured the query to herself, even as her fingers tapped out the question to the computer. She was curious what was going on and didn’t want to go into the meeting blind.

Prouton 9. A heavy metal planetoid and ninth moon of a gas giant orbiting the blue star Theta Callius which is located toward the outer edge of the Dankana Cloud, otherwise known as the Scar by Federation cartographers, the Bat’leth by the Klingons and the ‘Maze’ by the Ferengi. Prouton 9 is home to two races, the Cree and the Rill. Starfleet considers the mining operation on Prouton 9 a strategic and necessary operation. It is operated and managed by the Magnus Corporation.

((Room for anything you see fit to let her find))
Taking up her PaDD, she headed for the meeting and watched the Div enter the room just as she turned the corner. Her own proximity to the door opening it a few moments behind him.

Her own attire was simple. Regulation uniform, clean, pressed and bordering on inspection ready. Her hair pulled back neatly that morning was already loosing tendrils around her face in fine lined wisps. She wore no makeup and had her small personal device in one hand, a cup of tea in the other. A smile lit her face as she glanced at the occupants and the lighting. “How intriguing,” she murmured, letting the present conversation continue as she headed for her seat.

Lt Rebecca Morrison
Chief Science Officer

Sung-ho stood at Rebecca’s entrance and bowed. “Welcome Lt Morrison.” He glanced at her cup. “Please. May I refresh your tea?”

As the two settled, he said, “I am to give you a briefing on what you will find at Plouton 9 Station and what you, as science professionals, will need to know in order to prepare your people. There are certain medical .. issues there that need to be mitigated.”
- Sung-ho

“Thank you,” Rebecca nodded and moved forward to accept the tea and settle in one of the vacant seats. She decided not to spout of her own knowledge, but wait and see what had brought them together. “Doctor Ryley, a pleasure as always.” She smiled and nodded to him as well and set her PaDD to record as she took a sip of the tea and nodded in approval.

CSO

“I will begin,” Sung-ho said after everyone was settled. Opening up his case he took out two vials that contained a reddish fluid. “Plouton 9 is not toxic to most persons, though there are deleterious effects that the atmosphere has to many humanoid species. Studies have been conducted that blood type, planet of origin, and even gender has a part to play. The principal effect is that of a narcotic influence upon a person not regularly vaccinated against it. Everyone going down to the world and region will need to be so fortified.”
