his eyes went wide when Major Knox spoke up “Oh I was afraid of this…They left the port about 4 rotations ago their ship has not been heard from the port authorities have just dispatched a search ship however its the law of the sea out there as you know there is always a bigger ship!” he said moving out from behind his stall and putting up a sign written in a strange language probably says Closed “First though I need to make sure so there should be a password so if you can give me that We can move forward!” he said sternly

“We sail the endless seas under the bright stars,” NE Strong spoke from memory.

~NE Kyra Strong~

Gal’mek let loose with a huge sigh of relief “Good I can take you to their place” he said pulling a paper sign out from under his stall it had alien writing on it but more than likely it said something to the effect of Closed, Out to lunch or Be back in some short unit of time nodding to Mel’ishka who nodded back probably some understanding between them about keeping an eye on the stall while he dealt with them he would lead them through the streets which were bustling with large groups of Mar’Zek all extremely colorful “Funny though You all look to be Oonaka are you sure that you guys are friends with these fine archeologists I mean yes you have the password and all” he said as he lead them along though it was clear he was a little suspicious of their appearance

NE Torvalds of the Engineering Department had not said anything whatsoever, as he had been dispatched as an observer with little to no authority as to actual mission interaction. If the research equipment was broken, he could repair it, but that was about it. He had volunteered for the mission, in part because, as a Saurian, he was able to be disguised as a local a little more easily than the others. However, he couldn’t help but notice a bit of exclusionism in the Mar’zek’s voice.

“The archeologists have a wide array of associates,” he said in the local tongue, not quite sure why he had done it.

Gal’mek looked very confused by that “I don’t know where about in this world you come from but around here its just the way it is Those who like yourselves have standard solid color are Oonaka and thus don’t have much in the way of opportunities If i were you I would head to the Colorists if you can afford it and get some more colors” he said as they began to approach a building he pulled out a key “here is their shop I hope you find them…They are good people!” he said softly before turning to walk back to his stall

Lunan nodded in thanks and whispered to Ensign Torvalds, “Your grasp of the language in such a short time is… impressive, Ensign.”

-Lieutenant Lunan Farrah: Chief Science Officer-

Torvalds looked over. “We warped here. I spent the time studying, as there was not much to do on the way here. Similar biology, similar linguistic development. I hope that it is more useful in the future than just now.”

“Let’s see if there’s some clues lying about as to what might have happened to our friends,” NE Strong spoke up, “Hopefully something will give us a direction.”

OOC If it’s not in the packet I do apologize I know I made mention of it in a past post BUT the native language is very much the same as the Polynesian Dialects such as Hawaiian and Samoan

inside the door was what appeared to be a store full of native artifacts apparently the Observation team was actually doing what their cover job was and actually doing archeology while making sure there was no outside influence on these people’s development the main hallway went fairly but not quite straight into the side of the hill it was built into behind the sales counter was a hallway with rooms on the right hand side it was quiet and empty in this store at least for the moment

“I recommend some of us keep watch, in case a local decides to pop in here whilst we are conducting our search,” NE Strong suggested.

~NE Strong~

“I’m happy to take the second watch, but for now I’d like to take as many biological and chemical samples as I can.”

-Lieutenant Lunan Farrah: Chief Science Officer-

Adrenaline sang in his veins the moment he materialized, and Kohr took a steadying breath to temper it. Leaning on his walking stick a bit, he peered into every nook and shadow ready to strike. It had been the most practical arrival site, secluded and turned away from the casual observer. The small space had likely been meant for refuse storage or to give the occupants a bit of privacy, but with the way the buildings jumbled together it was difficult to say. Taking a swig from his jug and letting a few drops soak into his clothes, Kohr used his unfamiliar gait to shamble from the alley in search of his crewmates.
—Kohr, Executive Officer—

He would find the Transporter chief had actually set him right next to the building the team was now preparing to investigate so he was already with his team

an NE security officer took up a place by the door freeing the team to investigate fully Now it was just a matter of searching the rooms in this building

“Let’s see what we can find,” NE Strong cautiously headed down the hallway, keeping track of the position of every door, switch and the like as she walked, looking for something out of place.

~NE Strong~

Kohr assisted in the cursory search of the building, specifically any leftover documents that might have been coded. The Klingon half expected to find signs of a struggle or hasty exit, though that would have been too easy. He muttered half to himself, half to the rest of the away team, as he did so.

“It is… unusual for a Starfleet observation team to simply vanish, though given the sensor readings from orbit it might be possible.” He made a wry face as he poked about. “The questions becomes where did they maintain the records of their mission—that may give us a direction, a… lead, I believe the expression is. Do we have any idea whether or not they were last seen here?”
—Kohr, Executive Officer—

NE Torvalds started looking at the items on the shelves, trying to assess if any of them were mechanical in nature. Clearly, the society here had never discovered electricity, but had managed an industrial age equivalent with other means of powering their devices. He was curious as to what the locals considered “archaeology” and what might have been closer to an antique, if only by way of technological advancement.

NE Torvalds, Engineering

The Mar’zek had an early understanding of electricity yet had yet to begin harnessing it As the party began to search the building in detail there was the main room with the shelves of artifacts and antiques a counter for doing commerce and what looked like an early cash register of a sort the counter had glass in its top and front displaying more objects they would find a room that was a bedroom with four beds a Kitchen and eating area and some kind of workshop that looked like it was set up to clean restore and prepare Artifacts and Antiques for sale there was also a bathroom finally there was a door that was locked if this were a shop on earth this might lead to the backroom
