OOC So Just a quick Update any scans that the ship Conducted will have detected its class M and just about all the lifeforms however something is masking the Lifeforms of the Observation team and that masking can not be pinpointed

Lieutenant Farrah manages to get the frequency quite easily and if he takes a closer look at the scan he would find that as long as they do low power scans it should not activate any more of this type of metal Once the Frequency has been isolated It seems that the only other source is coming form the Cash Register

GMT Phoenix

Lunan stepped over to the strange machine on the desk and recognised it as a cash register, an old currency storage device from Earth’s 19th, 20th and 21st Centuries, “The other source is coming from this machine; if Starfleet has taught me anything about human history, it should open like this,” Lunan pulled a lever on the side of the machine and waited to see what happened.

-Lieutenant Lunan Farrah: Chief Science Officer-

The Drawer popped open and the drawer was in fact segmented for cash handling the sound seemed to be coming from under the Drawer which could obviously be lifted out under which they would find a ring of keys one of which was Vibrating fearcly giving them the key they needed to access the locked room

Ensign Lane Alworth materialized in the middle of what appeared to be some type of mercantile establishment. It took him a moment to acclimate to the lighting and the fact that this body didn’t quite respond the same way he was used to.

“Who are you?”

“I’m one of Chimera’s physicians, Ensign Lane Alworth,” he said. Even his mouth felt wrong. “Modifications to Dr. LeDoux were simply impractical so I’m taking his place.”

“Impractical?”

“Adding nearly 20% to his height sounds impractical to me,” Alworth said. “What is this place?”

Kohr froze, glancing at the newly-arrived ensign with a mixture of chagrin and bafflement. Why were crewmen being beamed down without proper briefing? He would make it a point to address this with the command staff after the mission, assuming they didn’t befall the same fate as the missing observation team. The Klingon’s instincts told him this was not where they had disappeared from—it was too orderly, too mundane. But without any other leads they were stuck hunting in circles.

Seeing that the mystery behind the door was about to be solved, Kohr instead continued to look for any records the team might have left behind.
—Kohr, Executive Officer—

“Commander,” Lunan called to Kohr, “I believe this key is the one we need to get that door open,” the CSO held out the key with the vibrating frequency to the Klingon with a determined look on his face.

-Lieutenant Lunan Farrah: Chief Science Officer-

The key did infact open the door inside they would find Federation boxes cots computers and other things this belonged to the Observation team which was why the door was clearly locked and guarded they might be able to find a log on the computer though there were clear signs that the Power Cells which were being used to provide power to everything needed to be changed soon because they were running dry Luckily the supplies that the Chimera had beamed over from the SS Edmund Fitzgerald contained the fresh power cells all they would need to do is call up to the Chimera and order the supplies beamed into this room

Torvalds recognized that the scans were done, and stepped back into the room. He already disliked that he was wearing specially shaped hearing devices on the sides of his head. The fact that the frequency from the exotic material caused them to harm his actual aural receptors, even minimally, was going to problematic if it continued to occur.

“Seems like a bizzare cache of supplies to leave behind,” Lunan noted, immediately making a beeline for the nearest computer console, before turning to the XO, “If you’ll permit me Commander, I can see if I can access any of the Observation Team’s logs?”

Kohr nodded. “Proceed.”

-Lieutenant Lunan Farrah: Chief Science Officer-

“You might leave all this behind if you had to bug out in a hurry.” Andrew said. “Or if it didn’t seem possible to come retrieve it.”

-Maj. Knox

“The more I look around,” the Klingon-turned-Mar’zek noted in a thoughtful baritone, “the more I am disinclined to believe this was where the observation team met their fate. This seems too everyday for something unexpected to have occurred. No signs of struggle or distress, and even an ambush is unlikely considering the equipment is still intact. Nigh-dead power cells concern me, however, as it suggests they have been gone for some time. Is there a time stamp on their last log access, Lieutenant?”

IC The computers had enough power at the moment to keep files in active memory however The Away team would have to beam down the Supplies from the Chimera which had come originally the Fitzgerald would have dropped off had the Fitzgeralds transporters been working when the cargo ship had arrived and they would need to change out the Power Cells so the computers had more power to call up any data that might be stored

GMT Phoenix

“It looks as if the computers are operating on minimal power.” said the counselor as she craned her neck and peered over the CSO’s shoulder. “We are going to need those power cells that were beamed over from the Fitzgerald, else we will not be working very long before these devices completely lose power.” LaKeitah paused for a moment and tried to see if she could sense any type of lifeforms, especially from the Observation Team and she couldn’t. She then looked at the commander and said, “I will notify the Chimera and have them beamed down, =^= Naisyr to the Chimera. We are going to need you to beam down those power cells from the Fitzgerald to our current location so we can attempt to access the Observations Team’s Logs. Can I get an ETA?=^=

Naisyr, Counselor
OOC: Hellooo guys! I am so glad to be here. I quickly read the thread and I am just jumping in like I have always been here.

Torvalds noted the exchange. It was likely that his skills would be needed soon, even if was just a matter of equipment upkeep and data access.

Alworth was performing scans in the kitchen portion of the building focusing on leftover food. One sample in particular caught his attention.

“Based on the spoilage level of this, I would estimate that the occupants have been gone for at least three days and no more than two weeks,” he said.

It’s like they took a break and never returned, LaKeitah thought to herself as she organized all the facts in her mind, The door to this room had been locked, key left behind, no sign of forced entry, there didn’t appear to be a struggle, the devices were still functional and had some remaining power, and there is food that has recently spoiled. Then she said out loud “Is it possible the Mar’Tek became suspicious, detained them, and they went without incident to maintain their cover? If they were able to make contact with us I am sure they would have done so. What if they are being held somewhere or....worse. It seems they knew it was a possibility they could go missing. They developed protocol for it and that is why we are here.” She looked around and thought, There must be something here to help us locate them or figure out what happened to them.

Naisyr, Counselor

Lunan nodded to Kohr and started looking around for anything that resembled a computer terminal.

-Lieutenant Lunan Farrah: Chief Science Officer-

OOC I did not give any info about food being left Rotting or anything like that nor did I specify how long the Away team has been gone! Please do not add details that I do not express myself Also I have already Specified that there is a Computer Terminal set up on one side of the Room It needs the Power Cells which were part of the Supplies that The Chimera Beamed Off the SS Edmond Fitzgerald

IC Within moments the Chimera beamed down the Power cells now all they needed to do was change out the power cells a simple procedure that even a cadet could pull off with no problem the trick is not to disconnect all of the spend power cells all at once basically trading them off one at a time

GMT Phoenix

OOC: Our bad! Need to keep a keen eye on this thread where we can y’all!

Lunan breathed a sigh of relief and tapped his combadge, “=^= Lunan to Chimera, the power cells are down and safe. =^=” The Bajoran turned quickly to Ensign Torvalds with an arched eyebrow, “Ensign, get these power cells swapped over as soon as possible, the sooner we get everything in here up and running, the sooner we can work out what the hell is going on down here.”

-Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-

Torvalds nodded. “Understood, Commander,” was his only reply before he got to work.

The counselor went over to assist the Ensign. She assessed how the current power cells were attached to the terminals and said, “It’s probably best we do not disconnect all the power cells all at once. Let’s switch them out one at a time. Don’t you agree?”

Naisyr, Counselor

Torvalds was a little confused as to why a Medical professional was taking point on a technological task. However, as Naisyr outranked him, he was not going to begrudge the help.

“I was planning on exchanging the current secondary supply first, and then using the current primary cell as a throughput to the computer” Torvalds said. “It strikes me as more efficient, and allows the other power cells to be held in reserve.”

“I’ll see if I can get anything from the crew’s logs,” Lunan said, tapping a control on the terminal.

-Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-
