Freja sipped her coffee as she observed the wait staff set up for a post-mission unwind party. She had tried to include a variety of different cuisines. Some of the food would be available in the crew lounge for the rest of the crew whilst she expected most of the senior staff and the more senior members of the departments would likely put in an appearance here. She’d even included an invite for anyone wanting to share a dish from their homeworld if they so desired.
She’d arranged for a few Kvæfjord cakes to be included. Whilst she was indeed mostly Betazoid, her grandfather had introduced her to some of his favorite Norwegian style foods and she was rather fond of the sponge cake with almonds, meringue and vanilla.
Some of her former commanders often tried to go overboard with the party themes, even the head waiter here tried to convince her to define the theme a bit more, but she found something casual was more successful in building a continuing rapport between everyone on the ship. Food was important though, food often spurred conversation more times than not.
She’d sent the invites out after receiving her debrief from command and figured while they waited on new orders they could unwind a little while the ship headed back to the spaceport.
