The engineering trip still took time, even with all the holes the marines blew into the ship - that was going a long time for engineering to fix. Not that the marines cared. When arrived, Sutret, and overwhelmed looking ensign exhaled loudly. “Lieutenant we have massive power draws all over. Shields are taking 42 percent of power output increasing at a linear rate. I project shields along with warp drive will pass the 100% utilization rate in under 7 hours.”

Ensign

Koria blinked. She knew that the shields were strained, but that was at a much higher level then she had imagined. For now this was the problem she’d have to focus on. She would have to go yell at the marines about all the holes they blasted in her ship after this was done.

“Okay, make sure we get all of the non-essential systems shut....

The ensign made a face… non-essential was a subjective term. “All the fun stuff is off. We could turn of life support outside of the gravity.. that would by us maybe 30 minutes, which is about as long as the oxygen and heat will last.”

=/\= Jacobs to Sutret. Have you tried a tunneling neutrino scan? =/\=

Jacobs, CO (Crosspost)

Koria sighed. Not the time for this. She tapped her commbadge. =^=Not yet Captain. I just made it back to Main Engineering. I can set up the scan, but it may take time off of our maximum we have left.=^=

She looked over at the ensign as she waited for the Captain to reply. “Set-up the scan. Perhaps the Captain has some brilliant idea to save us all before we get crushed.”

Lt Sutret - CE

=/\= Our maximum? =/\= came the quick and demanding response.

Jacobs, CO

=^= Yes Captain. We only have about 7 hours until the shields and warp core pushes our power systems to 100% utilization. Once that happens something is going to give as we can only produce so much power at a time. I was going to attempt to see how much energy we can conserve and potentially store to buy us some more time once we hit that limit. We can run the scan, it will just take away from those efforts. =^=

The ensign switched tasks pulling out what looked like a massive a laser drill. “Okay… what are we tunneling to.” They could do with easier with the ship sensor array but they didn’t have access to that from engineering right now.

GM

Koria’s eyes widened. “We aren’t actually digging a tunnel Ensign.” She stopped for a second to let her thoughts catch up with what was going on. “I’m guessing we don’t have access to the sensor array down here, just like when I was in the computer core. Do we have any access or control over the main deflector from here?”

Lt Sutret - CE

The ensign half chuckled… “Nooo… We can control the power to those sections, but we have no direct control so for instance we would shut down the whole forward section if we wanted to cut power to the deflector dish.”

OOC: It only looks like a drill, but its a tunneling neutrino scanner.

=/\= Run the scan. Hopefully it will confirm our way out of here. Jacobs out. =/\=

The ensign took that as an order, “Hmm.” he said as he looked down into the readout. “I see another engine room. Looks just like ours.”

As the ensign walked way, Koria blinked before rubbing the back of her head. She must of hit it even harder when the ship suddenly decelerated then she originally thought. But she didn’t have time to worry about that right now.

Jen turned and tapped his comm badge. =^= Jen to Lt Sutret. The place chosen for a link between us and an alt-universe Chimera is Engineering. Prepare for communications between their =^= a pause =^= senior officer, Commander Heather Argeneau =^=

Some time later (an eternity, based on how big the Chimera was, it felt), Katelyn strode into Main Engineering. “Did anything come of the scans, Lieutenant?” she demanded, not particularly entertaining this as a time for pleasantries. The results of it would make her feel either much more terrified or much more certain about the path that was to come.

Jacobs, CO

“Captain. I’m still waiting for the engineer to come back. He headed down with the scanning equipment and should hopefully be back soon. And um, Captain? What is this about an alt-universe Chimera that is going to be having a meeting here?” Koria asked looking perplexed. She had definitely missed something in everything going on.

Lt Sutret - CE

Ensign Onthespot pointed at the readout. “We have a picture of an engine room much like ours.” He pointed at the sensor screen. “It actually looks exactly like ours.. maybe a little dirtier.

Katelyn nodded as she received the CE’s report and then proceeded to update her on what they had learned so far in Sickbay. Her tone mimicked Koria’s perplexed look, as this situation was not a strong suit of hers. “In short, there’s a plan that will hopefully all get us back where we need to go…” she commented.
