“Captain. I’m still waiting for the engineer to come back. He headed down with the scanning equipment and should hopefully be back soon. And um, Captain? What is this about an alt-universe Chimera that is going to be having a meeting here?” Koria asked looking perplexed. She had definitely missed something in everything going on.

Lt Sutret - CE

Ensign Onthespot pointed at the readout. “We have a picture of an engine room much like ours.” He pointed at the sensor screen. “It actually looks exactly like ours.. maybe a little dirtier.

Katelyn nodded as she received the CE’s report and then proceeded to update her on what they had learned so far in Sickbay. Her tone mimicked Koria’s perplexed look, as this situation was not a strong suit of hers. “In short, there’s a plan that will hopefully all get us back where we need to go…” she commented.

Jen added, “They took more damage than we did as we collided in subspace. Our shields are locked on a quantum level and we need to rig a computer link with theirs in order to simultaneously drop the shields at precisely the same time. If one or the other drops it first the other will be destroyed.” He caught Sutret’s gaze. “A walk in the park for an engineer,” he said.
- Jen

Katelyn shrugged slightly forlornly at Jen and then looked pleadingly at the CE. The level of technical knowledge that this was demanding was far beyond the former pilot’s expertise, but that’s why she had a solid crew of experienced and dedicated specialists, given what it took to keep a ship of this size running. “Not a walk in the park for a pilot,” she murmured to them with a grin.

“Which begs the question,” Jen said. “Are we going to shoot out like an Andorian Squee Worm when we are .. disconnected?”

Katelyn winced at the description. “That’s a mental image, Commander.”

Koria’s eyes gleamed, now she had a real problem that she could solve. “We should be able to sync the ship clocks pretty easily, depending on what sort of delay we are getting through the connection. But that should be workable....” she trailed off as she thought about it.

“Our hull is still at the upper limits of being stressed right now. With the damage to our systems, to take down our external shields, we are most likely going to have to take down all of our internal shields as well. If the pressure isn’t eliminated almost immediately, the ship is not going to last long. Have we double checked their calculations yet? And I recommend getting as many crew away from the outer hull as possible, just in case.”

Lt Sutret - CE

“Here is an added challenge for you Chief. Their computer is damaged. It works, but it may not be quite a plug and play event.” He thought, his antenna with it. “Good question on the internal shields. My guess is that we’re only talking the external shields and not interior, but that is something to check into. At the moment we have no calculations. All we have is the plan.”

Kate walked into engineering along with Echo team. She motioned them to the side where they stayed at parade rest, while she approached the XO.

“You called Commander?”

MCapt Hawkins - A Co Commander

“Captain Hawkins,” Jen said, turning toward her. “You have a very marine mission ahead. The first is to secure Engineering from all but unnecessary people. The second will be to go on a scavenger hunt for anything that the Chief Engineer needs. I know first hand that marines are expert scroungers. Don’t disappoint me.”
“Chief,” he said, calling out over his shoulder a she tapped into his PaDD. “You have runners and scroungers. Use them.”

He showed the PaDD to Hawkins. This is the first of the items we need. The PaDD said, We are joined to an alternate universe Chimera and must rely on trusting them to disengage correctly to live. Ensure that no unauthorized people come in to interrupt the work - we have a limited time to do this - AND - prepare a defense in the event that we are betrayed and boarded. Subtly.
- Jen

Katelyn glanced at the PaDD as well and nodded her agreement with Jen’s instructions. He had covered their bases will and the CMO already knew what was going on and he would be ready for any injuries incurred in the process of getting them out of here. “It sounds like we need to get our engineer back from his exploration and then open communications with the other Commander Argeneau again.”

Jacobs, CO

As if summoned by the captain’s words the alternate Argeneau appeared. =^=It seems that you have made it.=^= She made an obvious scanning of the engineering room which was completely out of force of habit since her figure was just a image and had no actual senses too ‘see’.

The communication was still, disturbingly controlled by the alternate Chimera, but at least now, their neutrino tunneling scanner this Chimera was able to look into the alternate’s engineering room at least.
