Following her conversation with the Captain, Elaine had committed the names of the mentioned staff members into her memory as something to check up on later. For the past couple of weeks she’d been busy getting to know her staff and settling herself and Enj on the ship. Now things had begun to quieten down for her somewhat, she decided it was high time she looked at the medical files of the officer the Captain had recommended she look into… a certain Lt (j.g) Klienhoffer. Pulling up Elizabeth Klienhoffer’s record on her PADD Elaine settled to inform herself in the medical concerns that Capt. Harris had illuded to.

Had there had been anyone watching the CMO as she read through Klienhoffers file, they would perhaps, have found amusement in her face as it changed with each ailement that Elaine read. When she’d finished, she sat back in her chair staring thoughtfully into space, ignoring even Enj, as she processed all that she had read. Poor Lt. (j.g.) Kleinhoffer, the women seemed almost cursed - at least medically speaking - she suffered so many ailements. Elaine felt sympathy for her, it almost certainly couldn’t’ve been easy for her. She was also glad she’d waited until things had settled, because she knew she was going to have to do extra research on Kleinhoffers medical conditions. While she was a proficiant doctor, she was only young, and as she had informed the Captain, she was best a triage, a little extra research wasn’t going to hurt. Satisfied with her choice she leaned down and clicked her fingers until Enj woke up from where he was sleeping on his little doggy bed in the corner of her office. “Sorry buddy,” she muttered apologetically, as he obediently and sleepily trotted over to her to be petted, “You’re being relieved of duty for the afternoon,” Enj wiggled his butt in response.

She rarely dismissed him, but in this instance she wanted to err on the side of caution. Klienhoffer’s file said she had asthma, and although Elaine doubted he would, but if Klienhoffer wasn’t used to dogs she didn’t want to risk Enj triggering an asthma attack while she was meeting with the other woman.

=^= Lt. (j.g.) Janvier to NE Lucia; Are you busy? =^=
=^= Just playing with some cells Lt. is this a social call or do you want something? =^= Lucia’s cheeky voice came down the line.
=^= Yes please, can you report to my office and collect Enj for me. He’s getting a little ansty, =^=
=^= Oh no! Tell my baby I’m on my way NE out =^=

Elaine rolled her eyes at Lucia’s overdramaticness “She’s on her way bud,” she said to Enj mere seconds before the NE burst through the doors and scooped Enj up into her arms with a cry of “I shall save you from the bordom monster!” and a pointed look at Elaine. “Thank you,” Elaine said, ignoring the dramatics, “You know I’d do anything to skive off work with this cutie,” Luica winked and left, taking the small dog with her.

Shaking her head, Elaine tapped her combadge for a second time. =^= Lt. (j.g.) Janvier to Lt. (j.g.) Kleinhoffer; Please report to my office at your earliest convenience. =^=
As she waited for a reply Elaine opened up her PADD again, it was time to do a little research.

Ellie rolled her eyes at the CMO asking her to come to Sickbay. She knew where this was going, she sighed and headed to sickbay. Her chair gliding through the halls silently, arriving at the doors of Sickbay, she slid in and looked around “Where is Lt Janvier?” She asked clearly not wanting to be here, hoping that it was something wrong in Sickbay.

Kleinhoffer (eng)

A small Bajoran medical NE blinked owlishly at her, “She’s in her office,” he said pointing Ellie over to a door that ajoined Sickbay a little bit further into the room, “Just go straight in, she won’t mind.”

The CMO’s office, although reasonably tidy, was not as orderly as Sickbay. The young CMO herself, was sitting at her desk, head perched in one hand reading off of a PADD, scattered around her were various other PADDs and the odd medical textbook here and there. On the other side of her desk was a chair, obviously for such discussions as the one Ellie was anticipating, another two chairs sat neatly out of the road in the corner. The only odd touch that set Lt. Janvier’s office apart from other Sickbay offices was the small pillow dusted with black and white hairs that lay next to the CMO’s desk and the chewed teddybear that lay on it.
