The monitors beeped as the CE’s blood pressure spiked up. Vock glanced at the monitor and scowled. He motioned for the Charge Nurse to come over and handed the PaDD he held to her. “This is a record of the treatment used on a Star Fleet officer who had suffered a similar… event. The protocols are listed. Modify for the patient’s weight and begin treatment immediately.” and he looked at the Counselor. “The nurse is going to assist you while I tend to the Chief Engineer. Allow her to assist you. I will deal with anyone who attempts to harm anyone in my Sick Bay.” and he watched as the nurse began the procedures. He then turned to Ducote and said “Sir, I need you to sit down and lay back.” and he pulled up the latest readings on the energy he had been exposed to, and compared them to the two original patients.

Vock, CMO

The treatment was helpful. The energy levels have gone down significantly.
-GM

Brooke stood near the edge of the field and waited for those creatures to come through the door. She fully expected them to try and harm everyone in the medical bay. She did not fight with the nurse attempting to help her but she also did not relax.

CNS

Mathys nodded his understanding. He gently placed the phaser down the nearest tray then hopped onto the biobed, his legs shifted over the surface to stretch out. The CE exhaled to relax as he allowed the CMO to do his thing. Mathys’ arms curled across his body to comfortably rest on his stomach.

Vock monitored the vital readout and scans, paying close attention to cardio-pulmonary function and adrenal levels. “How are you feeling, Commander?” he asked flatly while looking at the readouts.

OOC: Sort of waiting for the GM’s feedback on if Mathys is feeling better/cured/whatever right now. The last GM reply over it made it sound like a temporary relief of symptoms so I’m not sure if Mathys is going to start to feel terrible or not again. So right now, I’m stuck on how to proceed.

-Janice B.

OOC: My bad. Should have realised that my post was too short … Although the CE was touched, the quick thinking of Cpt Wright meant that there was no time for his neural energy to be sapped. Thus, while the link was made, the women had not fed on the CE.

IC:

As far as symptoms go, the reduction of the effects of the energy has given the CE more pep. He had needed a break from the strain of his working habits and the rest in the infirmary had given him that opportunity to be away from work.

Vock looked at the readings flashing across the screen. “It would appear that your vital signs are stabilizing and there seems to be no adverse effects of the encounter.” and he looked at Ducote. “Are you feeling any better?”

Vock, CMO

“I feel better than before, yeah. Am I clear to leave? I know the captain wanted me to report to him as soon as I could,” Mathys asked, knowing the CO wanted him to assist in preparing a cure. Though he didn’t know the full details on how he could help.

–CE, Mathys A. Ducote, Eng

Vock ran one more scan and said “You are cleared for duty, Sir. But if you experience any fatigue or have trouble remembering things, you are to report back here immediately. Understood?”

Vock, CMO

OOC: Not sure where the CO is in the Main Sim (tried to look, but couldn’t find his last reply), so could the GM either direct me or insert this reply in the proper thread. I would appreciate it, thank you.

-Janice B.

OOC: The CO is on the Bridge. I don’t think the Bridge thread had been posted here from before Exodus, so I posted it now and also crossposted Mathys’s comm. You can find it here. Feel free to continue it there. :) – Joana

OOC: Thank you, that helps a lot! -Janice

IC: Mathys nodded then rose upright as he made his way out. The bad part about his job was that stress and fatigue were always present, especially harsh when there was few reminders of why it was worth. When he was clear of the sickbay, his hand pressed over his badge comm and promptly contacted the CO.

=^=Ducote to the Captain. I’ve been cleared for duty, where can I meet you to get updated on the situation and do my part.=^=

He paused around the entrance before walking to the area he was required to.

–CE, Mathys A. Ducote, Eng

Vock made his way back to the Counselor and began looking to see if the treatment had had any effect.

Vock, CMO

Her brain waves were calming down, but she was still hypervigilant “They are still on the ship.” She said “We need to contain them before they hurt anyone else.”

CNS

Suddenly the comms sprung to life.

=/\= Wright to Lieutenant Vock, I have the three passengers from the freighter on the Brig. They are very weak and seem to be starting to starve. The women don’t seem to know what they feed on besides the fact that it is on the neural energy of males. I would advise against transporting them to sickbay, but we need a way to help them without killing one of our crew members if we are to keep them alive. Is there any way that you can help us? =/\=

Capt. Wright, CIO

Vock paused for a moment, his facial expression blank. Suddenly he moved away from the Counselor and rushed to one of the surgical suites. =/\= Vock to Wright. The passengers feed by touch and absorb neural energy through their skin, correct? Find out if they can absorb the energy from anywhere on their bodies, or if it is a certain point they must feed from.=/\=

As he spoke, he retrieved a neural stimulator and a large bandage.

Vock, CMO

=/\= Acknowledged. Stand by. =/\= The reply was short and rushed. It was clear that Wright was trying to gather the information the doctor had asked in the shortest amount of time.

Capt. Wright, CIO

Brooke sat down on the edge of the bed, but didn’t take her eyes off the door. She hated not being able to do anything and felt that she had been sidelined. SHe watched as Vock took off for the surgical suite and knew that something was going on.

CNS

As Vock waited for the reply from the brig, he went to Brooke’s side. In a very un-Vulcan-like manner, he stood in front of her and took her hand and looked directly at her. “I will make sure that they do not harm anyone else. You have my word. Now please… lie back. Relax if you can. I will return.” and he released her hand and stepped back. “Nurse, continue the therapy and make sure that the Counselor is comfortable. I will be in the brig.” and he headed out of Sickbay.

Vock, CMO

Brooke sighed in frustration and laid down, but sleep evaded her. Her brain was still very active and she could sense the danger that the crew was in. She wanted to help but knew that she would be useless against them. She closed her eyes and slowed her breathing and began meditating and trying to focus her thoughts.

CNS

Vock returned a short while later and approached Brooke. “Counselor, I have a found a temporary food source for the three… guests… in the brig. I can keep them fed without them having to harm anyone. Now, I will be looking for a more permanent solution so that they will not feel the need to rebel against their confinement. I thought you should know. The danger you feel has been mollified.”

Vock, CMO

Brooke’s meditation seemed to help. She sensed that the three individuals in the brig were actually different. Their hold on her seemed to be slipping. Her thoughts became calmer.
GM

The biobeds gave an alert tone. The two men from the alien freighter had regained consciousness. Their vital signs were stable and stronger than before but were not strong enough for them to be up and about.

“Where am I?” one of them asked as he surveyed his surroundings from his position.

GM

Vock looked at the two and said “Welcome the Federation star ship USS Dresden. I am Lieutenant Junior Grade Seddk Vock, the Chief Medical Officer. You have been in my care while we… dealt with… your passengers. They are safely contained in another section of the ship. You are recuperating from an assault on your neurological systems. While I expect that you will be make a full recovery, you must remain still and at rest as much as possible. My staff and I will do our best to ensure you are comfortable until you can return to your ship. Do you have any questions at this time?”

Vock, CMO
