Last stop before checking in with command, Stores was looking forward to seeing Elaine and Enj, with leave and the excelerated loading schedule he haven’t seen either of them lately.
As usual sickbay was busy with a steady stream of minor injuries and routine patient visits so the acting Quarters Master found a spot out of the way until there was a lull.

Clinton”Stores”Reed, Supercargo

It wasn’t long before Stores was spotted by his furry friend. Enj was so excited to see his friend he was practically dancing on his hind legs. Elaine couldn’t be seen but Stores would be able to garner from the talk of the medical staff that she was in Sickbay somewhere.

Some few minutes after Stores had sat down Elaine appeared out of one of the surgical suits wearing a white coat over her uniform and carrying a case of medical samples. When her eyes met Reed’s she smiled and gestured that she’d drop off the case before she came over to talk to him. Proceeding to do just that she returned a couple of minutes later sans the case, but with the coat still on.

“Stores,” she greeted, “Congratulations on upseating the Chief Petty Officer. I must admit things are working a little smoother with you and the new Chief of Operations in charge.”

Lt. Elaine Janvier, CMO & Enj

“Thank you Lovely lady.” Stores grinned. “ In fact that is why I am here. I want to know if we missed anything in our rush.” It was difficult to speak with Enj enthusiastic licking his face. “We are on the launch clock, but I can still work a little magic in the time we have left.”

The doctor paused for a moment, in thought. “If you could get your hands on a couple of T-cell stimulators I’d appreciate it. Don’t ask me how but Ensign Wayl’a broke a couple and although we’ve got enough for another mission but I like to have enough spares on hand if I can.” she smiled, touched by Stores’s thoughtfulness. It was a great to see an officer so proactive about their job. It had been like pulling teeth to get the previous Quarter Master to restock her supplies, let along ensure she had surplus stores. And while she knew she could manage with what she had, she preferred to have extra stock on hand when they were in space. She had learned from experience to never underestimate what the future might demand from Sickbays stores.

Lt. Janvier, CMO

‘’T-cell stimulators’’ Stores was flicking threw the supplies list in his virtual work space. “Is that the proper nomenclature, or medical short hand?’’ A smile spreading across his face, “Ah, found them, just a second wile I check that we have the specs to replicate them on hand as well.

” His eyes focusing on his friend and some times ‘Partner in crime’. ‘’Anything you need personally? I have to keep my friends happy.” The wink wasn’t lewd, but certainly conspiratory .

“Not that I can think of,” She had all the medical textbooks she needed, even a few veterinarian ones now. Her collection was large enough that she was only part-way through. She wouldn’t need new ones for a few months yet. As a Starfleet Doctor, most medical papers were automatically sent through to the medical department. As for everything else, she didn’t need anything she couldn’t replicate. She glanced at her fluffy dog wiggling all over Stores. Even Enj didn’t need anything. As long as he had food and his Dresden friends he seemed happy enough. “I’ll let you know if I think of anything.”

“I know you’re on the launch clock, but is there anything you would like to eat? drink?” she asked, wanting to provide Stores a chance to take a small break. She hadn’t seen much of Stores since she had returned from shore leave. Something she knew she could attribute to them both being busy with the impending launch looming. The doctor assumed he hadn’t had much of a chance to catch his breath, and wouldn’t until they were back in space.

Lt. Janvier, CMO & Enj

“I would be glad to join you for a small bite, this is as much a social call as an official one.” The smile said much. “ Any excuse to spend time with the loviest and smartest Doctor in the fleet,”and with a cock of the head to Enj.” And the cutest moral Officer, is a good one.”

If one were to check the medical logs kept on diet, R&R and down time kept buy the computer for the medical department on would find even after his initial episode of seventy some hours strait he was maintaining a minimal amount of sleep and nutrition wile being on the clock some twenty percent over regulations. Tho his pre resupply routine showed a much healthier balance.

Clinton”Stores”Reed, Supercargo

“Keep up with the flattery and you’ll end up with more food than you can eat,” The doctor tossed over her shoulder with a laugh as she went to replicate something for Stores. She hadn’t looked at his logs before he had entered Sickbay but given the bags under his eyes, she snuck a quick peek while the food was replicating The logs were roughly what she had expected them to look like. From the looks of it he was doing the bare minimum to keep himself out of sickbay.

The food she had replicated looked like little health bars and were what she referred to as ‘Honey Rations’. Named for their faint honey flavour. They were one of the most nutritious snacks she could find that also taste nice. “This should keep you going until your next break.” she tossed one over to Stores, and placed the extra ones she had replicated beside him. “They area great snack for when you are on the clock.”

Lt. Janvier, CMO

Looking at the ration bar, and then at Elaine with mock suspicion “Are you trying to fatten me back up?” Pating his reduced but ever present belly and casting a wink at Enj. “Do I at least get coffee?”

Clinton”Stores”Reed, Supercargo

The doctor laughed, “Not with a bar of that size, but I like my men like Klingon’s like their gagh,” she winked, “alive and full of energy,” behind her a passing medical officer made a gagging noise, nonchalantly whistling when Janvier’s sharp eyes narrowed on him. She glared, but the officer pointedly refused to look their way and hurried off. When she turned back around her cheeks were a tinge pinker than normal.

Realising she was still holding onto both of their drinks, she handed him to him. Using hers to hide her face as she took a sip. “Sorry about that. Someone obviously hasn’t realised they still have to clean out the Tamarania Warble cage and scrub the surgical suite.” the last part was spoken just loud enough that medical officer could hear her.

Lt. Janvier, CMO

Stores grinned, tho he blushed himself “Ain’t we a pair Ms Elaine!” Gratefully Taking the coffee. He felt like he kept sticking his foot in his mouth when he was around the Docter, but oh how he enjoyed her company.

Remembering their bet, “ So what’s the latest in the ‘Doctor and the beast’ saga my dear?”

Clinton”Stores” Reed, Supercargo

Elaine laughed, recalling a few things the crew had said both to her face and behind her back. “Nurse Lucia (famed for her many husbands) thinks you’re secretly got tons of deleros hidden away somewhere. According to gossip, apparently science think we’ve inhaled some kind of strange pollen? I’m not sure about that one,” she shrugged, “And NE Waters wants to give me a MRI so I think you might have won,” she shook her head in amusement, “Though to be fair I just think it’s his ego talking.”

“Anything interesting from the Operations and Engineering end? What do they have to say about the wicked seductions of the Doctor on the Innocent Supercargo?”

Lt. Janvier, CMO
“ Lucia is half right,” stores chuckled.” Between back pay and the Tortuga settlement My accounts looked pretty good. That is until I bought an old derelict freighter.” The truth is he traded a lot in favors and working temporally as the ships quartermaster has those accounts flush as well.

“If only I had managed to sneak in before the freighter,” Janvier grinned, “Lucia could have been right then,”

“As to operations, the truth is that security, engineering and deck devisions are a bit low brow in comparison.” His smile spreading to a face splitting grin. “ The front runner involves drugs, tho why the heck I would need to supply the ships Doctor escapes me!” Some of the brighter claimed it was the other way around, but why would he be trading ‘favors’ with such an attractive young woman was beyond him. She was certainly out of his class.

Clinton”Stores”Reed, Supercargo

It took a great deal of effort not to accidently spit her drink out as she shook with suppressed laughter. The worse the rumour was the more entertaining for them. “Given my job, it seems like it should be the other way around.” she chuckled, “Is there some syndicate I’m fleeing from too? Its beginning to sound like a cliche holofilm teenage boys like watching. You know? The ones where not a lot happens except things explode and people fight,”

Lt. Janvier, CMO

“ I did say they were a little low brow.” Stores chuckled. ‘A few thought it was the other way around, but I wouldn’t have a chance in that department.” Not that he wasn’t attracted to her, but he enjoyed her company and verbal sparing so much he was unwilling to risk what they had for something more.

“ loose win or draw I figure I owe you a dinner anyway, just for putting up with my mangy self.” Again with a wink and a flirty grin.

Clinton”Stores”Reed, Supercargo

“I think you definitely won on some level,” Janvier smirked, “But if you can put up a meal as well as you can replicate coffee I’d be a fool to turn your offer down.” She took another gulp of coffee. Already her mouth was watering. She’d never thought using a replicator required much knack before she met Stores. Although there was nothing wrong with replicated food homemade food had always tasted better. She hadn’t really realised it until Sores had changed up the recipe. Replicators were just too perfect, they didn’t leave anything to the imagination. There was no spice stronger than another, or a touch to much butter on one potato, it was all the same. Perfect and boring.

“It might be better if you cook anyway,” she joked, “I’ve only ever had to cook for Enj, I shudder to think what it might look taste like to anybody else.”

Lt. Janvier, CMO

“ Oh, I have certainly wone! “Stores grinned. “How about I send you a menu and you let me know what you would like to try and and when you are available.” The rumors would really start flying now! he couldn’t stop grinning at the idea.

Clinton”Stores”Reed, Supercargo

OOC: I have no idea how I missed this. I apologise.

IC: “Sounds like a good idea to me,” Elaine returned his grin with one of her own, reaching over to ruffle Enj’s ears. She was happy to agree that Stores had won, but she didn’t feel like she had lost either. “Is the pup invited, or do I need to find a doggy-sitter for the night?”
