The doctor nodded once pulling out her tricorder and approaching stores to get a visual look at the skin in it’s distressed state. “A man of your ranking has likely worn one or two of these uniforms before. Have you not gotten a negative reaction while wearing your previous uniforms?” The small flap on the tricorder flipped up to display information as she hovered the tip over the angry skin. “Do you have any known allergies Lieutenant? ” She asked, analyzing the numbers that were lighting up the small monitoring window. When the device beeped softly, Riari reached out to help anchor the undershirt away from his skin so he could let go.

No m’am, never had a problem with my compression body glove or overalls. This is the first time I have been authorized a Fleet uniform.

“You have the look of someone who has needed skin regenerations in the past, was that procedure the result of a similar problem in the past?” The Ensign was all business now, her eyes focused on his neck and collar as she spoke, looking up only when she waited for his response.

-Ensign Riari

Na, plasma burns. They had to regrow most of my lower arms and face. Engineering can get ugly.

Even the superficial scans showed a tracery of nano wires imbedded in his central nervous system and signs of extensive regenerative surgery covering a period ranging from almost two decades to less than one. Combined with the radiation damage and signs of continued radiation and telomere therapies it was obvious the man before her was a veteran who had seen the worse of it.

She had opened her mouth to reply to his initial comment, but what she had intended to say died at the tip of her tongue, lips snapping shut as she looked back at the scanner and back at him. “Ah.” Was all she could think to say about the plasma burns, much less the nanowires embedded deep below the second hand dermal. She released her hold on his collar, the fabric shifting back into place to hide the irritation and perhaps add more discomfort to the problem. “My guess is your skin is having an allergic reaction of some sort to the fabrics. Perhaps an unintended side effect of the regeneration paired with your DNA. This only started after you started wearing the new uniform correct?”

“Yes M’am.” Stores nodded.

Riari canted her head again to one side in thought before nodding. “Is the itching a widespread effect or are you only feeling it on your upper torso? Perhaps where the undershirt is touching your skin. What about your legs? Your feet?” She moved away from him, walking to an examination bed and patting the top of it. Tapping on a monitor at the bedside she engaged a privacy screen to shield the small section of the sickbay from view. “If you don’t mind, please remove the top of your uniform so we can get a better look.” She turned to the small viewscreen beside the sickbed and typed in a few commands. “Best case your skin reaction just needs a bit of a steroid cream to right itself out. I will run an allergy test to either confirm or rule that probability. Tell me, was your compression glove and overalls obtained via replicator or was it tailored for you?”

-Dr. Riari Vaais

“Replicated, You can’t get the funk out of an exo glove otherwise.” Looking at the Doctor at her instructions to remove his tunic and shirt he grinned. “Oh, the new rumors are going to be golden.” As he did as instructed. It was apparent that the regenerated skin was irritated were the uniform touched it, with the skin of the neck the worse. Further the bio bed exposed the source of the nano wire, as what appears to be an extensive artificial arachnoid tumor. An extensive positronic network was draped over his brain like a spiderweb became apparent in the scans.

[ooc: If you have something in mind for whats happening to his skin feel free to drop hints or tell me ooc. I can bs something but I would hate for it to be something you dislike for your character lol. ]

Dr. Vaais arched her brow at this comment about the rumors. “Oh? Are you often prone to engaging in activity that feeds the rumor mill Lt. Stores.” The tone was matter of fact, like the question was just one of the many she had asked of him so far. But then she added as checked over the scans, she whistled softly at the nano wire network in his body paired with the fancy internal headwear, “If anyone comes to me asking after your purity and virture, I will be sure to tell them I am not overly attracted to itchy men, thus atleast one rumor can be put to bed for you.” She looked away from the monitor to give him a teasing smile before typing a few things into the keypad and returning to his side on the bio bed.

“Unfortunately I do feed the rumor mill, and Elaine and I have made a game of betting one another as to who’s department comes up with the best.”

“Well that complicates things a little. If your previous clothing was also replicated it would be indentical in material structure. The only other thing I can think of is the texture is what is bothing you.” She replied in regards to his answer before she moved to touch the inner garment, rubbing the material between her fingertips. Just to be certain she put the discarded clothing in to scanner just to make sure the clothing had not been tampered with. “Do you feel like perhaps the material is just to coarse? We might be able to put in a special request for you to have a softer garment coded in the replicator for you, or something with more compression to keep away friction based irritation.” She shifted her eyes from his to look over his bare irritated skin. Pulling a glove from her lab coat she pulled it on, before lightly touching near an affected area, shifting the smooth skin with a little pressure as she bent to get a closer look at the way the skin was reacting.

-Dr Vaais

OOC, your the Doctor, do what you like. Stores is a life long merchant marine, born in space. The uniform is new to him. it may well be psychosomatic ;-) so have fun. It will be one more crazy Stores story.

“Most of my life I have had to be able to suit up in a moments notice Doc, this is the first time I have really spent any length of time wearing something else.”
