Side Sim: MY Quarters (Tag ALL JG officers and lower ranks)

Posted Dec. 7, 2020, 2:08 p.m. by Ensign Kerilah Winter (Assistant Counselor) (Kimberly Tenneson)

Kerilah finished chopping the last of the peppers and was straining the brine of the Hasperat for her souffle. She had already plated all the canapes and the chilled oysters and sushi were beautifully arranged on the ice bed when she decided to resume her log entry…

“I’m not sure what my new responsibilities as Assistant Counselor will be, or how they will mesh with my current duties, but I’m confident that it will be a way for me
to further hone my skills. I think Dr. Janvier and I will get on well, and I really liked Counselor Gadi. Of course, I haven’t met the Captain yet, but Commander
Renveer seems dedicated, and brilliant. Personally, I find the man distracting though. He’s incredibly handsome and genuine, but there’s something beneath the
surface that’s… sad. I’ve got too much on my plate right now to worry about my romantic chances with the ship’s XO! Still, I know myself and I’m definitely going to
find out if he’s seeing anyone.
Currently, I am finishing preparations for my ‘open house welcome’. I’m nervous. I start duty tomorrow morning and wanted to meet a few of my crewmates before I
see them on the job. I didn’t invite Senior Staff because I wanted everyone to be at ease. Plus, it gives me a chance to be myself, too. I hope the gamble pays off
though. It was a bold move to plan a social event when you don’t know anyone. …Funny. I’m not feeling very bold right now”.

Kerilah was cooking down the peppers, now and preparing the filling. She took out a spoon and gave the mixture a little taste, before deciding on what to add, if anything. The first wave of heat spread through the flesh of her lip with a bite, then abruptly disappeared; allowing for the second, more subtle wave of capsaicin to begin firing the receptors in her tongue. [A bit more brine] Keri thought to herself. She loved cooking. It relaxed her. Which she needed right now because her little gathering was scheduled to begin in about 30 minutes and she had no idea what to expect. She took a deep swallow of her Spring Wine and went back to the souffle.

Once the souffle was cooking, Keri went to get dressed. Something simple, but comfortable yet still stylish. She took her hair out of its tether and the curls spilled down, over her shoulders. When she returned to her make-shift kitchenette, she couldn’t help but smile. She had invested quite a lot in having a scaled-down professional stove reconfigured to avoid fire hazards, but she needed to cook, not replicate some meals! And though she didn’t know if it had been the Commander or the Captain, but she had gotten approval to keep it with her when she was assigned to The Dresden. The souffle still had another 10 minutes, but she could open the door now and just see who showed up.
