An involuntary pause grabbed Keri as she stood before the door to sickbay, second-guessing herself. She took a deep breath and remembered that she had felt the same way her first day at Starfleet Academy. This too shall pass, she thought and walked through looking for someone to speak to. It seemed fairly quiet and at first, she didn’t see anyone, then she saw the Doctor at her desk.

“Ensign Winter, reporting for duty”, she said with a calmness that surprised, even her. “If I may, do you prefer Doctor, Ma’am or Sir? It seems to come down to Officer preference and I don’t want to presume”.

Kerilah’s loose, curly hair was pulled back in a clip away from her face as she stood at attention in her pressed uniform, the cool blue on her shoulders indicating Medical, making her feel at least 5 cm taller than usual and waited for the woman to instruct her.

<BUMP?>

OOC: Aplogies it’s taken so long. I’ve been preoccupied with work.

IC: The woman at the desk looked up, her own dark blonde hair was tied back into a neat bun. “Just Doctor will do,” she smiled, her green/grey eyes shone kindly as she took in the Ensign standing before her. There was something in nervous, crisp way in the presentation that reminded Janvier of the time she had done the same thing before her first CMO aboard the Ixlilton.

“At ease Ensign,” she said gesturing to the chair facing the desk. “Take a seat. I was just about to read through your file, but since you’re here you might save me some reading and tell me a little about yourself.”

Lt. Janvier, CMO

Kerilah relaxed a bit and sat down in the chair. Dr. Janvier had a kind face. She crossed her legs and thought about the question for a moment, “Well, as you know this is my first assignment, so I don’t have too much to tell you about myself professionally yet. I graduated the Academy with Honors, with a focus in Xenobiology and a secondary degree in Forensic Psychology”. She looked at the woman behind the desk and smiled as if hoping the Doctor would kindly on her humor.

“I have a sister and two brothers. My father is Starfleet - retired. I lost my mother almost 4 1/2 years ago now. I come from a long line of Doctors and Counselors, so I guess I’ve always felt it was a part of me. I love music and cooking. I’m competitive, but I always try to keep it constructive. I’m an avid Springball player and I like to swim. I’m more than a little nervous, as I know no one on board but overall, I’m excited to be here”. Keri looked into the woman’s cool, grey eyes and felt a sudden easiness she couldn’t explain, but she appreciated it. “What else would you like to know, Doctor?”

(Dr. Winter, Ens.)

OOC: No, worries! I’m just glad you were able to help me finish my ‘rounds’ to begin duty! I appreciate your time. Has Ben talked with you about the shift into more Counselor-esque responsibilities? I’d like to take advantage, but wherever I can be of the most use. Let me know? Thx.
