After communications between the Lidrians and the crew of the Dresden had been established, the tale unfolded quickly.

The staff of the observatory had detected an unknown object in space. Investigation led to a large satellite-type object that had been struck by, perhaps, a piece of space debris. The satellite was non-functional, but a power supply had been found and removed, and then brought back to the station. A day after the object was brought aboard, a strange alien vessel had arrived. After some difficulty in communication, clear understanding was established and the Lidrians sent a contingent on board to retrieve the object… a power supply that the Lidrians used in their vast communications satellite network. When the device was about to be contained, it experienced a catastrophic power surge and due to it’s temporal qualities, brought into existence a temporal field that locked the station and the majority of the Lidrian vessel inside.

The Dresden arrived almost three weeks after the incident.

Working together, the crew of the Dresden was able to breach the temporal field by streaming anti-chronitons around Shalir and her aid, thus enabling them to take their containment equipment on board the station and get it around the power core. As soon as the core was contained, the field vanished as if it had never been. Suffice to say, as conversations resumed form the instant they had been frozen and suddenly more Lidrians and unknown Fleet Security officers were standing in the lab, the staff of the station were understandably confused. After explanations form both the Lidrian contingent and Captain Holloway and her crew, the situation was determined to have been handled to everyone’s satisfaction.

A few days passed as the Lidrians showed how their satellites worked. Interestingly, the power for the devices came forma kind of metal native to their planet Lidria VII. The metal existed in all times simultaneously, so charging the metal charged it in all points in time, and allowed the device to draw power from itself, thus creating a perpetual energy system. Unfortunately for all involved, the metal was determined to be breaking down. In just a few years, the Lidrian’s network would fail permanently and they would be isolated.

It was determined by Star Fleet Special Projects that a scientific and cultural exchange program would be instigated, sending Star Fleet and Federation Scientists and dip[lomatic personnel to Lidria VII, and bringing Lidrian volunteers to Federation and Star Fleet facilities. Two volunteers were even sent to the Dresden as observers, while a Marine officer and Star Fleet officer form the Dresden were sent to the flagship of the Lidrian fleet in the same capacity. As the years moved on, the Lidrians would eventually become Federation members.

The staff and crew of the Julian Echo station had no lasting effects of the temporal field, and were soon back up and running at full speed. Over the course of the station’s tenure, many discoveries were made and theories tested. And no matter how trivial or great, ant such data was shared with the science team assigned to the Dresden as thanks for saving them.

As for the Dresden, it’s adventures would continue as the ship and her illustrious crew pushed back the boundaries of space and stood firm against the enemies of the Federation.

THE END

GMT

OOC: Applauds! Congratulations James! I’m sorry I missed most of it. I’ve enjoyed the last week immensely, though.

Agreed! Well done. I’ll miss Drillek, but I’m glad his family is well and whole again lol

Loved it!

(If you aren’t made GM after this, I’ll kick shins…I mean it hehehe)

This was amazing! Congratulations James! I’m so happy you could do your GMT on the Dresden! I know the sim didn’t go as fast as you wanted it to go at times, but thank you for bearing with us through it all! I do have to mention this though: where’s the overly dramatic and emotional reunion between Drillek and his son!? :p

Congratulations again on a wonderful first sim! Here’s to many more! :)

Cheers,
Joana

OOC: I have really enjoyed the time spent with this post and these characters, many thanks to Ben Z for inviting me over to the Dresden. Looking forward to new challenges and adventures.
