Holloway had left this one purposely for last, mostly because she felt nervous about it, and she wasn’t sure why. The man had proved himself time and time again and she was sure that sooner rather than later, he would likely have a ship of his own.
She sighed, trying to find a way to bypass her anxiety. Molly wondered if it was the fact that he was her counselor and had learnt so much about her that made it ever more awkward. Or maybe it was because she genuinely felt like he was better than her at the job, and deserved much more to be in the center chair of the Bridge. She would never know.
Tapping her commbadge yet again, she called her own Executive Officer to see her. =/\= Holloway to Renveer. Would you mind dropping by my Ready Room whenever you’re able to? Thanks! Holloway out. =/\=
Renveer answered the summons in a timely but not immediate manner. He was finishing up another shift as a stand-in counselor while they awaited a new one to be assigned. Days like this one gave him nostalgia for his previous position, and at the same time… made him appreciate how far he’d come. There was a time when he could not have imagined being anything other than a counselor, but here he was, an executive officer reporting to the captain.
Of course for his part, Renveer saw this meeting as nothing out of the ordinary. Molly could have any number of reasons to want to speak to him. So it was with a relaxed air about him that Renveer pressed the chime and awaited the doors to open. He would step through when they did so and offer a friendly “Good evening” as a short greeting.
