Anisha smiled at the comment, warming up to T’Pris. “Yes that’s correct, it will be here soon.” she kept smiling at T’Pris a bit longer and added.
“Say, you are telepathic as well? As in, without touch?” she asked carefully.

  • Anisha

“Yes. Though my people do have some with high psi quotients, I was typical telepathically wise until an unusual contact with a strongly telepathic species that unintentionally altered my paracortex. Increasing my telepathic ability and range. It has proven…a mixed gift. Tressex has postulated a way to reverse the effect but I am not certain I wish too. ” T’Pris stopped suddenly and turned to stare at Anisha. She normally wasn’t so forthright and open and wondered what about the other woman had suddenly made her so. She sensed no mental persuasion. She noted the other woman’s warm smile and wondered if it was the sense of friendliness she was emitting that had drawn it from her. Adrian Sorel would have a theory for it no doubt, she mused. She turned back to the console as there was no way she could take back what she had shared now.

She then felt something that was by all intense and purpose a mental knock on her mind’s door so to say, clearly coming from Anisha in a very soft and tender way, ready to withdraw at a blink.
“That sounds like an intriguing story to tell, thank you for sharing that with …us. I’d love to have somebody else on the ship to whom I could talk telepathically. It’s so much faster and easier than words.” Anisha said, somewhat shyly.

  • Anisha

Still feeling slightly uncomfortable T’Pris answered. Her telepathic sending wasn’t as smooth or as confident as Anisha’s.Indeed. Her mental voice was as dry and emotionless as her audio voice would have been.

Anisha simply gave her a warm smile and nodded.

Melaia turned as the door to the lab opened and people entered. Her ebony eyes were fixated on the tray a med officer was wearing and she could see it was a similar creature to the female. “Looks like we’re about to have a family reunion,” she said with a hint of excitement.

~Melaia Reez

T’Pris’ brow rose but she swiftly stepped back to allow the NE’s to approach.

NE Ferso smiled at everyone, with Ally and Pilar in tow. “Howdy folks. I have a present for you. Or rather, for her,” he said gazing at the container. “It’ll just be a moment.” He set the tray down on the table near the container and then moved over to a console.

Ferso tapped his commbadge. =/\=Alright. We’re ready.=/\=

The male gastropod shimmered and was beamed into the hydrogen-rich container along with the female and the eggs.

For a couple minutes, nothing happened, but the telepaths would note that the anger from the male has faded quickly. The female’s vital were still strong and the male’s were improving.

“I am noticing a drop in aggressive emotion from the male creature.”T’Pris murmured as she continued to monitor the female and young. She wasn’t directly tied to the male at the moment but could definitely feel the other creatures emotions once he was near the female. “The females vitals are strong and stable.”

As the male got stronger, things changed. it wasn’t obvious at first, but soon they would see that the two gastropods were moving closer together. When they touched, they began to glow. The computer noted the electrochemical communication, of which the patterns showing on the screen were very close to what one would expect of brain scans during active thoughts. The two creatures exuded happiness and almost a relief.

T’Pris’ breath rushed out in surprise as she noted the reaction and she took a quick step toward the container. “They recognize each other. I sense positive emotion and lessening of stress. I also sense …”She cocked her head as she probed gently with her mind toward the pair.”I think they are communicating in some manner. I sense an exchange of information or perhaps it is emotion.”She glanced up at Anisha.”Can you get anymore from them?”

T’Pris Psychobiologist

None of the telepaths could pick up direct thoughts, but the emotion was very strong.

~Mischief Maker

“Would you look at that,” Mel said softly, unable to stop the smile that had slipped onto her face. But more than that, she could herself so suddenly emotional at their joy that actual tears slipped down her cheeks. “I’m not picking up thoughts, just emotions. But they glowed when they touched. Maybe they aren’t just empathic but touch telepaths?” Reez suggested, moving closer as if drawn by the parental unit. She had no idea if they shared familial practices at all, but she was not only fascinated by them but also felt something of a kindredness with them. It was as if she understood such a reunion as they were having. Her and Jon had more than a couple in their time together and so it resonated with her.

Pilar watched and let the other empaths do their magic, she wasn’t sure what she was witnessing but it was a tender moment that much she could tell.

OOC: So, I’m going to continue this as a Plot C(!) side sim thing running in the background since we have the answer to the main sim questions. The gastropods can’t go anywhere for the time being, so they are around for the time being for people to learn about. There’s more to learn! ;) I’m going to go ahead and get the next sim started. Thanks for your patience with this one. It was supposed to be a short one, but it didn’t work out to be as short as I had expected.

~Linds

Once the male gastropod appeared to be settled in with the female and offspring, T’Pris began to run more in-depth scans on them. She was curious about their actual physical make-up and how they had empathic centers in their brain. After all most gastropods only had a rudimentary neural network, one only complex enough to run automatic functions. Not usually one complex enough to have emotions or cognitive skills. And there must be something of a cognitive system in their neural make-up to allow them understanding of emotions. She set up a program to map the neuropathic pathways.

OOC: So can move the designation for this thread to Side Sim?

Krys

Anisha nodded to T’Pris, a large smile on her face. “Yes I feel it, they are so happy. Now we just have to make sure that they, and their children survive and somehow return them to their home… where is their home?” she asked.
