The shimmer of the transporter fell away from Drake’s eyes. He took in the scene around him. “I’ve worked with worse.” He followed the Captain toward anyone resembling an officer.

-Dr Drake Marshall

Mark materialised and looked around. He heard Drake’s comment. “Worked with worse? What were you expecting?” Who did this guy think he was?

-Lt(j.g.) Mark Pierce, CE
OOC: Double the fun. Two characters in one thread.

Pilar rematerialized on the surface with the others and took in the surroundings and adjusted her med kit “Let’s get going folks. We need to get out of the weather as much as we can.”

Michael appeared as well. He had to explain to his niece that her coming down to the planet would be a BAD IDEA (TM), not only for her, but also for him as her guardian. Besides, she had a project to completed for her schooling and it was due within the week. So Michael was down here on away team duty, and she was up in their quarters either practicing her swear words or working on her project. He hoped it was the latter of the two options, because the former of them meant she wasn’t being productive with her time and would take her frustration over lack of time to work on her assignment on him, which would result in a further stream of foul language flowing out of her mouth.

He nodded to the others, pulled out his tricorder and began to scan.

  • Easter, Eng

OOC: I’ve rolled with the extra staff the CofStaff mentioned and have added them to my GM Characters. They’ve beamed down too (Ensign Daniel Carr and Lt. Emily Shapiro, a newly graduated doctor and an experience nurse respectively). Also, not sure what you’re scanning for, so I’ll wing it. I’m also going to link an image to the original layout of the clinic so you have a reference for what they are currently working with after the storm damage (ie. most of the front half of the clinic).
IC:
Easter’s readings showed that in the immediate area there were 75 people, including the Ogawa crew, but excluding the Klingons and few Romulans that lived up in the old compound still. Several people were inside, while the rest were in the camp area next to the clinic.

Stepping out of the front door of the rather rough looking clinic was a fairly tall woman with dark skin and a dark hair closely cropped to her head. She was wearing a medical blue uniform that looked rather lived in already, despite still being morning. Her face looked almost haggard but the moment she saw the Ogawa’s crew, there was a slight pulling back of her shoulders and lift of a chin as her eyes expressed relief. “You have no idea how happy I am to see you all,” she said as she approached the group. Spotting Willow, she offered the Ogawa’s CO her hand. “Commander Bosede Xerdosa, Commanding Officer of this rather mud laden place,” she said with a fairly heavy accent. “Come with me and let’s get out of the rain. Be warned, it’ll be a tight fit.”

Willow took the hand with a warm smile and shook it. “Captain Willow Taylor of the Uss Ogawa. Happy to help.”

With a glance back at the away team to ensure they were ready to move Willow gladly followed, introductions could wait for drier conditions.

Leading them through the door she had come out, Xerdosa kicked her boots against the doorframe to knock off any mud and nonchalantly moved into what would normally have been the reception and triage area and now doubled as Primary Care as well. There was currently only a young Romulan woman there sitting patiently on a makeshift bed. The place was as tidy and clean as you could get given there were little in the way of environmental controls and the outside weather seemed to sneak its way in in small amounts. Most of the right side and some of the back of the clinic was blocked off and sealed with some sort of plastic as tightly as possible. The plastic billowed slightly, indicating that it was open to some sort of breeze on the other side.

Willow followed Xerdosa’s lead and moved carefully in so that there was as much room as possible for them to gather.

Commander Xerdosa looked around the half-lit clinic. “So, as you can tell things are… rough around here. The storm a couple weeks ago took out our main surgical area and storage, along with most of main power supplies. Since then, we’ve been operating on emergency power and power cells and saving the bulk of it for our makeshift surgical bay so that we can have as sterile an area as possible, and also have the ability to replicate medicines.” She gestured towards the back of the clinic. “We’ve got a couple people in recovery and one person in Long-Term. The rest that mostly come through here are those who just arrived and need a medical clearance in order to take up residence in the camp, and also those who arrived here with injuries or acquire them them here.”

As the woman spoke Willow glanced around.

She exhaled and held up her hands slightly defensively. “I am so grateful that you are here, but I also need you to understand that as bad as things have been, there is a system here and this is my clinic. Regardless of construction plans and whatnot, big decisions are mine to make and we know these people best. Some have been here for months. So, when in doubt, ask one of us before you just jump on in. Despite losing our main computer last week, we do have a record system for most of the refugees.” As she was speaking, the man from the comm appeared at Bosede’s side and gave them a wave. “And this Lieutenant Mayur Joshi, our security officer who is also a medic. My psuedo first officer is our psychologist, Lieutenant Commander Yirn, and our other Doctor is Ensign Anni Rinne. Both are out on rounds in the camp right now and will be here shortly to meet you all.”

With a nodd Willow indicated her away team. “I understand Commander. We want to do whatever we can to help but will of course respect your set up and authority as much as is possible. Please allow me to introduce my away team. Our engineering team, chief engineer Lieutenant Mark Pierce and Lieutenant Michael Easter. Some of our medical staff, Lieutenant Commander Pilar O’Keefe our Head Nurse, Lieutenant Drake Marshall our head of Surgery and Emergency Medicine specialist. Ensign Daniel Carr medical officer and Lt. Emily Shapiro, nurse.” She said indicating each one in turn.

“And Lieutenant Isabel Delaney, Security.” Izzy said with a half smile as she walked to where the rest of them had gathered. She had taken a quick moment to look around at the exterior building layout before following the Captain and the rest of the away team.

“Perhaps our engineering team could see what they could do about getting you some.more power while we talk.”

Pilar nodded as she was introduced and waited to get to work “What are some of the things we’re facing down here medical wise?” She asked as she looked around the area.
