When thinking of an educator, the thought of a broad-shouldered, warrior-like Klingon didn’t exactly come to mind. With beady eyes that would probably murder a student before her lips could produce the first ‘good morning,’ Echego wasn’t exactly the epitome of the modern major teacher. In fact, she seemed everything but that. A smile as guesome as hers would better serve a cage of lions than a school of pubescent teens, but perhaps looks could truly be deceiving.

Pinching the bridge of her nose, she tried to relieve herself of the thoughts of that nagging human aboard the transportation vessel. Echego could still hear her voice, playing on a broken record, antagonizing her ears in its high-pitched squeal. Shaking her head, she set her bags down, glancing crookedly about the small quarters. Honestly, Echego never spent enough of her time confined to a room, to much care about what her quarters looked like. Really, the ill mannered woman was more concerned about her classroom, rather than her quarters.

Throwing one last odd glance at the petite room, she ventured beyond its threshold, heading for the only area of the ship she could actually locate without needing assistance. Preferring to come prepared, Echego was always searching for a better understanding of the world around her, whether that meant navigating the local high school, or a McCoy-Class starship, painstakingly searching for a classroom. Despite all of the attitude she packed within that broad physique, she did have the brain to match and just enough compassion to make her elligible to teach.

The click of her heels the only company she wished to receive, she headed down the corridors towards the classroom, hoping it was better stocked than her previous one had been. Gha! She could still visualize the poorly stocked classroom, with its lack of data and poor access for students. How did they expect her to teach? Gather them around in a circle and speak to them, without them having the opportunity to write down notes or have any visual of what she was saying? Barbaric!

Grumbling at the thought, she rose her head, searching for the classroom, maintaining that odd hope that she wouldn’t be faced with a mess of what the previous teacher had left– if there was ever a previous one.

When Em’ujo reached the area that had been designated a classroom she would find only one occupant in it. He was a young Vulcan teen and he sat at the table with padds scattered about him, working studious on another. He appeared to be so absorbed in his work that he didn’t hear her entrance, that or it was the earbuds that could just be seen nestled in his ears under his untidily cut hair.

Glancing about the classroom, she seemed to scrutinize it, judging every inch of its layout, until her gaze came across a young Vulcan, sitting alone in his studies. Quietly, as not to disturb him, she made her way over, to check on what he was doing, half out of curiosity and half to figure out where he was in his education. Once close enough, she stayed put for a few moments, before choosing to speak anyways, hardly considering that she might scare the boy. “What are you working on?” She questioned, her voice quite apparent, although she wondered if it could be heard over whatever he was listening to.

The padds would show that his study program was quite advanced and heavy in the sciences, the padd in front of him appeared to be about the physics of sound. There were various longitudinal and transverse waves on screen with math equations. Whatever he was listening too wasn’t too loud as he did look up to Em’ujo,
“I have been learning about the physics of sound, Lieutenant Tressex has been tutoring me.”

If Adrian had not been Vulcan– or part Vulcan (she wasn’t positive), Echego would have had to fight off the conflict of being impressed by the student. Then again, she still held consideration for his capabilities, as anyone in the right mind would. Although, she suspected he would require far more advanced education than some of the opposing students, judging by what she could see upon his PaDD. A challenge all in itself.

“Have you found the course to be challenging to your abilities, Mister..?” Unlike most teachers, her voice was not soft, nor caring. Instead, she seemed more like a Drill Sargeant than anything else, but she meant the question the same: to make certain he felt his skills were being put to proper use.

Adrian Sorel was not put off by her tone, in fact he straightened and took out his ear buds as if he was facing a Vulcan instructor. Indeed this woman acted more like his Vulcan instructors had then any human one. He thought she might be Klingon but was too well mannered to ask.

“Adrian Sorel, Ma’am. Yes, I would say it is challenging and interesting. I have struggled to find out where I want my studies to take me. My mother wishes me to go into the Sciences but my greater interest is with music. Lieutenant Tressex says I could study the science of sound and combine both interests.” The boy probably would have gone on but the doors opening stopped him and he looked over curiously, hoping it might be Cai.

Folding her arms over her chest, Echego listened carefully to the young student. She scowled at the thought of his conflict. “You have time to figure out what you want to do in life. Honouring your mother’s wishes would be the proper course to take, but not everything in this universe has to be proper. So long as you hold the honour of your family close to you heart, you can pursue whatever path you deem necessary. You need not be weighed down by the preferences of others, Mister Sorel.”

The doors swooshed open and a young girl entered. She was barely 15 but was already full figured. Her cloths were modern but in a grunge style that suited her very short, ultra red hair. Her chocolate skin was flawless but her scowl was severe. She seemed unimpressed that a Klingon was standing in the room. She approached and handed the teacher a PaDD. “My transcripts from my school at Starbase 157. I’m new.” She didn’t seemed thrilled at all to be here.

“I see.” A deadpanned response from the Klingon, as she took the transcripts, quickly glancing over them.

“Hey. I’m Adrian Sorel.” Adrian Sorel studied the young human girl curiously. He noted her clothing and hair and as it was so close to what Cai wore he wondered if it was a human thing for ‘teenagers’.

Adrian Sorel

“Sadee. Good to meet ya, Pointy.” She found an empty desk nearby and slumped into it. She pulled a mini padd out of her pocket. It was obvious it had been broken and repaired in several places. She popped the wireless earbuds into her ears. “Whatya listening to?” She asked Adrian.

Adrian Sorel blinked,”Ah…just some recordings that I have made. It is part of my science of sound project for Lieutenant Tressex.” He looked a bit embarrassed or unsure about what he was saying.

Noticing the teens were avidly discussing, Em’ujo chose to make her way around the classroom, her gaze clearly unimpressed by its setup. At least, while the students were busy, she had time to go over things.
