Adrian Sorel blinked,”Ah…just some recordings that I have made. It is part of my science of sound project for Lieutenant Tressex.” He looked a bit embarrassed or unsure about what he was saying.

Adrian Sorel

Sadee smiled for the first time reveal a glowing white smile and dimples in her brown cheeks that rarely showed themselves. She tapped a few buttons on her mini padd and transmitted a file to the Vulcan. “Give that a listen,” she smirked. The music the Vulcan would here was a very grungy, metallic grating, junk band. “They’re the Sonic Screwdrivers. Most people think they are an homage band to the the late 21st century post-apocalyptic junk band movement. But if you listen to the underlying melody, you can hear the sarcasm. They are actually a satire band. Listen closely to the very deep vibrating undertones.” She smiled as if she were listening to a joke rather than music. “See how the melody goes up at the end of the phrase? It turns the lyric, ‘We will rise up like the drones and lay day our metal lives,’ into a question. Ironic, right?” she laughed and threw herself back into her seat.

Adrian Sorel nodded as he listened to what Sadee had transmitted,”Yeah, I hear it.” A smile creased his normally Vulcan visage as he realized he might have found another kindred spirit. If he, Cai and Sadee could get together on the holodeck they might really make some music!

Noticing the teens were avidly discussing, Em’ujo chose to make her way around the classroom, her gaze clearly unimpressed by its setup. At least, while the students were busy, she had time to go over things.

Again the doors swooshed open and into the room slouched Cai. His hood of his purple coloured hoodie up as always the mop of electric blue hair fell over his eyes as he typed a message on his mini padd and did not look up. The thudding beats of his music were drowned out to a buzzing noise by the earbuds. Ignoring them all he walked to the main computer desk, logged himself as present and turning back started towards the door again.

Sadee’s smile quickly vanished when the newcomer entered. He was beautiful. Too beautiful for words. She felt a lump in her throat and her face flushed. She suddenly grew very self-conscious and slumped forward in her seat attempting to hide her curves.

Half way there he glanced at Adrian, then saw the two people he didn’t know and raised one bar pierced fair coloured eyebrow and chewed slightly on his lip ring. The dark titanium band moved slightly as he considered the girl he didn’t know and the woman, clearly a teacher. Oh well freedom was fun while it lasted. The sound of his music lessened slightly as he turned down the volume but didn’t put it off.

Sadee tried to force herself not to look at the boy, but she couldn’t help but take occasional glances. Everything about him oozed cool.

“Well you look about as happy to be here as we are to have you.”he told her
Cai

“You might as well turn off your music for the time being, you won’t be needing it.” Even though it sounded like a suggestion, her voice begged to say it was something far different. She was not bothered by his statement, having taught high school before. However, that did not stop her from responding to him. “I should doubt either side are pleased to be here,” She deadpanned, studying the boy with a brief look of scrutiny. “What is your name?” She questioned, her tone demanding without a hint of consideration for how the boy might feel.

Glancing to the two other students, she chose to wait in calling them over, expecting there was at least one other student to arrive. Then again, she had yet the chance to check her roster, but that was the first thing in mind after speaking with this kid, whose attitude she assumed may be bigger than his brain. But she hoped she was wrong about that.

“I’m fine with it on thanks.” He said cooly, however with a roll of his eyes he turned his back on her and striding to a chair dropped into it. He pulled his mini padd out and started another message ignoring the rest of the class and her question. It was not as though he expected her to remain ignorant long, one glance at the plans and the class roster would tell her his name and his current academic standing. As it transpired the boys attitude was as big as his brain as his transcript listed him as working at AP level with all of his subject areas. There was also a note that stated he had been expelled from his last school for hacking the mainframe and spray painting the results to the math final across the gymnasium the day before the exam. It also listed him as playing two instruments and martial arts. Finally a note from his previous guidance counsellor who advised that he not be left unattended around any computer or lab equipment as he had proven in her words “time and again to be a resourceful and fast working nuisance should the destructive mood take him.” All in all Cai Taylor was a Brain with an attitude rather than an attitude without a brain.

Cai

Shaking her head, deciding she would deal with his behaviour at a alter time, she made her way over to the front of the classroom, pulling up the current roster of students assigned to this specific class. Amongst them, she found Cai, glancing over at the boy who refused to turn off his music. Quickly reading over his transcripts, she was surprised, but not pleasantly so. In fact, she found it a bit.. sad that he chose to use his intellectual prowess for such demeaning subjects. Truly, an unfortunate use of a perfectly healthy mind. Noting his previous disciplinary events, she moved on.

Suddenly, and without warning the PaDD containing the Sadee’s transcripts which she had given the teacher began emitting a very high pitched squelch. It grew louder and more intense. Sadee, turned up her music and nodded at Sorel to do the same. Finally, when the PaDD reached a peak the sound would be unbearable to anyone, deafening to anyone with sensitive ears, it began emitting sparks and smoking angrily, it grew hot and spewed flames.

-Sadee

Adrian Sorel quickly turned up the music on his own player and as it still playing what Sadee had given him it dampened the effects of the imploding padd. His eyes widened as he watched to see their new teacher’s reaction to this prank. He was a bit aghast as he had never seen this sort of behavior even on Earth. Mind you he had only attended the human school for Starfleet children on the grounds of the Academy. And it did not happen at all on Vulcan.

Cai frowned as the lads started going off and looking back at Adrian considered him then glanced at the girl. The corner of his mouth quirked into a crooked sort of half smile.

Adrian Sorel

“What is this?” The teacher did not seem fased, but it was hard to tell if this was because of her emotional stupidity or the fact she had been pranked before, either were plausible. Setting the PaDD down, she flipped it over, trying to get into the PaDD before it imploded, if Sadee had gone as far as to actually allow for it to. Hastily, she began deconstructing it, hoping to get in before there was a mess in the classroom. Alas, her engineering skills were nothing compared to her history. And that, for this moment, was not a good thing.

OOC: Leaving this relatively vague, so you can have Sadee/yourself decide what happens. :)

The flame were an issue, the ship was sensitive by nature of being a medical ship. The fire relevant systems would kick in any moment. The alarm went off warning them it was imminent and he considered. If he brought Willow down on them then he would get the blame and though it didn’t actually bother him he couldn’t be bothered with the effort it would take to argue with her.

He got to his feet, hands stuffed deep in his hoodie pocket and approaching the desk and more or less shoving his way in assessed the padd and quickly with a few deft movements stopped the programme. It was difficult and very very well done. Someone with considerable skill in engineering and with a rebellious streak. The alarm stopped and is, his fingers blackened slightly, handed the twisted remains of the PaDD to Em’ujo and walked away back to his chair.

He gave the girl a look, his pale eyes so light blue they could almost appear silver glinted as though amused but he didn’t speak simply sat, pulled his mini PaDD out and a few others from his bag and went back to the report that he had been writing the night before for a first year cadet. Alien physiology specifically the heart systems of the Andorran and it’s difference compared to other humanoid anatomy. it wasn’t that he disliked medicine in fact he did like it but he couldn’t tell willow that of course. The report was nearly done, the guy wanted a ‘high grade’ but had only paid enough for a C and wouldn’t cough up any more until he saw the goods by which time he wouldn’t need to pay.

Cai

Adrian Sorel had just quietly watching all this and now with a few flicks of his fingers shut his music off as he turned to look at the teacher to see her reaction. He suddenly wondered if this was a human youth ritual of some sort. Was she testing the teacher?

Adrian Sorel

Whatever she was doing, Em’ujo was about to tolerate it. Nodding to the boy, Cai she had learned his name to be, she turned to face the girl who had originally given her the PaDD. Anger was boiling beneath the surface of the Klingon woman, a rage of sheer annoyance that took all of her brute strength not to unleash upon the young teenaged girl, a response she figured Sadee was expecting. Although, the anger wasn’t completely dissipated from her features, it simmered in her eyes, casting a dark shadow over her amber gaze.

“Miss Brooks,” When she spoke, her voice did not match the looking darkness that rested behind her gaze. Instead, it seemed poised, a forced self-assurement to make it seem as though she were not truly ready to teach the girl a lesson, as she would have back on Qo’noS. Her mind screamed at her, forcing her to remember that human children could not withstand the same practices as Klingon children; Echego did not fancy losing her job on the first day. “I do not know what they teach you, where you’re from. However, on Qo’noS, and many other planets of various poeples, children are taught to respect their peers, regardless of their opinion of them.”

“Your behaviour today,” Gah! How she wished she didn’t have to be so– so… Civilised! “Was abhorrent and dishonourable to your family. I would have expected better from someone of your age. But clearly, you prefer the mannerisms of a child. Would you like to be treated as one, too?” Her voice was a low rumble, inches away from a growl. “I expect to see you after class.”

“And to the rest of you,” She turned to them. “I understand that you probably won’t like me, and there is a good chance I won’t like you either. But let me get one thing straight: I don’t give a hoot if you’re Vulcan, human or an undiscovered species from a planet fifty thousand light years away. You will respect those around you. I don’t care what you’ve been taught before, I don’t care what you’ve been told. The moment you step foot in this classroom, disrespect, discrimination and any form of demeaning, pathetic behavior will not be tolerated, and it will result in punishment. That goes for me, each of your classmates and anyone who steps foot through that door.” She glanced between them all. “Do I make myself clear?”
