1. The previous sim established the Ogawa’s mission to Carraya IV: https://www.star-fleet.com/gmd/archive/mission.php?id=638

  1. Some initial info on the storm and location: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf3/ogawa/notes/24727/

  2. Since this sim started in Oct, we’ve so far:

*Arrived at Carraya IV

*Away team beamed down and met the Clinic’s CO, Commander Bosede, who gave a tour of the remaining half of the clinic that is useable (left hand side of the layout image linked on MOTD).
–Links: Some of the patients: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf3/ogawa/notes/21323/; the re-arranged clinic: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf3/ogawa/notes/20305/

*Some key additional info about the situation: >“It’s a combo of things right now. Mostly minor injuries that occur here or that people arrive with in their escape. Our last update from the Romulan border indicated that there is a faction stirring up trouble and those that were already vulnerable are being forced to get out of the way. For them, that means risking the wrath of what exists for Romulan authorities and and crossing the border into the neutral zone. Most have been ending up here, but we’re hardly the only place. Just a current focal point.”

“The thing we’re vigilant about is general public health and the risk of disease spreading. So far we’ve been fortunate, but we’re need to be wary. The other side is that the Federation Council is trying to figure out what to do with these refugees and so at the moment we’re more or less given no guidance. Our job for now is to make them as comfortable as possible. But the camp is makeshift and not suited for these conditions. After the storm destroyed a lot of the clinic and our supplies, we’re just trying to keep our heads above water,” Xerdosa explained.
–While there have been mostly minor injuries, some of the more complex cases have been explained: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf3/ogawa/notes/21323/

*Engineers go to look at the Klingon power generator that was donated.

  1. Some things to keep in mind:

*I tend to offer info when questions are asked. With all the changes in crew over the last few months, lots of details were lost before they were fully explored. To date, no one asked actually asked for info on the pre-fab hospital you’ve been delivering. I can provide that if needed.

*It is a medical ship and I’m trying to run medical sims with that as the main focus.

Carraya IV is not* a Federation planet, and there are also geo-political issues mentioned not yet explored: As far as we know, it’s in unclaimed space, and the Romulans used it for the prison colony until the prison was done away with after the explosion of the Hobus star. The Klingons and Romulans who remained on Carraya are there by choice. The refugees arrived first, before the clinic was created. The Klingon/Romulan compound requested aide for the refugees to the Federation due to the complex situation on the Romulan border and the proximity of the Federation to Carraya. Bosede and her team arrived with a very basic clinic kit and some supplies and got set up. They then requested a more supplies and staff when they realized the refugee situation was expanded faster than they could manage. Then the storm hit, giving their current predicament.

  • When in doubt, ask questions of the GM characters. I often treat my sims like a game of Zelda. You’re on a quest and you talk to characters to get info. This isn’t always true, but when I do a sim with lots of characters, that’s the general idea. These characters hold keys to different bits of info, and if you communicate with each other, you’ll solve any puzzles much faster.
  1. I’m going to go where you go as much as I can from this point on. Given the lack of progress we had been making, I was trying to get us to the next part of the sim and I now realize I might have pushed too hard. I apologize for that. If I end up scrapping half the planned sim because you want to go in a different direction, that’s what will happen.

To make things more fun for all of you, I’m going to add in a ‘choose your own adventure’ component to the sim. At particular junctures in the action for each of your characters, I may email/message you with a couple options to pick from for what happens next. There will be consequences you are made aware of at this time, and once you pick your choice, I will post that and the consequences will be put into play. What happens from there, who knows!

I’m changing things up and will try a different way of GMing and see what happens. If you like where things are going, let me know! If there are issues, let me know as well and I will do what I can. This is supposed to be fun for you, and if it’s not, I will do my best to see if I can adjust things so it is.

~Linds

Thank you for this Linds.

Cale

Thanks, Linds. Your sims are always fun and so detailed. I can’t imagine the work you put into them. Thank you!

My character is on the bridge I labeled main sim. I didn’t think it would do to have both the CO and the XO on the surface. I can keep myself busy of course or if you need me elsewhere just let me know.
