=^=Alexander to Engineering. Just a thought; weather patterns over the next few days are likely to be problematic for the rebuilding effort. Is there any way we can use shield generators to create a kind of bubble around the structure? And do we have a plan for drainage should we be hit with heavy rainfall in the meantime? =^=

Zack tapped at a console, accessing science from this location. He had the computer compile the said overlay. =^= I’m also sending down our estimations for what might be on it’s way to the medical centre. I’m happy to assist, if required, with consideration on how to deal with any present or immediate future damage due to weather conditions. =^=

The Betazoid looked between T’Pris and Tressex. “I hope they don’t throw me a hyperspanner and tell me to ‘get to work’. I’d feel a bit lost!”

Tressex smiled while reviewing the data on his screen and said “If they do, we will all be relying upon you to make us look good in the eyes of our shipmates, Mr. Alexander.” As he looked at the report on the pathogen that killed the trees, a thought occurred to him. He tapped a few commands into the computer and pulled up a listing of Ogawa crew currently on site at the clinic. Looking over the names, he tapped on and said “Yes. I hope I am not interrupting.” and he walked into his office. Closing the door, he opened the communications to the Head Nurse, Pilar O’Keefe. =/\= Lieutenant Tressex to Lieutenant Commader O’Keefe. Ma’am, when you have a moment, there is something I would like to discuss with you concerning our section’s environmental analysis. =/\=

Tressex, CSO

Tressex then swore slightly under his breath. He had completely forgotten to contact the bridge and inform them of the incoming weather. Tapping his commbadge again, he said =/\= CSO to Bridge. Be advised there is a significant weather front forming. The clinic site can anticipate a good deal of rain and wind for the next three days minimum. The Away Team should be informed so they can prepare. Lab out. =/\= and he looked at his team somewhat sheepishly before returning to the data compilation.

Tressex, CSO

=^= Understood Lieutenant. Can you give me a more in-depth forecast. =^= Willows voice replied. =^= or do I have to wait for the 11 o’clock broadcast?=^=

=/\= Oh of course! On its way to you now, Ma’am. =/\= Tressex replied quickly and sent the forecast to the bridge science station. He glanced at T’Pris and Alexander with a look of absolute embarrassment and said “I should have sent that first. I wonder if I will ever get the hang of this position…” and then went back to the display with a self deprecating frown.

Tressex, CSO

If T’Pris had been as she was ten years ago before she had relearned some semblance of control, she would have smiled. She did feel a ripple of amusement within over the new CSO’s embarrassment but it did not show on her face and was only shown by a quick commiserating glance that she gave him. “You will, Lieutenant. It will take time but you will learn what is required of you.” She spoke from experience as she had been CSO herself on the Valkyrie for many years.

Zack was scanning the information they had, but glanced up at Tressex. “Well, if Engineering can get that shield generator up, it shouldn’t matter what this weather system throws at us. All this technology and we’re being hampered by rain!” He said, shaking his head.

=/\=This is Lt Pierce, CE. Sorry for the late reply. Plenty to do around here. Only problem I see with a shield generator is blocking equipment transports. Other than that it’s a golden idea.=/\=

-Lt(j.g.) Mark Pierce, CE

Tressex looked at Alexander and said “I would assume they could designate a specific area outside the shield to receive transports, yes?”

Tressex, CSO

The Betazoid nodded. “They could pick a suitable location, construct something of a …” Zack shrugged, a little lost, “transport bay that is suitably covered in time, then all they would need to do is take a few steps outside of the shield, grab the equipment and then get back in, sir. Hopefully the weather won’t be so bad as to put any transported goods at risk. But yes,” her surmised. “That should work.”

Ens. Alexander

“Sounds like a workable solution,” T’Pris murmured as she continued monitoring the conditions on planet.

T’Pris Psychobiologist

Alexander tapped his commbadge =^= Alexander to Pierce. Sir, we propose you designate a small area immediately outside of the shield that you will generate, as a kind of, temporary cargo relief, construct some form of cover to keep it from the elements, and then it should just be a case of stepping outside the shield for a few moments to grab any supplies beamed down to you. =^=

Ens Alexander

=/\=Ok. We’ll set up an equipment receiving zone, then drop a shield generator. Nice idea.=/\=

-Lt(j.g.) Mark Pierce, CE

Tressex looked at the layout of the colony. “Ensign, see if you can find any specifications for the shield generators. Maybe we can assist Engineering and select a suitable spot for them that will allow for ease of retrieval and also not flood when the rain comes.”

Tressex, CSO

T’Pris stood at her console collating the incoming data to keep the bridge and Ms. Reez apprised on the planet below. She was enjoying the relaxing task of working with the data.

T’Pris Pyschobiologist

Tressex finalized his review of the site and projected a map on the holographic display. “Here.” he said, and pointed a finger at the map. He indicated a centralized spot that would be mostly central to the areas the engineers would be working. “That ssems to be the best place to send things down. Least amount of time fo rthem to be in the rain, anyway.” he said with a small laugh. He then looked at T’Pris. “Anything else we need to address so far in the data? We have a sent a weather forecast and all the survey data to the appropriate personnel, correct?”

Tressex, CSO

“Yes, sir. We have. We are just in a monitoring mode at this point, I believe. I am also sending continuous updates to Ms. Reez on the weather and any other pertinent information.” T’Pris answered with a quick glance up at Tressex.

T’Pris Psychobiologist

“Nicely done, T’Pris. Thank you.” Tressex acknowledged.

Tressex, CSO

Tressex pondered for a moment and then looked at T’Pris and Alexander. “When the rains come, we should try and get precipitation samples. We can start comparing pollen and mold traces and see any potential for allergies and such.”

Tressex, CSO

T’Pris nodded in acknowledgement and sent the request for samples down to Melaia.

T’Pris Psychobiologist

Melaia confirmed that she received the update and was collecting samples while the weather permitted.

OOC: If i missed some additional scans or info you were looking for, let me know. ~Linds
OOC: Nope, we’re just continuing to monitor things. Thx Linds!

Tressex watched the data come in get sorted into it’s various areas and priorities. His staff was doing an excellent job, but he also knew that the task was not necessarily the most exciting. Looking around, his gaze settled first on T’Pris. “T’Pris. Once we have everything running smoothly and the data compilation is running as best we can get it, would you want an opportunity to visit the planet?”

Tressex, CSO

OOC: Fixing typos!

“I would indeed, sir.” T’Pris said looking up. “I can have all updates automatically sent down to Ms. Reez or myself. I think that having one of us down there to assist with Ensign Alexander’s idea of the forcefield dome would be advisable.”

T’Pris Psychobiologist

OOC: Did we lose Ens. Alexander?

OOC: We did. His idea will live on, however. Ha!

IC: “Agreed. Get the updates sorted out and then report to the transporter room. Oh! And take a specimen collection kit with you, as well. No sense wasting an opportunity, right?” the excitable CSO said.

Tressex, CSO

Once the updates were complete and everything at least appeared to be running smoothly, Tressex looked at T’Pris and said “Why don’t you go and get ready? We can handle it form here. Please rendezvous with Mrs. Reez when you arrive, if possible. And keep me updated, if you would please.”

Tressex, CSO

OOC: Sorry been LOA as I am extremely ill though it looks like it isn’t pneumonia just a severe chest infection.:)

IC:

T’Pris nodded as she finished something on her console then moved over to one of the cabinets and collected a sample kit before heading out to the transporter room.
