It wasn’t the first time someone had offered her the option, but the influx of new people and the realization that everything was about to change in some way made Ketra reach out her hand. She eyed the PADD hesitantly before taking it by her free hand. She simply held the device on her lap, careful not to disrupt Ally’s work.

Scott’s healing of the rest of the burn proceeded without issue and given the extra dose of the antibiotic, the infection would be fully dealt with.

As they finished up, Ketra would surreptitiously scan the room at regular intervals, as one might if they were on patrol.

“Are you looking for someone?” He asked Ketra, wondering what she was looking for. It could be trying to find someone, or maybe just from experience to stay alive.

Ketra’s look was a bit confused as she shifted her attention back to Jonathan. She gave a tiny nod.

Giving Reez a look that said Medicine 1 : Psychiatry 0, Drake walked around the bed and leaned on the wall. “So, was this the only case she gave Starfleet? The woman in charge mentioned three head traumas. And those were the noteworthy patients. I did this specifically, emergency response, for two years. Chose that over being Head of Surgery on the USS Hope. Maybe the Commander here tries to get our patient to open up while I handle general medicine and Scott does paediatrics? Just a thought, from a dash of experience. Divy up the work to each specialist and pass patients along. When the surgeon is done, turf them to the generalist. Things like that. We don’t have a true generalist with us, but I don’t hear anyone calling out for a trauma surgeon.”

-Dr Drake Marshall

Ally opened her mouth to reply and then closed it sharply. She did not have to be the chief of psych or a Betazoid to notice that tensions were increasing like the gases of Krakatoa. Jonathan’s typically lax posture was straightening out to that of a full-blown officer ready to hand you your arse yet his voice had this freaky calm tone to it. To her, Marshall was also gunning up for a showdown of whose pips are more sparkly.

“Doctor Marhsall, we all have experience here… none of us our going around and listing our medical past to try and inflate our egos. So please step outside and wait for yourself to be called on. As the ranking officer here, consider it an order.” Jonathan said, he was calm but he had it with the attitude of the officer and was going to make a point to bring it up with the Captain. They had patients to treat and didn’t need someone trying to showboat. Alison and himself could help the doctor here and someone like this wasn’t going to be any use as they tried to help in a crisis. “When we need you, we will bring you out of time out.”

Reez, CoP

Slowly Ally stopped working and looked at both men. This situation was making little sense to her. Jonathan may sit behind a desk now and hold up paint splotches but if you looked behind his desk you would see four diplomas. Two were from Starfleet detailing his qualifications as a medical doctor with a specialization in neurology and psychiatry and two were from Betazed explaining how he could make any species cry like a toddler with the cross-culturally sociology and Interspecies Psychology degrees. One outranked the other but they both were experts in their fields.

“You know somewhere in the middle of this ya’ll seem to have forgotten that the hundred and twenty-five-pound blonde is the assistant chief medical officer,” Ally looked up at both men. She did not have the stare Jonathan had honed nor the precise posture of Marshall but she did, oddly enough have the power to toss them out of the room. “Drake you are not adding to the solution and right now Dr. Reez is assessing this woman’s comfort level with her care team and I am pretty sure she is going to say we failed Bedside Manor 101. So if you wouldn’t mind following the Commander’s order and cop a squat outside until we have a need for some ER expertise.”

Ally did not push the conversation further. Instead, she directed her attention to the woman she just finished treating. “You are okay now. I promise. Anything I can get you besides three doctors that obviously don’t spend shore leave together,” she tried to lighten the mood with a joke. It was a bad joke but it was all she had.

Lt. Ally Scott, Pediatrics

Ooc: Guys, while I’m not sure this is helping the patient…I am loving the interactions between your characters so much right now, thank you for that. Sam you’re gunna end up spending time in the brig cough janitors cupboard with Jarvis at this rate :p -Cale

OOC: Seconded :D The good news, I guess, is I have two sickbays I can split you all up between before someone throws a glove at someone else and demands satisfaction…

-Brandon

OOC: This whole thing is making me laugh!
IC:
Ketra looked about, keenly aware of the tension there, but she shifted her attention to Ally and for a moment there was clear fear there before the look disappeared and was replaced by neutral calm.

A moment later, the main door to the clinic opened and another Romulan woman stepped in, pushing the door shut with care. She moved over to the group in the makeshift Primary Care area and smiled at the group but Ketra in particular. “I was told you were up here,” she said. Ketra seemed to relax a great deal.

The new woman looked at the trio of medical staff and bowed her head. “I see the backup has arrived finally. I’m Linisa, Ketra’s shelter mate and old friend,” she greeted to the three Starfleet officers. Linisia was tall and slight in build, though clearly muscular and looked like she usually did intense physical training.

Turning her attention back to Ketra, Linisa smirked slightly. “I waited for the last downpour to end, Elements be thanked that it was shorter than yesterday. I haven’t seen this much rain since that one winter in Ki Baratan, remember?”

Ketra’s expression actually shifted and there appeared to be a bit of a smirk that was trying to sneak onto her face, though her eyes showed the amusement. She nodded slightly.

“See that’s what I wanted to see, the smile is good on you Ketra.” Jonathan said as he smiled warmly at the young woman, looking over at Linisia he bowed. “Pleasure to meet you I am Jonathan, this is Ally and… well you saw Doctor Marshall on your way in.” Jonathan let the piece sink in, his hunch was correct but now wasn’t the time to push Ketra much more.

Linisia bowed her head to Ally and Jonathan. “Well met,” she greeted.

Linisia seemed entirely unfazed by her friend’s lack of words. “How’s it healing?” Linisa asked Ally directly, gesturing to the disappearing burn and infection.

~Mischief Maker

Reez, CoP

“Right as rain. Pardon the pun,” Ally said turning off the dermal regenerator. “You should have no more problems with it. It might be tender but should be fine,” she said putting the dermal regenerator away and standing up.

Lt. Ally Scott, pediatrics

OOC: Is Marshall still in the clinic or has he left? There wasn’t a clear post where I saw that happen. If he’s left, I need to talk to you Sam, so email or DM me.
IC:
Ketra examined her arm, gazing at the spot where the deep burn had been for several moments before she looked up to Ally and nodded.

“Thank you, Doctor. I think we’re both glad the infection is gone,” Linisia said. “Is she free to go? We can show you the camp a bit. I saw others of your group getting something of a tour.”

~Mischief Maker

“Sure I would love that. There is a pregnant Romulan that somehow I lost,” Ally gave a half laugh, “so a tour would not only get me acquainted with the camp but also check on her if no one else has at this point.”

OCC: Pasting in a split in the post.~ Kate

“So, now that you are all better… you want to maybe tell me a bit about what has happened here?” Jonathan asked, curious if he could get some more information to find out how they got into this situation and what he could do to aid them further.

Reez, CoP

OOC: Drake left and briefly came in contact with Ketra’s friend.

-Sam

Drake reenterd the room. “I shall be returning to the ship. Better for surgery anyway. Ship the good stuff there.” He tapped his combadge. =/\=Marshall to Ogawa. One to beam up.=/\= A moment later, he disappeared in a shimmer of light.

-Dr Drake Marshall

“And we are back to two. You coming,” Ally asked Reez as she stood up ready for the tour.

Lt. Ally Scott. pediatrics

“Ready as I ever will be.” Jonathan said.

Reez, CoP

“After you,” she said to Jonathan gesturing forward.

Lt. Ally Scott Medical

Linisia lead them out of the clinic, giving Ketra a glance to make sure her friend was okay before she answered Reez since Ketra wasn’t going to speak clearly. “We barely escaped across the border. Crap went down where our units was stationed. Next thing we know, our superiors are dead and another faction had taken control of the colony. We were with different units but all of a sudden we had few resources and no chain of command. We learned about an hour after we got off the surface that we no longer actually had a detachment we served. It was gone. Poof. We were soldiers with no home, no one to give us orders. And then we ran into this last group heading for the border. They had little in the way of protection, so we decided to stick with them and make sure they arrived safely.”

Just then, the away team received word that there was a situation on the Ogawa. The patients that were to be beamed up from the camp were to go to Primary Sickbay as Secondary Sickbay was under quarantine.

OOC: You guys can call up to find out more. Just be sure to cross-post your comms. I will probably merge your tour with the other camp thread, but I’ll wait to see how the response here goes first.

~Mischief Maker

=/\=Ogawa, Commander Reez here, I was wanting to make certain I understood you, secondary is under quarantine?=/\= Jonathan asked, wanting to find out if her heard this right.

Reez, CoP

Ally immediately pulled out her tricorder upon hearing the word quarantine. It was the one word that made doctors move faster than any other when they were on the receiving end of that word. If there was a bug going around Ally wanted to now what it was and who was affected.

Lt. Ally Scott Medical

=^= Taylor here. This is correct Commander. Apparently Doctor Marshall was a little lax in his transport procedures. However the filter systems should ensure there is no contamination outbreak and Doctor Walker has primary sickbay ready to accommodate the clinic patients and staff.=^=

Willow Taylor
CO

=/\= Okay Captain, we can head to either location they have it under control here, where do you suggest sir =/\=

Reez, CoP
