“If it involves another woman coming along so that I am not the only chick here then yes…yes it is tonight,” Ally gave out a small laugh before leaning against Rico. “No offense chief. This is going to be great,” she feigned a really tight smile playing up the image of someone not sure they wanted to do something. It was all an act and Rico knew it. As long as she was with Rico, Ally would sit in the middle of the desert dying of thirst just to be with him. So far nothing had ever been bad with him. The twins deciding to explore the joys of verbal language was probably the worst thing that had ever happened to them as a couple so far.

Lt. Ally Scott, medical

Smiling at Ally and her fake look of resignation Rico put his arm over her shoulders. She did make a very good looking elf he had to admit. “I mixed up my days, my fault. I forgot that Ally and I were going to the holodeck after my shift where I am going to introduce her to an old Earth past time, but in more of a live action kinda way. If you’re interested Zoi your welcome to join us, we would love to have you and we can do it later, tomorrow maybe if you don’t feel quite up to it after tonight.” He grinned at Ally and gave her a soft kiss on the forehead. “I wouldn’t be at all adverse to seeing Ally in this on more than one night.”

Still quite a bit tipsy, Zoi felt a bit overwhelmed by their mutual enthusiasm for the game and for her joining them in playing it. This D&D sounded interesting but she was definitely out of her depth. “ummm…” She looked from one to another, their faces eager and excited and just had to laugh. “Okay. Okay. You have convinced me.” She said, raising her hand as she giggled to placate them. With mirth still in her pale blue eyes she shrugged and asked, “I want to play something magical… maybe nature bound. Is there a class of character for that? (Druid) What do I do?”

“Oh oh oh,” Ally said excitedly waving her hands about like a small child that was ready to tell an exciting story. “What if she is one of those magician people? You know with the staff and bird and cape thing,” she gestured slashed mimed as she talked waving her hands about more to the point of flapping her arms to indicate the bird. “Rico…you know that magician person that would be a friend to an elf,” she pressed on not knowing for the life of her what that person was called. It was that moment anyone could relate to. Seeing something in your head but not knowing the label of it. “They say magic type things but not abracadabra. More like ‘Spirits of the woodland nymphs come to me,” Ally gestured broadly with her hands using a voice that was supposed to sound mystic. “You know the one with the tight dress and cape with a hood that makes you seem feminine like sleeping beauty but a sleeping beauty that can kick your ass by summoning everything from birds to deer to a shift in weather if they are strong enough.”

Realizing she sounded like a raving lunatic Ally turned to face Zoe. “Trust me the outfit is hot as heck and you won’t feel silly wearing it. Well no sillier than me looking like a second string Tinkerbell but it is so the magic you are looking for.” Ally did not want to miss out on scaring Zoe out of the game. There was no way she was going to do this alone now.

“Rico tell her what it is and how cool that magician person is,” Ally almost pleaded.

Lt. Ally Scott, medical

“Ally has pretty much got it right, mostly,” Rico grinned. He walked to a table and picked up a PaDD, and after a moment of typing in a few things, grinned and moved back to Haven. “Here,” he said as he handed her the PaDD, “is a description and a selection of outfits that might suit something called a Druid. They pretty much do what you said, they are bound to nature, can summon creatures to help them, plants to capture an enemy or, the really cool part, transform into another creature entirely.” He smiled and took a drink of his beer again, “You could also be a selection of races. There is of course,” he indicated Ally like she was a model, “Elves, but you could also go with Human, Half-Elf, Teifling, Genasi or a number of others, they are in that file as well. Don’t worry too much about the ones that look different, the Holo-deck can help with that.”

“So, if we have a Druid wielding magic and an Elf Rogue, I might as well go for a shield wearing Fighter. Just thank your lucky stars I don’t need to go Bard.” He grinned at the two of them, but for the moment, he didn’t reveal what his race was going to be.

“Oh you know I love your crooning. Are you sure you don’t want to be the Bard,” Ally let out a small laugh and winked in his direction? Of the two of them, she had zero musical ability. Well compared to anyone really she had zero musical talents but Rico was smart enough not to be a Bard because as bad as Ally sang it did not stop her. She sang and sang proudly even if half the words were wrong and she couldn’t carry a tune if it had a handle on it.

Zoi was a bit overwhelmed by everything Ally was saying. It was obvious she wanted to have someone else join their little group. Perhaps it was because she didn’t want to be the only girl or perhaps it was because she didn’t want it to just be her and her boyfriend. Rico followed up Ally’s enthusiasm with good natured and relaxed commentary on choices. He gave her a PaDD full of information, which she took and began to skim. There was… a lot, but she didn’t have to know it all to start it seemed and they both seemed happy to have her join. She nodded and smiled. “I guess a Half Elf sounds like a good option. Its exotic enough to be interesting, and not so different that I will have trouble playing it.”

“Good choice,” Rico said “love the ears too. Lets find you an outfit.” He told her, then pointed to the PaDD. “Here are descriptions of the kind of magic you can do as a Druid and how to cast them. Normally, you just say the magic word and waggle fingers or point your magic stick at something, and the Holodeck does the rest. The Program has been built really well, no problem for beginners to use and we will start small, Level 1.”

Ally grabbed a beer and sat down as Rico helped Zoi replicate something appropriate for her character. A little bit of beer so helped this roleplay along and in more ways than one. She might look like a renegade Tinkerbelle but the shirt did amplify her assets perfectly. As did those pants Rico was going to put on. At first, Ally had a hard time getting on board with the costume until she decided to relax and just go with it. When she stopped focusing on the fact that the pants were not something he would wear on a daily basis Ally soon enjoyed them in a way that probably wasn’t in the CONDUCT BECOMING AN OFFICER book whose companion manual was Wait What COLOR WERE HER EYES. A smile spread across her face as she slowly sipped her beer. Life was a journey and at times you had to trudge in the mud of a holodeck to get to the proverbial glory land of Hiltermede or some other town of that name.

She also picked out a cloaked outfit that seemed to match her character and began thinking of a back story. There was a lot to building the character and not just picking out their class and race.

“So are we ready,” Ally said putting the bottle down with a clink. She had drained the drink and Zoi seemed to have gotten her outfit. There was no reason not to go out and have a little fun.

Lt. Ally Scott Peds

“Let me change as well,” he told them, “Zoi feel free to use the bathroom, my outfit is in the bedroom so I’ll be a few.” He drained his own beer, then gave Ally another kiss on the cheek as he moved past her to the replicator where he disposed of his beer bottle, then created something small that he picked up then grinned at them both, then disappeared into the room to change.

Rico was gone for a little bit of time, maybe 15 minutes. Finally the door slid open and the former Human walked out looking markedly different than when he had entered.

The Chief of Security was now wearing what appeared to be form fitting but flexible black leather that had numerous ties and buttons and was supple enough to allow a fairly free movement. Over that, he wore heavier leather boots with straps that held a dagger in place on the outside near his calves and padded armor covered in a light metal chainmail around the knees. That same padded leather and mail covered his chest in an armored vest that left his arms bare, revealing strongly muscled arms that were evident in any case even when he was in uniform. Leather gauntlets with metal knuckle studs covered his hands and wrapped around his forearms while over each shoulder was a heavier leather pad with heavier chain mail covering it.

At his waist sat a curved sword with a jeweled hilt and simple guard in a scabbard that was plain and wrapped in aged cloth. Very real, but obviously part of a collection. There was no shield yet, but the Holodeck would provide that. On the other side of his waist was a long dagger, it’s scabbard looking wicked and jagged and likely in place so he could hold a weapon in each hand if needed while below the dagger in smaller sheaths on the outside of his thigh were four smaller throwing knives.

Stopping, he held out his hands and did a twirl for the ladies. “What do you think?” he asked. Ally had been right earlier when her thoughts had described his trousers, they were Very form fitting if you looked hard enough where the armor didn’t cover. The biggest change however was likely Rico’s face and arms, his skin had changed to a more weathered color, almost grey and his jaw now jutted slightly while a pair of small, tusks maybe, protruded from his bottom lip. His eyes which had been a piercing Ice Green earlier were now a deep black, not Betazoid black but the change from earlier was very evident. A scar ran down the right side of his face, from forehead over one eye and finished at his chin and his short hair was messy and rough, no longer the styled tidy of a Starfleet Officer and a series of rings seemed pierced through his left ear in a way that may have signified ‘kills’.

“Meet ‘Agrim the Black’, Half Orc warrior formerly of the Red Spear mercenary group.” He smiled, and because of the tusks it came out much closer to a smirking snarl, likely why Half Orc’s were so misunderstood.

When Zoi reappeared, she too was dressed befitting her character in browns and greens with accents of gold. The dress she wore had a multiple layered skirt that showed her legs when she walked forward. The top looked as though it were merely a great gathering of leaves covering her form from waist to neck with a high collar. Over her shoulders was a cloak of tan, bordered with embroidery of green and brown that swayed easily to her movements. Her arms had dark brown leather bracers. Her knee high boots and belt matched them. Her hair was up in a messy tousled updo with a myriad of leaves as though the wind had been used to sweep up her tresses during a breezy spring day. She had a white line that went from across one cheek, over the nose, and across the other cheek with dots beneath making her look more exotic.

Then she broke the spell with her smile. “A girl could get used to this. I feel fancy.”
