The hustle and bustle of secondary sickbay seemed too much for Joe to deal with. As he had sat in the waiting area after the shaking had stopped one woman, an engineer maybe by the colour of her tunic, held a pad over a bloody cut on her forehead. She had turned to look at him when the nurse triaging her had moved off and he, as he always did, grinned back at her.
She had screamed hysterically and pointedly at him dramatically in a way that would have made him annoyed if he had glands and such to produce the chemicals required to have such emotional responses. As another nurse tried to calm the poor woman and feeing quite perturbed the skeletal dentist had quickly made an exit.
Cradling the billowing night black sleeve of his left arm to his chest and holding it with the honey white fingers of his right hand he glided by others picking themselves up or repair teams at work and entered the other sickbay. Primary was quieter being the smaller of the two and no one screamed on seeing him here. So far so good. He stopped a passing nurse who held some equipment.
