=/\=I can confirm one fatality in the lounge, Captain,=/\= Brad reported. =/\=Fortunately, or unfortunately I suppose, it doesn’t appear to have been directly caused by our misadventure. We’re looking at some sort of homicide down here. Security is investigating as well. The victim is Engineering Ensign Branson Hart.=/\=

Security personnel entered the Lounge. One took up residence at each exit and several came over to start talking with the witnesses. Even though Zoi had asked if anyone had seen anything and had gotten responses in the negative, the Security officers would confirm that. Zoi herself took the Cadet and left the Lounge with her.

“The USS Ogawa has no Cadets aboard. Who are you and how did you get on the ship and into the Lounge?” She asked even as she continued to guide the Cadet down the halls. She was going to take her to the Brig.

After getting patched up, Adrian Sorel joined the other crew that had been in the lounge in taking a seat until they were wanted for interview by security. He wondered where his mother was and how she was doing. More then likely she had been in the labs he thought.

Commander Brooks entered the lounge and looked around. Spotting the 2O, she walked up to him. “Fine mess we’ve got done here. Anything to report, Dr. Walker?”

“I can give you the particulars of the cause of death, but I’ll need an engineer to give a better explanation of the how,” Brad cautioned.

He guided Brooks over to Ens. Hart’s body, and pointed out the large piece of machinery sticking out of his chest. “This thingy here appears to have fallen from wherever it was, into his upper chest cavity. It initially pierced the pericardium, but then corkscrewed its way up, through his aorta, causing near instant death. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the movement, I can’t conclude it was an accident. Something or someone moved this thing in him to cause more damage, in just the few seconds of darkness this part of the ship experienced.”

“That’s troubling. Any witnesses? Have we identified the victim?” She steeled herself. She glanced at the lifeless corpse but didn’t recognize this particular person. Which was odd. She had spent many hours going over the ship’s manifest and crew compliment. She was sure she could recognize ninety percent of the faces on the ship if not the names. “I don’t recognize him.”

Brad shrugged. “The scans give his name as Ens. Branson Hart, but the person who reported his death was calling him something else. Lt. Haven dragged her off a couple minutes before you arrived.”

“Regardless, we need to process the scene so we can release these people. No one leaves, understood?”

“Right. No one else leaves,” Brad said, deciding against pointing out that security had already taken someone away.

=/\=Commander Brooks to Lt. Vanhall, report to Deck 6 Lounge immediately.=/\=
