Testing the muscle Willow stretched it, She smiled. “Much better thank you.” She needed a painkiller and possibly a triox hypo now. Looking at Jessica she said “I’m sure Doctor Walker will be happy to handle your boarding physical now.” She said looking at Brad. She then turned to Amari.

“So number one you caught me looking like I was attacked by a fangorian razor beast and then dumped in a sand pit.” She grinned at her XO.

Immediately Amari was embarassed as she looked from the captain to Dr. Walker and then finally let her apologetic eyes land on Dr. Lemann. “Doctor, forgive me. I didn’t realize that you weren’t fully cleared for duty yet. I’ll call you at a more convenient time. As for you, Sir,” she turned addressing the captain formally in a way that said both ‘I’m mostly kidding’ and ‘but I’m also dead serious,’ “if you are dead set on risking life and limb for you leisure activities would you at least recruit a climbing partner and put your overworked first officer’s mind at ease?”

-Lt. Cmdr. Brooks, XO

Jessica smiled at Brooks and waved her hand dismissively. “Commander, I’m happy to discuss at any time, cleared for duty or not,” she added. She gave Taylor another critical eye and then, looking back at Brooks, commented, “I’d wave a tricorder over her to make sure that’s the only thing going on with her. I don’t like that cough.”

“I like that idea,” she said squarely to the captain as she picked up the nearest medical tricorder. She waved the wand over the captain with emphasis on her thoracic cavity.

With a roll of her eyes the dusty CO added. “Fine but I can tell you what it’ll say. Mild Pulmonary Contusion, regenerator and triox for the bruising and oxygen levels and rest for a few hours.”

“Doctor, heal thyself?” Amari said. “Why don’t you lie back and relax, and let me draw my own conclusions.” Amari was enjoying this immensely.

With that, she turned her attention back to Walker and commented, “are you ready for me, Doctor?” Her green eyes twinkled mischievously as she tilted one hip to the side in a confident pose.

Brad’s face shifted into a smile. “With your performance thus far, I’m quite certain neither me, nor anyone else on this ship, is ready for you, Doctor, but we’ll carry on regardless,” he said. ‘Ah, to be 15 years younger…’

He walked over to a biobed two down from the Captain and XO and patted it. “Up you go.”

“I wonder how many first officers get a good look at their captains internal workings?” she asked somewhat amused.

-Lt. Cmdr. Brooks, XO

Willow shook her head with a smirk and allowed the scan to continue. She peered over at it as it fed results back and had a moment to look smug. “See…” She said as indeed the tricorder confirmed bruising and recommended the treatment plan she had also suggested.

Of course Amari knew about the captain’s condition. Situs inversus totalis was extremely rare. It was an odd sensation seeing everything in reverse, it was a little like trying to write with her left hand. “Mild pulmonary contusion,” she said as though she were discovering it on her own. She gathered a vial of triox and inserted it into the hypospray adjusting to the proper dosage. “Now this won’t hurt a bit,” she quipped in her best mommy voice. She pressed the hypo to the captain’s neck and administered the injection. She then positioned the the oxygen and began the treatment. “I’m ordering you to rest captain, for a few hours anyway,” she said in sing song as she positioned the re-generator. “I guess that makes me in charge. I promise not to dent the hull.”

She smiled lovingly, “seriously, though, please try to be a little more careful,” she said earnestly before returning to her snarky voice, “after all, it’s my reputation on the line if the captain is injured.”
