OOC: Sim Update

OOC: I’ll be updating the MOTD with pertinent links. And for fans of Jane the Virgin, read this in the narrator’s voice. You’re welcome.
IC:
So, friends, in the beginning, the Ogawa was on its way to Lorillia to pickup renowned virologist Doctor Siala Modal, who would be spending a few weeks with the crew while they head to Karantine. On day two of their journey, the ship suddenly shook hard, causing all sorts of injuries across the small vessel! Power issues caused a temporary blackout before emergency power kicked in.

In the Lounge, there was a scream when a young cadet found a body behind the bar! Have I mentioned yet that the ship has no cadets currently serving on board? Hmmm, strange, don’t you think?

The crew on the bridge quickly established that they were not in Kansas anymore and in fact were in a subspace bubble! Oh no! With chaotic space all around the edge of the bubble, and the ship unable to generate a wrap field, it sure does seem that our fair ship is stuck at the moment. Be sure to refresh your memory on those crucial scans: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf3/ogawa/notes/41205/. But even after power was returned to the ship, it does seem like there’s no where to really go.

In Secondary Sickbay, casualties poured in, including the daughter of our dear XO. But the doctors seemed to clash over who gets to treat her and how, though perhaps some are fair to doubt the creepy Dr. Jarvis. At least he seemed to handle his new intern with… something. Anyway, it soon proves to be a further oddity because this intern, as much a klutzy babbler as I have ever seen, seemed to be saying some really weird things.

Elsewhere on the ship, one of the therapists, Dr. Darren had a rather steamy encounter with a mysterious man. Though it did seem rather one-sided and he did up and leave. And disappear entirely. Wherever did he go? So strange! And she did seem very shaken afterwards. But no fear, we know some good doctors!

In the Lounge, the good doctor Walker establishes that yes, the man is dead, and it seems that it wasn’t an accident. Hard to argue with that given the brace coil twisted into his chest. Poor Ensign Hart. What a welcome to your new ship. And you weren’t even a red shirt!

So, security escorted the cadet out of the Lounge trying to figure out who she is and where she came from, when, on the bridge, a fiery red head appeared and had a few things to say to Jo… err Captain Taylor? The woman, who is one Doctor Erika Cruz is apparently the Chief of Staff… of Starbase Tranquility? Fast forward through some snappy comebacks and it seems Dr. Cruz, and in fact the other strange people who have appeared, are all from this Starbase. And that is when the Captain recognizes the starbase name. It’s from her favourite soap opera, Starbase Hospital! Wasn’t she watching it when the ship landed in the subspace bubble? Hmm, coincidence? I don’t believe in them.

So now we have apparently five characters running about the ship, and one still hasn’t been accounted for, but then again, the Triage Deck is rather big. And sometimes it’s a bit spooky down there too. Why would someone be hiding out down there anyway?

Meanwhile, one of the characters has shown up in Secondary Sickbay looking for the intern. Watch out, maybe he’ll offer you a massage too!

So, we have possible murder, mysterious people and a stuck ship. It certainly seems like an adventure, but like Sands Through the Hourglass, so is life in space.
