Ana forced a pleasant smile at the doctor. “Was there something else you’d like to discuss, Doctor?” She responded to his question, matching his inflection perfectly.

Lt Darren, Psychiatrist

Bump for Iain

Bump!

OOC: So sorry that I’ve not posted, I’ve had trouble getting into midset of the good doctor.

IC: Dr Jarvis surveyed her over the top of his round spectacles. “Aren’t you supposed to be the one asking the questions?” He let out a series of tuts. “You are the psychiatrist after all.”

Dr J. Jarvis M.D

“Was that not a question?” Ana fired back quickly, meeting his survey with one of her own and finally resting her black eyes solidly in a glare.

Darren

“Obviously,” Dr Jarvis said with a sneer. “I never said that I would not ask questions, simply suggested that, as the psychiatrist, it was your prerogative.” The sneer formed into a thin smile. “Unless you would rather discuss yourself? After all, who gives therapy to the therapists? We could start by discussing your best childhood memory.”

Dr J. Jarvis M.D.

Ana felt her teeth chomp down on her lip as she contained her exasperation with the doctor in front of her. She momentarily focused on the coolness of the air coming in through her nostrils and then the more heated air going back down them before returning her focused gaze on Jarvis. “I completed my most recent evaluation with Dr. Reez, the Chief of Psychiatry. My best childhood memory is learning the Earth game of chess at age four from my human father. Do you have any further questions regarding my background or is there anything that I can do to further assist you today?” The smile that she gave him was so obviously fake that it was almost hysterical.

Darren, Psychiatrist

Dr Jarvis returned her smile with one of his own; another that would chill the squeamish to the bone. So she played chess, good to know. “Perhaps we could play a game of chess sometime, but not today. Now, if you would be so kind as to declare me fit for duty, I will be on my way.”

Dr J. Jarvis M.D.

Ana didn’t respond to Jarvis immediately, instead picking up a PaDD beside her and making a few taps. Only after setting it down in its proper place did her black eyes focus again on the doctor in front of her. “I have cleared you for duty provisionally as long as you abide by the requirements I’ve set out, minimally with regular check-ins at my discretion. You’re free to go.” She waved her hand dismissively toward the door as she stood.

Darren, Psychiatrist

Dr Jarvis stood up from his chair. “Thank you, Doctor,” he said with a thin smile. “Do be sure to send me a memo when you wish to have another little chat. Perhaps we could do so over a pot of tea or from opposite sides of the chessboard.” With that, he turned and left the counsellors office. Well, that hadn’t been difficult to navigate. Although, in his opinion, Darren was in far greater need of psychiatric help than he was. The doctor headed off to find his assigned quarters.
