At the question, Duvosa’s lips curled up into a smile and she let out a soft chuckle. “Yes.” She said. “I have not found a suitable partner. Although on my last ship there were a few that were suitable for a night.” She paused, grinning once more. “Or two.”

-Lt. Jg Duvosa, SEC

Ana’s pale skin flushed a delightful pink at Duvosa’s response as her slight brush of annoyance rapidly developed into bashfulness. She bit her lower lip reflexively and swallowed audibly as she gathered her nerves to continue the line of questioning. “Do you wish to find a suitable partner for a more long term arrangement?”

Darren, Psychiatrist

Duvosa shrugged her shoulders casually. “Perhaps. I don’t think such things can be planned out so. It would be something that would have to occur naturally, don’t you think?” She gave the woman a wink, her lips curled up into a slight smile, before her expression returned to its more neutral one, the slant of her eyebrows almost making it look as through she were angry.

Ana’s already flushed cheeks deepened another shade at Duvosa’s wink as she shifted side to side in her chair. “You already stated that your hobbies are mostly limited to areas that would enhance your work performance,” she responded, stumbling over the words slightly in her embarrassment. “Do you think that is compatible with finding a mate?” Her question was quite direct, but her bumbling did soften the inquisition slightly.

Darren, Psychiatrist

“Perhaps,” Duvosa said, giving a slight shrug of her shoulders. “I suppose only time will tell.” She paused, staring at Ana. The woman was interesting to her.

“Would you like to have dinner with me sometime?” Duvosa asked, a bit bluntly.

Ana’s dark eyes blinked once. Then they blinked again. And finally, they blinked a third time. “I suppose…” she finally answered. “But we should complete your evaluation before discussing social occasions.” She looked down at a PaDD on her desk, which happened to contain a draft of her latest journal article and nothing relevant to this situation at all. “Is there anything you would like to discuss with me or feel I should know to adequately judge your ability to perform your duties on the Ogawa?”

Darren, Psychiatrist

Bump. :)

Duvosa paused. “I believe my service record speaks for itself. I am in optimal physical shape for being a security officer and I have training in many different types of combat, weapons and tactical maneuvers.”

-Lt jg Duvosa, Sec

Ana pondered the response for a moment and shrugged. Her only concern so far was Duvosa’s lack of a life beyond her service, but it’s not like she could judge someone for that. Plus, she had invited her out. She tweaked the position of the PaDD slightly and brushed at an imagined speck of debris on the desk. “Understood,” she finally said. “I believe our current duty shifts match up well to find a compatible time for a meal. Where would you like to engage in this occasion?”

Dr. Darren, CoP

“I believe the Crew Lounge on deck six would be sufficient,” Duvosa said. “I am free this evening. I usually dine at 1900 hours.” She raised an eyebrow at the woman, she was quite curious for a ship’s Counselor.
