Danielle shook her head. “He didn’t say, but he did say that he thought Hendricks was jealous of him being with Erika. Is that enough motive to kill someone? I don’t know. I do know that it wouldn’t be enough to pass the ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’ measure in a court.” It seemed that now that the young security ‘person’ had something to focus on, she was a great deal more calm.

Ana resisted letting out a sigh of relief as she noticed the cadet calming before her eyes. “So Losa thought that Hendricks was jealous of Losa’s relationship with Erika,” she repeated back, hoping that she had followed the dramatic story arc that the being was relating to her. “Do you have any other relevant information?”

Darren, CoP

The ‘security officer’ just shook her head. “No. I wish I did. Maybe then it would feel less like a punch to the gut. You don’t get many truly great friends like Losa in your life. I don’t know what I’m going to do without him,” she said softly, fighting back her stronger emotions.

~Mischief Maker

Ana’s lips pressed firmly together to hide her malaise at the cadet having any further information about the situation. It seemed that she did have some details she could share with Taylor, although whether they would be useful to their current situation was completely unknown. Her deep eyes studied Damiselle for a few moments before finally asking, “is there anyone I can get for you that would be of comfort?”

Darren, CoP

OOC: Can she pick up on any emotions from her?

OOC: No. Just your usual visual cues/body language. Although, good question. Made me do a double-take and think about it for a moment, lol.
IC:
‘Danielle’ shook her head. “No,” she said sadly. “I don’t really have any other friends, anyway.”

Despite actively avoiding employing her empathy in most cases, Ana found it truly disconcerting to rely exclusively on her knowledge of humanoid behavior to establish Damiselle’s emotional baseline.

She eyed Darren. “Do you think they’ll find who killed him?” she said more intently. “I mean, if there is anything else I can do. Maybe I can try and gather more evidence or something? I mean, I am a security officer, after all, for all the good it’s done me.”

~Mischief Maker

Ana’s eyes brightened slightly. It seemed that being involved in her duty would be the best therapy for this young woman, which also conveniently meant that she would no longer need to deal with her. “Let me see what I can do,” she responded, her tone adopting a confidence as she tapped on her comm badge:

=/\= Darren to Haven. Join me in the treatment cubicle in Sickbay. =/\=

Darren, CoP

=/\=Attention all crew, this is the captain speaking. We’re about to traverse the subspace barrier in hopes of exiting back into normal space. Brace yourselves for likely impact and damage.=/\=

~Mischief Maker

Ana’s eyes flicked over to Damiselle as her comm badge chirped the alert. She wondered if the cadet would even be here as soon as they made it back into normal space, but for now, she probably should treat her as though she did really exist. “You better hold on,” she commented and settled herself on the deck with her arms curled around bent legs. It seemed like the most protective position to maintain and she should likely remain in Sickbay in the event they required additional medical support.

Darren, CoP

The ship moved through the small aperture with the tachyon burst widening the hole a great deal more and at first nothing seemed to happen. But as the shielding made contact with the subspace barrier, effectively the ship became a battering ram.

The Ogawa shook violently and inertial dampeners struggled to keep the ship stable and power systems took the brunt of the impact as expected, overloading all over the ship. The shaking continued for a few more seconds as lights went dark and the emergency lighting kicked in.

Notably, “Cadet Danielle Damiselle” was no longer there.

~Mischief Maker

Ana forced herself to breathe slowly as the ship shook and the lights went dark, her eyes instinctively closing. After several cleansing breaths, she quickly opened them again and nearly let out an audible cheer as her cadet companion was no longer there. Quickly making her way out of the treatment room, she surveyed Sickbay to see if the other members of the soap opera crew were present.

Darren, CoP

The other ‘characters’ had also disappeared, including the cat.

Ana was just processing the lack of the other… additions… to the ship as her comm badge chirped with the communication. She tapped it: =/\= Doctor Darren here. The cadet I was speaking with has disappeared. =/\=

Darren, CoP

=^= Understood. If you are uninjured Check with your department and report back. Thank you Doctor.=^=
