“Nothing,” Duvosa said flatly, looking over at Gordon, an eyebrow arched, her eyes piercing through him.

Gordon stood up and wandered over to the Replicator, he looked towards Duvosa to see if she wanted anything from the Replicator. After a few short taps at the display and a familiar tinkle as the replicator operated their drinks appeared in the replicators’ bay. Gordon carefully wandered back to the group with the tray, trying not to spill the small jug of milk or the small trays of sugar and cinnamon. After setting it down on the desk in-between, the officers and he helped himself to the milk, ignoring the other accoutrements. He took a testing sip then sighed with visible relief, “Perfect…” he said softly leaning back and eyeing the two officers. Which one of these two would lead the conversation, it usually turned into a dominance thing with officers regardless of rank.

Crewman Gordon Muir, Sec

“Excuse me,” Duvosa said, looking back towards Zoi. “But if you will notice I am in the middle of a duty shift and I was just about to make my ship wide security sweep. I would like to get back to my duties if we can complete this meeting quickly.”

-Lt jg Duvosa, SEC

Gordon was thankful the scary lady wasn’t looking at him anymore, he was starting to feel nervous under her intimidating gaze....

Zoi looked down at a PaDD she had nearby and nodded, confirming that Duvosa was on shift. “Since I am your department head, I would think that I would not penalize you for having you sit down for a few minutes to meet you. Most any good officer could handle a slight change or impact to schedule, but if it ruffles your feathers that much Duvosa, I can always meet with you later.”

“No,” Duvosa said flatly. “That is not necessary.” She took a seat.

She made herself a cup of coffee with the trimmings she liked and sat back. “As I was saying when I came up to what is now my new office, I am rather foot to the flame and I am not up to date on all of your records beyond the basic information I received as a security officer about crew. I imagine it will take me a bit of time to get ramped up. I am not sure if Rico had any specific plans for either of you or any of the other staff. Is there anything you feel I need to know? Career trajectories, concerns, issues?”

Haven, Sec
“I’ve literally just joined Ma’am, first day on board.” He said hoping to diffuse the situation, “Who would I be working for? Yourself or the Leftenant?” He asked nodding towards Duvosa.

Gordon Muir, Sec

She frowned at the question Muir posed. “Why, you would be reporting to me Muir, unless Lieutenant Duvosa is overseeing a particular project in which you are assigned just as any other chain of command on board this ship. She is your superior in rank, but she is not directly in charge of your duties. And it is ‘Lieutenant’ as regulated by Star Fleet. I will expect you to use Star Fleet’s vernacular while you are posted on this ship. If you need documentation to facilitate your learning process, I can send it to your personal PaDD in the next few hours. “

He stiffened at the discreet rebuke, “Ma’am yes ma’am. Sorry bad habit ma’am.” He said, his weird Hakton/Inverness accent getting slightly more Scottish as he spoke.

Duvosa let out a sound that was a mixture between a chuckle and a grunt. “Not me.” She looked over at Zoi. “I don’t have any concerns. I have not been on board very long myself but I find things to be run very smoothly by the Command staff.”

-Lt jg Duvosa, Sec
Gordon glanced atDuvosa at her comment, ‘Great start to my first ship…’. He thought as he listened to the pair.

“Excellent. Well then, I will keep with the schedule Rico placed for you both for now. I don’t see any reason to change it up yet. I have an open door policy and I expect both of you to make use of it. Come to me for any reason. I expect you both will do well.” She smiled at Duvosa. “I believe that will be all Lieutenant, you may return to your duties.”

Duvosa stood and gave a curt nod. She turned on her heel and headed towards the door. Before exiting, she stopped, turning back towards Zoi and Gordon. “I look forward to working with you both.” She said, and then made her exit.

-Lt jg Duvosa, Sec

Zoi grinned and then returned to her task of addressing Muir.

Gordon felt Havens eyes move like a set of phasers around to him....god she piercing eyes....
Her bright blue eyes turned to Gordon. “Rico had you on a basic Alpha patrol schedule. This means you work from 0500 hours to 1400 hours ship time. From 0500 to 0530, you will be briefed by the previous shift lead on anything pertinent and you will have time to prepare for your shift. Your lunch schedule will be provided at that time as well as the section of the ship you are to patrol. From 1330 to 1400, you will be debriefed by your shift lead. If you are on duty while there is a yellow or red alert, you will stay wherever you have been stationed until you are relieved for debrief. And of course, follow any instructions communicated to you as given. You will also be expected to keep up your marksmanship and physical combat preparedness. Any questions?”

Lt. Commander Zoi Haven, COS
“No Ma’am, it all seems clear....” he said unconsciously eyeing the woman, she seemed…young to be a two and a half pip…at least to Gordon. Her blonde hair and glacier warm blue eyes gave her a Nordic appearance, he really would need to read up on her service record.

Crewman Gordon Muir, Sec

He would be surprised perhaps, to find that Zoi was almost 100 years old and she had held the position of Chief of Security for many of those years on board a variety of Star Fleet ships. She nodded at him and turned to her PaDD. “I believe that will be all for now crewman. Let me know if you find you need anything in the near future. You are dismissed.”

Haven, CoS
Gordon nodded then stood up, “Thank you ma’am.” He said before picking up his satchel and walking out the room, now he had to search for his quarters…

Crewman Gordon Muir, Sec

She watched him leave and then turned her attention to the office that was now hers. Everything was in disarray and much of Rico’s personal files, knick knacks and manual PaDDs littered the space. Zoi took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. She had a lot of work to do.

Haven, CoS
