A small grin graced Ana’s lips as well. A slight dash of cheekiness entered her normally even voice as she responded, “I received higher than average marks in all of my preliminary courses…” Her voice trailed off as her grin deepened briefly and then faded into curiosity, her head tilting to the side. “What did you not grasp regarding psychology?”

Duvosa gave a shrug of the shoulders, her seemingly nonchalant attitude returning. “I just never took an interest in trying to understand other people.” She paused. “Emotions and thought patterns are complicated.” She raised an eyebrow curiously at her companion. “Perhaps we can make a deal. I will train you in some combat techniques and you can help me understand…” Her voice trailed off and she looked lazily around the room. With a wave of her hand, she indicated the other crew members seated about. “These people.”

The laugh that escaped between Ana’s slightly narrowed lips was sharp and seemed to surprise even her for the briefest of moments. “I can train you in common body language and facial cues that would indicate information that could be relevant to your job…” she commented, her voice trailing off as she suddenly grasped at the glass of liquor in front of her and took a healthy sip. “… but I doubt that I will be able to teach you anything about understanding people. You have the wrong person for that.”
