Alexis had had a crazy introduction to the Ogawa, or SB 157. The new Ogawa hadn’t arrived yet and the crew was playing a waiting game. Per Dr. Walker’s orders she’d spoken with the CMO of the Star base, and she, had happily given her and the Ogawa medical crew full run of the auxiliary sickbay on deck 13 (OOC: are there specs for the SB? I’m just guessing). So now Alexis was working on a duty shift. The SB CMO had warned her they rarely used it, so Alexis had spent the last several days, with the Ogawa medical staff, cleaning and inventorying. Tedious work for some, but it their sickbay was ready to go.

Alexis had been sitting in the small office attached to the medbay all morning. She was still and her eyes hurt from staring at a screen for so long. She transferred what she was working on to a PaDD and walked out of the office. “NE Stevens, I’m taking lunch. There are no appointments scheduled for this afternoon, so it should be slow. Call if you need me.” Stevens nodded and Alexis walked out and up to the promenade. She’d not spent any time exploring the star base. There was far too much work to do and that was more important.

Alexis strolled the promenade, stretching her legs, letting her eyes roam the sights, rather than staring at a computer screen. She wasn’t really paying attention, her mind on all the things she needed to do for Dr. Walker and the projects she was working on and the new medical journals she had read and the promising new research of other medical personnel around the quadrant. Most worrisome of all that, for her, was Ever’s invite to work on some research project. Ever had yet to tell her what it was or what it was about in specifics. Alexis needed specifics, facts, details. Ethically, she couldn’t make a decisions to help or not, without those. Ever had hinted it Intel would be extremely thankful for her assistance, but she wasn’t sure she wanted to be owed favors by Intel. But the lack of information was distracting her. Her mind just couldn’t stop going back to it. And she was sure Ever was aware of that, and it ticked Alexis off.

She didn’t hate Ever, not any more, but she wasn’t sure she trusted her either. Alexis made note to set up her on boarding psych eval soon. Someone NOT Ever. Maybe the SB had someone that didn’t answer to Ever. Alexis didn’t like the idea that as the head of psychiatry for Ogawa, Ever would have access to her psych file to read. Alexis was old enough, and mature enough, now to know that there were unresolved feelings there, but still young enough to not want Ever to know it.

She passed a cafe on the promenade and decided to sit down and eat. She wasn’t really paying attention to what she ordered. She pulled out the PaDD and started working on the crew list and sending out reminders for routine physicals while she waited. Alexis -always the workaholic.
Lt. Bonner, AMO

“I would have the coffee, but don’t eat the food.” Zoi said in a conspiratorial tone before she took the seat next to her fellow Star Fleet Officer. As the Chief of Security on the Ogawa, she knew all of its crew by image and file if not by in-person introduction. She was wearing her uniform Her blond hair was up in a messy bun at the nape of her neck, tendrils of curls surrounding her face. She had been merely stopping by for coffee, but wanted to give the Lt. a heads up about the food while she was at it.

Alexis looked up, “Huh? Oh,” she smirked realizing she had no idea what food she’d ordered or where she had choosen to eat. She flagged the server and changed her order to black coffee. “Thanks for the heads up.” She put the PaDD down. This was part of being ‘chief’ right? She had to get to know the crew. She held out her hand to the officer sitting next to her. “Alexis Bonner, medical.” The server came back with a mug of fresh hot coffee. Alexis picked it up and blew across the top before savoring the aroma and then taking a tentative sip to test the temperature. “Hmmm, not bad, not great either.” She smiled ruefully, “I imagine if the coffee is to this standard, the food is much much worse.”
Lt. Bonner, AMO

Zoi took the offered hand and gave it a strong but not overly powerful shake. “Zoi Haven, Chief of Security.” She waited as Bonner took a sip and shrugged at the observation. THere was a plethora of places for food and shopping on the promenade. Alexis was fairly new to the Starbase and was assigned to the Ogawa, when the new ship arrived. Zoi had checked out her file as she did with all new crew.

“That’s probably accurate. I like the boiler room for excellent coffee and food.” she said, which earned her a side eyed glance from the server. She grimaced and looked back at Bonner as she spoke with a more conspiratory tone. “I think I won’t be ordering anything though. They might be upset at me for advising you to look elsewhere for lunch.”
