Mariah could appreciate the need to identify patient zero and the means for a potential psychological transmission enhancing the infection. The big picture was important, but the caretaker in her was naturally drawn to attending to the individuals she saw in front of her with immediate needs. Interviewing Walker may indeed prove helpful, but for now, she would do him more good if she worked with the rest of the team. Besides, Walker may not have been lucid, but he wasn’t in immediate danger. She waited for the computer search to give them a sense of direction.

Dira certainly hoped they hadn’t moved far from their quarters but anything was possible at this point.

The computer spun for a moment and reported: “The station elementary school syllabus indicates that the novel Alice in Wonderland was assigned to Grade 5 as required reading one month ago. There are presently 35 students enrolled in that course.” A list of the students popped up on the screen that included Nunni Neazo, the daughter of Mirro and Goslom Neazo, two of the patents seen in the corridors around the spot in the station where the biomass was most heavily concentrated.

After another pause the computer chirped back, “Mirro and Goslom Neazo are in their quarters.” On the panel then was displayed the phyiscal location of the Betazoids.

Alexis looked at Jennyfer, “Let me have one of those. I think I can get close enough to the captain to administer the anti fungal. It has to be breathed in and I think I can get her to let me spray it without setting off all her ‘cards’ on me.” She looks at the XO, “When I passed by the promenade earlier, she assumed I was a huntress. She allowed me to leave without detaining me like everyone else. She’s expecting me to return.” Now Alexis just had to come up with another epic ballad to sing for the CO. She was confident that Jennyfer and the rest of the medical crew, along with the engineer’s help could get the ducts cleaned and the antidote spreading through the rest of the ship. The others could go find the zero patient. She removed her suit except the rebreather waiting to see what the XO decided on.

The XO gave a crisp nod. “Go deal with Queen Taylor,” she said, masking the smirk that desperately wanted to appear. She turned to Jenyfer. “You got a handle on things here?”

Myqian turned to Ever. “I’m going to check on out potential Betazoid projectors,” she said. “You should come with.” They were both psychiatrists with medical degrees, trained to deal with difficult patients (even if they got aggressive) and were both Betazoid (in some part). And at least for herself, since she had been given the neurosuppressant, she wouldn’t be bogged down with the chaos of the minds around her. She could, however, still give off soothing feelings if needed to calm things down.

With a nod, Alexis took the aerosol and, with her rebreather on, she headed back to the promenade to try and help the captain.

Jenyfer nodded to the XO. “We’ll manage. And should me ready to get engineering to start flooding the air ducts in about ten minutes. You won’t get a warning because we don’t want anyone around you ‘running’.”

She was hoping, like the rest, that they were getting closer to finding patient zero and a why and how. But she’d be happier if they just got everyone cured and fixed, first.

Turning back to her station, she tried to speed up the process to get enough of the spray to let engineering start spreading it.

“Where is everybody going? Why am I not being taken to meet the Queen?” Brad asked from behind his isolation forcefield.

Jenyfer wandered over to the force field and bowed like an ancient servant. “Have no worries. We have heard the Queen will be coming here. She has heard about you and wishes to meet you. I suggest you take a nap so you do not insult her with a yawn.” She leaned in to speak lower though everyone near by would hear. “We don’t want you to lose your head because she think you find her boring!” She hoped the words would calm and settle the man and he would quiet down.

“Oh no thank you, I’m much too worked up to rest!” Brad exclaimed, his left leg giving a nervous twitch as if to emphasize the point.

On her way out the door, Alexis turned and got Jenyfer’s attention. “Maybe we should give some of that to Dr. Walker? As soon as you have more synthesized. It would helpful to the have him feeling better and able to help.”

OOC: If you’re lost as to what you should be doing, refer to this post: https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf3/ogawa/posts/102042/. I’m moving Dira and Ever out as planned and starting a Crew Quarters thread.
IC:
With a nod, the XO sling a med kit with their doses over her shoulder, keeping on in her pocket for quick access. “Alright, let’s go,” she said to Ever. With a look of resolve firmly on her face, Myqian left the Infirmary.
