“Mental Fatigue. I know it sounds to obvious but that’s the term for it. For something with such far reaching consequences, you’d think it would sound complicated. A day off is good. We all need it. Especially after all this crazy illness. Too bad we aren’t near a planet and can get some real fresh air.” Alexis stood up. “How about real coffee from somewhere else?”
Lt. Bonner, AMO

“Mmm Fresh air. I think real coffee will be a good enough replacement for now though.” She grinned and stood up, following Bonner wherever she chose to go. “Do you have a particular planet you like to visit? Or are you a person that doesnt care which planet it is as long as you get to go?”

Haven, CoS

Oh well, that was good question. “Earth I guess. I’ve never actually been planet side anywhere else. Too much to do in sickbay to get to go anywhere.” No one to go with either. Alexis was always too young and too strange. And what was the fun in going anywhere if you had no one to share it with. She had thought, once, that she’d share that with Soulis....God how wrong she had been. She shook her head, she wasn’t going to dwell on that. Ever was manipulative and she had to have been lying about how Soulis really felt about her. She…Alexis looked around the promenade trying to find somewhere with good coffee. “Where is the good coffee Lt.?”
Lt. Bonner, AMO

As the two officers stepped out of the Cafe’ a tall uniformed figure blocked their way, “Excuse me Lieutenant Bonner, could you direct me to lieutenant Commander Zeanar?” A massive late middle age Klingon in a Starfleet uniform, sporting a whit specialists under tunic and a Klingon imperial seal on his collar opposite his lieutenant’s pip stood there.

Alexis came to a very abrupt halt. She recognized clergy. She’d worked with a lot in her time. Having seen them come into sickbay to comfort patients and families over the years. The man was huge though. But two things, how did he know her name and why would he assume she knew Ever? “Lt Cmdr Zeanar is probably in her office right now. I believe that her department has been housed,” she pauses to think, she’s supposed to know this. She’s the AMO and then it comes to her, “Deck 20 section 3. If she isn’t there, there is usually an NE on duty at the desk.” She looks up at him. Compared to him she was short. “So will you be joining us on the new Ogawa, Clergyman…?” It was a generic term but Alexis wasn’t exactly sure what the appropriate address was.
Lt Bonner, AMO

Zoi too came to an abrupt halt as the Klingon stopped them to inquire into the whereabouts of the Chief of Psychiatry. She smiled politely, not showing teeth. Lt. Bonner’s assessment that he was clergy was clearly correct and Zoi was surprised. She had not looked at the roster in the last few days due to her focus being on teaching the Security Department about the new Ogawa on its way. She had been unaware that there was new crew coming in. She silently chastized herself for not checking more regularly.

“Chaplain is the term you’re looking for Doctor, and yes I have been assigned to the Ogawa.” There was such a huge variation in appearance of the versus sub species of Klingon, in Korak some of the most martial bloodlines must have combined. Grey hear pulled back in a warriors knot, long beard and bushy eyebrows along with the prominent brow ridges clearly showed that. The scar bisecting his face and notching his eyelid showed he could take a hit. Despite his imposing size and appearance Tho was an unusual calm, almost Vulcan in nature.

Alexis actually smiled, “And Chaplain do you have a name?” She wasn’t really familiar with Klingons. Well that wasn’t true. She understood their medical needs and had an academic understanding of their culture, but since Alexis was not socially adept, despite having served with many Klingons, she didn’t have any idea how to socialize with them. So the question could be rude and she’d never know. But being the academic she was she was not surprised by the sight of a Klingon religious man/person. She knew they had a rich religious culture, though she’d never studied the particulars. “Welcome aboard then, Chaplin. Be sure to get a list of where the Ogawa crew is. We are all on the star base for now, but it’s big enough all of our departments have our own locations so we aren’t stepping on top of the Star Base crew while we work. We are on the search for decent coffee. Care to join us? Maybe we can find you some decent Raktajino.”
Lt Bonner, AMO

“Yes Doctor to both your questions, my name is Korak and coffee will be fine. The company will be welcome.” He had studied the crew dossiers since receiving his orders. It wasn’t buy chance he had chosen the Chief of security and assistant chief of staff to make contact with. Stepping aside, “ lead on.” His deal voice comforting.

Alexis looked at Zoi, “Lt. Haven? Suggestions? You said Lucky Hornet?” Alexis started walking, not really knowing where she was going, but eager to find a decent cup of coffee somewhere on the Star Base.
Lt Bonner, AMO

Zoi came back to herself and smiled wider. “Yes of course. The Lucky Hornet has the best coffee, including the best Raktajino I have had since visiting Klingon space. I believe they have a Klingon on staff as a chef. For something lighter, the Boiler Room is a personal favorite. Their tea, dinners and desserts are most excellent.” She turned and led the two down the Promenade. “I second Lt. Bonner’s welcome Korak. Are you with a particular denomination? Or are you versed to care for many?”

Haven, coS
