Most days it was near impossible for Ghubari to go anonymously through her ship, with or without her uniform. Her very stature and the way she held herself made her stand out and usually that was a good thing.

Most days.

Today though, on this free evening before she and Konral eventually left for R&R, Ghubari just wanted to disappear for awhile. There was just too much stuff going on on the Athena and she wanted some space to clear her head. Normally that would mean blocking off time where no one would disturb her and using her iboga to meditate. But her box sat in the drawer in her bedside table still and she had no inclination to touch it. Mshuri could wait.

Nondescript in black from head to toe (with her combadge just in case), Koraia walked off the ship with nothing more than a nod to the security posted at the airlock as per standard. She didn’t have a plan exactly, but she definitely wanted to find a place and sit and be someone other than Captain Koraia.

There were a few options, but it was the busyness and energy of bar-like place that drew her attention. Stepping into The Likeable Hornet, Ghubari sidled up to the bar and debated what she would order. All she knew was that it needed to be real and strong. Very strong.

Sitting close by at the bar was a tall Trill. Her long, dark purple hair was pulled back into a purposefully messy ponytail with a few strands falling into her face, partly hiding her spots and her heterochromatic eyes. She was clad in a pair of very short, black pants and a snugly fitting black top with spaghetti straps; both leaving not only the rest of her spots, but also the majority of her tattoos clearly visible. With her back and elbows resting on the bar behind her and her legs crossed at the knee, she watched everyone coming into the Likable Hornet from her bar stool. Immediately her gaze had fallen onto Ghubari and when the other woman walked over to the bar and clearly pondered what to order, Viyara slipped of her chair and walked the few steps over to her and leaned against the bar again. Without so much as a greeting, she said, “I can recommend the Aldeberan Whiskey. Though if you ask the right way the barkeep might find that they have some Romulan Ale as well.”

Koraia couldn’t help but smirk and put a finger to her lips. After all, Romulan Ale was exactly legal (OOC: that we know of for sure in canon), so while it was not unusual to find it in certain places, the fact that this bartender had some on a fleet starbase was amusing as all hell. And convenient.

A woman seated two stools down to Nazeen’s right slowly turned around at the mention of Romulan Ale. Previously she had been seated with her head slightly down, framed by blonde hair cut into a short bob. As she turned to look at them, her arched eyebrows raised. “The whiskey is decent. Don’t bother with their version of Romulan Ale. I’ve tasted better dish water.” She held up her glass, full of a bright blue liquid. “This is some kind of drink called Hpnotiq.”

Turning her head towards Duvosa, Viyara replied, “True, but it is strong. And there are days when that’s all that matters.” Her expression and demeanour were still light-hearted, even slightly mischievous. Yet something about her hinted ever so slightly at the fact that she knew what she was talking about.

She pointed her finger at the other woman. “Good to know. I loathe when I get dishwater,” she said in a rather deep accented voice, her pale amber eyes lighting up. “I am rather curious about your drink though. Stronger or lighter than the whiskey?” Ghubari said.

Shifting some more so that she could see both women easily at the same time, Viyara took a long sip of her own drink; which happened to be the aforementioned Aldeberan Whiskey.

“It’s a mixture of fruit juices, vodka and cognac,” Duvosa said, holding up her glass and eyeing the blue liquid curiously, before taking another sip. “You two are from the Athena.” Not much of a question in her tone, much more a statement.

The dark skinned woman looked over at Nazeen and shrugged before looking back at Duvosa. “Can’t speak for anyone else, but yes, I am from the Athena. How did you know?” she asked as she caught the eye of the bartender.

“Aldebaran whiskey on the rocks,” she ordered. She was in the mood for something stronger tonight.

Viyara simply nodded and took another sip of her drink while waiting for Duvosa to answer Ghubari’s question. Looking down into her glass, she realised that she’d soon need a new drink. Which raised the question: did she want to go with the same one or with something else?

Duvosa grinned, tucking a stray strand of her blonde hair back behind her pointed ears. “I have my methods.” She took a sip of her drink. “I like to study the crew rosters. Comes in handy with my job as a security officer.” She paused, looking over towards Ghubari. “I understand you’ve just returned from a trip to the mirror universe.” She smiled slyly.
