Feeling much more in tune with everything again (though she could admit that there was still a small edge of fuzziness present), Dira, took in the scene. “Things seem to be calming down out there. Where are we at?”
Commander Myqian, XO
Reaching out mentally to Myqian to both test how much the XO was starting to regain her telepathic abilities and to ensure she was ok, Ever asked with as still and low voice as she could muster. Are you ok? Do you need another hypo until everything settles down?
“Lt. Lynset is handling production of the antidote, we’ve got an intrepid engineer collecting the fungus among us, and an ever-decreasing number of affected people,” Brad reported succinctly. “Most of those who’ve already received the antidote are back to relative normal, with a few lingering tics, in my case.”
His expression turned into a grimace as he realized this would probably result in at least one conversation with a member of the Psychiatry department.
“I suppose the next step is figuring out exactly how the hell said psychoactive fungus got to where we found it in the first place, but that’s a science department question.”
Cmdr. Dr. Brad Walker
Chief of StaffWillow sighed as she finished talking with a Security NE who was updating her on situations across the starbase. ”Maybe it fell down a rabbit hole?” she asked Brad
Willow Taylor
COShe looked at the security NE, “Has the cargo manifest been checked? Any ships land recently with biologicals on board? Anyone who had been denied entry for their cargo?”
Haven, CoS
The NE tapped a few buttons and then shook his head. “Negative. Preliminary analysis is showing that it was likely a stow away on a vessel,” he reported with a shrug. “I doubt that we will ever know the true, origin ma’am but it seems like it was mostly harmless, if I may be so bold.” He glanced to the CO and chuckled at the memory of the poofy dress. “Mostly,” he muttered again.
GM Wombat
Brad scowled at the NE. It was mostly harmless in as much as no one had died, but psychologically? That was quite likely another story entirely.
Dr. Walker, for reasons Ever did not understand, was unwilling to ask the CoP about his and the virologist plan to try telepathic means to uncover more information about the fungus. She didn’t pursue the matter and left the question unasked and unanswered. The security ensign seemed sure it wasn’t possible to find the origin of the source. Though Ever doubted the COS or the virologist was going to give up so easily. Like Walker said, that was down to the science department now. Which brought another question. Where was the CSO? He seemed to be the only senior member of staff not accounted for at the present moment. “Sure Ensign. You might be right. Best check with the CSO and see if he has any ideas first before we call of the search. Besides. If we don’t find and contain the original source, what is to prevent from this happening again in ten minutes or tomorrow?”
Zeanar, CoP
Willow turned a nice shade of red and cleared her throat awkwardly as the NE chuckled. ”I may be time to call evekne together and account for what we can,”
She pressed her badge =^= Taylor to Petrakos, report please.=^= she said.

CODown in the science lab that was fairly reorganized now after the impromptu tea party and other shenanigans, Achilleas received the call from the CO =/\=Petrakos here Captain. I’m in the science labs currently and medical has arrived to provide inoculations for this fungal infection. I’ve got my staff preparing an isolated environment to observe and analyze the fungus core as soon as the Chief Engineer brings it to us.=/\=

Chief of Staff
Jenyfer stepped back then and waited for a pause before addressing the Command Staff. “There is enough of the innoculation to go around. It’s been sent to all available departments and can be programmed into their med kit hypos so we don’t have to walk it to every department. Also, there is little chance, regardless where it came from, of it reflaring up in the next seven to ten days. The decom we are using will make the various surfaces immune, if you will, to a flare of up any fungal based form for that time frame.” She hadn’t heard the comment of the fear of the fungus coming back in 10 minutes, but the report was one she gave to reassure everyone they wouldn’t wake back up tomorrow suffering the same affects.
