It hadn’t been more than a few weeks on the starbase but already it felt like months. The unfortunate incident with the fungus and the crown and the jokes and laughter at her expense following had more than began to rub a little too raw. Willow was ready for the next adventure and therefore that meant she needed the new ship to arrive. The ship they had seen the schematics of and the ship that was for the first time in her starfleet career all hers, brand new. She would be the first official Commanding officer to take charge of the ship, the first one to take it off into space and really test it out. Probably the first one to break it. She cringed at the last thought and hoped that wouldn’t happen any time soon.Willow hugged the mug of coffee in her hands as she stood at the docking area and watched. Like a child waiting for Christmas. Today was the day and she was going to see the new ship as it arrived. She had been waiting three hours.
Just as she began to think it was time to get another refill of her drink the tell tale flash of light announced a ship dropping out if warp. And there it was, shiny, new and gorgeous against the backdrop of space.
“Oh…wow” she breathed out loud and watched as the ship docked. Shortly the announcement sounded that she had been waiting for.

As she approached a few minutes later, the XO could feel the anticipation radiating from Taylor and beamed. It had to be, right? “Is it what I think it is?” she said almost breathlessly.
