Aizala knew that she should have come here much sooner, but with everything that had happened when she had arrived and there not being an actual ship, she hadn’t gotten around to it. And if she was honest with herself, she had been glad that she could avoid this for a little while longer. But she also knew that, if she ever wanted to get back on duty and be in a better mental space she really needed to do this. Taking a deep breath she stepped through the first set of doors into the aspetic entry lobby. Once she was allowed to, she walked through the other door. Uncertain where to go from her, she simply took a step to the side and stayed close to the door while looking around in an attempt to get her bearing.~Lt. Tija, Doctor (med leave)
Elin was stepping out of her office just as Lt. Tija entered the reception area. She smiled warmly at the Lt. before speaking. “Hello, how can I help you?”

Aizala tried to return Elin’s smile, but didn’t quite manage. Her brows were pulled together and the corners of her lips were pulled up only ever so slightly. Nodding a little, she took another deep breath and then replied, “Hello, my name is Tija Aizala. I …” Her voice faltered a little and even though she tried to hide how she felt, she didn’t manage to keep the play of emotions completely off her face and out of her voice. Touching the narrow, white scar that ran along her hairline to her ear on the right side of her face, she started again. “I’m on the Ogawa because I’m on … on medical leave for psychological reasons. To return to active duty, I need help,” Despite what she had just said, the Bajoran Doctor was dressed in one of the new white uniforms of medical officers on this ship.

Elin held out a hand. “I’m Dr. Howell. It’s nice to meet you Lt. Tija. If you have time now why don’t we step into my office and come up with a plan of action for you? It’s not very cozy yet as I have just moved in but I am sure we can make do.”

Aizala took Elin’s outstretched hand and gave it a firm yet somehow also gentle squeeze. As they shook hands, Elin would probably be able to feel some of the callouses, maybe even a few of the small scars that covered bother her hands from many years of working with them. “I do have time now,” she nodded and after taking a deep breath she continued, “I would appreciate it a lot if we could talk now. Thank you for the offer Dr. Howell.” Dropping her hand, she waited for Elin to lead the way and then followed the other woman into her office.

Elin stepped into the office and moved to the replicator for a cup of green tea. “Can I offer you something to eat or drink Lt. Tija?” She offered as she collected her drink.

After following Elin into her office, Aizala looked around; taking in every detail. “There is a herbal tea in the data base saved as Tija 4. I’d like to have a cup of that, please,” she said while standing in the middle of the room. She wasn’t sure where she should sit down.

Elin collected the drinks from the replicator and turned toward the Lt. “I am planning to rearrange a little but for now why don’t we sit here?” She handed the Lt. her tea and then gestured away from the main desk and toward a couple of chairs in one corner separated by a side table and spaced apart enough to be comfortable for conversation. She hated talking from behind a desk, it felt way too ‘institutional’. She set her tea on the table and took a seat giving Lt. Tija time to get comfortable before speaking again. “One of the lessons I took away from my studies in Xenopsychiatry was that most, if not all sentient species, are by nature storytellers. We all seem better able to teach, learn, and process information when presented that way. So, why don’t you tell me your story and we’ll see where that leads us, does that sound alright to you?”
