Cai pushed his hair out of his eyes and chewed his lip ring a moment. “I’m Cai. Nice to meet you. Don’t be scared of the dentist. Dr Black is nice enough. Just don’t stare at his face too long you’ll get freaked.” He said with a small smile.
Cai
“Its nice to meet you to Cai” She smiled wondering why she would be scared of the Dentist and then said as much. “Oh I’m not scared, I just never liked having someone prod and touch my mouth” She shrugged, “Whats wrong with his face?” She asked curiously, maybe he wasn’t human or had some sort of deformation either way Cai had peeked her interest.

Bumpy
He grinned again. “You’ll see.” Was all he said and see she would. Because at that moment an NE came running out of the detail office. Fleet out running. He stumbled over his own feet, caught himself and stumbled again. The holoreceptionist, cackling to himself got up and opened the door for him. Then the NE was gone.
The boy didn’t seem phased by this. A moment later a loonnng shadow appeared from the office in the wake of a towering seven foot figure in billowing hooded robe black as night. It wasn’t so much coloured darkly but as if light just could not penetrate its depths. On top of the robes a short sleeved teal medical tunic was squashed down so that the sleeves and bottom plumed out from under it. The figure had a pure white skeletal face under the robes with giant holes of darkness where the eye sockets were, inside a pinprick of bright blue like a star shone from the depths. It was difficult to look at the face as it grinned and yet, despite having no other facial expression did seem to look concerned.
It spoke, a sound like two tombstones rubbing together that didn’t move the creatures mouth at all. Indeed didn’t seem to have been heard by the ears but directed into the brains of anyone listening.
DEAR OH DEAR. he said ALL I SAID WAS I WOULD NEED TO SEE HIM AGAIN IN THREE WEEKS TO FINISH HIS TREATMENT. he turned his attention to the holoreceptionist IS IT MY FAULT HE REFUSES TO BRUSH BETWEEN MEALS his tone had risen slightly in obvious annoyance but was gone just as quickly leaving those present with a chill. ALBERT…SEND HIM AN APPOINTMENT MESSAGE PLEASE OTHERWISE HE WILL FIND ME IN A NOT SO PATIENT VEIN THE NEXT TIME.
Octavia at first stuck a finger in her ear, where, who she thought wondering why she could hear the disturbing voice in her mind and yet… She looked to the hooded figure and her mouth dropped, Cai WASNT lying she wished he had prepared her more, damn him and his little for no good words, shed have to tell him as much when she found the ability to talk.
“Yes master, of course.” The small holo man said with a bow and proceeded to the computer on his desk. “Other patients for you.” He added waving at the two younger ones.
The figure of Joe Black tilted its skull as it considered Cai and Octavia. CAI…WHAT ARE YOU DOING BACK SO SOON.
The boy rolled his eyes. “You said I could get this stupid thing off in six days. Today’s day six.”
The figure shook its skull I SAID TREATMENT COULD BE SIX DAYS OR SIX WEEKS…ORTHODONTIA IS NOT SOMETHING TO BE RUSHED. WHY ONLY A FEW MILLENNIA AGO SUCH TREATMENT COULD HAVE TAKEN YEARS. I WOULD HAVE TO EXAMINE YOU AGAIN TO DETERMINE IF IT IS TIME YET BUT I SUSPECT NOT.
The boy glared. “It’s too tight.”
IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE TIGHT. THAT IS THE POINT AFTER ALL. the annoyance was back.
Octavia watched the conversation if you could call it that with her head going back and forth between Cai and the dentist. The conversation seemed to end and she soon realised that the next words out of Cais mouth would doom her to hell. * Damn you Cai* she thought wishing he’d hear her own thoughts.
However he looked at Octavia as the boy added “Yeah. Right. It’s fine I’ll wait. It’s not like I’ve got anything better to do today anyway. Octavia can go first.” He said nodding at her and turning his attention back to his PaDD
The figure waited watching Octavia with its grinning expression GOOD AFTERNOON I AM DOCTOR BLACK. HOW CAN I ASSIST YOU.
Cai and Dr Black
Octavia was frozen, after all she’d never in her now two lives met Dr Black, not even Goven had a memory or experience to share so she just starred her mouth agape and her eyes wide. After a little longer than perhaps normal she snapped out of it and she felt like kicked or punching Cai for putting her in this situation, not that it was really his fault but she’d totally get him back, “Ye… Yes sir” She answered he brain somewhat unable to comprehend his question and then, “Check… Check-Up for.. My teeth” and she found herself pointing to her teeth.

The boy grinned, without looking. Apparently he was very aware of what he had just done.
The figure seemed genuinely delighted. MOST CERTAINLY. I DO APPRECIATE SOMEONE WHO TAKES CARE OF THEIR TEETH WITHOUT PROMPTING. PLEASE COME THIS WAY.
He stepped back leading the way into the examination room. Like the majority of this dental suite the area was decorated in greys and blacks. The biobed in the Center of the room was jet black and configured like a reclining chair. The room was bare of decoration save for a rather large scythe which hung on the wall. Purely decorative. Of course
HAVE A SEAT. IS THIS YOUR FIRST VISIT TO A DENTAL OFFICER IN THE LAST YEAR? he asked as he himself lowered his towering frame onto a stool by the chair.
