Willow’s exclamation made Zoi’s head snap up automatically towards the Ready Room but she quickly calmed down as she realized that it was a happy surprise, not an emergency. She followed Dira, taking a look at the woman’s shape before her before reorienting herself to the Captain and wondering what pleasant surprise had been done for her by the engineers at Star Fleet.

OOC: Fun side note for club history, back when Fleet Seven had just been initiated, I think one of the ships - maybe the Genesis, maybe the Polaris, can’t quite remember which - actually did a Jurassic Park inspired sim. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Nick

As both women entered they would see the large fish tank built into the wall where it appeared the fish from her old office, a gift on the owie refit, had been transplanted and were swimming around happily. It wasn’t a big deal but somehow it made the office feel more like hers.

Ooc: I actually think I remember that Nick! Lol we should do dinos Geoff! :p

Dira reached out and rested a hand on Willow’s shoulder as the captain took in her new office space. “Welcome home, Captain Taylor,” she said softly, knowing full well how much this meant to her. After what had been a rather traumatic escape from the subspace bubble to have looked at the ship that had been your home and see it, if not in pieces, utterly wrecked had to have been heartbreaking. Yes, a ship was just a ‘thing’. It was the people that made it something, but at the same time it was rare to find any well-adjusted crew member in Starfleet that didn’t feel connected to their ship in some small way. After all, they were flying about the galaxy in a container of sophisticated metal. It was rather absurd if you really thought about it. But they did exactly that and it meant that the ship was their safety, their safe haven. Their first job for this USS Ogawa was to ensure it felt just as safe and home-like as its predecessor.

Willow smiled and moved to inspect the tank somewhat in more detail. She couldn’t figure out how to get food into them…where was the little opening. After a few moments of looking she gave up, it was a job for later and returned to the bridge.

“Right. First mission. Everyone needs to find their way to their quarters and back against for their next duty shift without getting lost once. After we accomplish that well accept whatever command throws at us.”

She then sat back in her chair and pressed the ship wide channel button.

“Executive Officer, guess that’s me, huh?” Dira said with a wicked grin. “I’ve got my work cut out for me, so with your permission, I’m going to go find my new office and see about settling in.” As much as it would be an intense amount of work getting the ships and crew ready for deployment, Dira was decidedly excited about it.
