“Who’s that?” he asked as he began to close up his bag. he repacked everything both exactly as it had been but with a quickness that could only have come from practice and repetition. He stood and put the bag back in it’s place and then sat back down. “So… do we need to talk about what happened? Or do you want to pretend this is a just another nice, normal date. Which I guess it could be for you. Some folks have some kinks you just can’t explain.” and he grinned.

Kane

“The character of an early 21st century movie franchise. He was supposed to be some kind of super spy and travelled around the world. Where ever he went, stashed in the most convenient places, there were always bags of weird and mundane tech inside. And there was always a girl, caught in the middle.” She watched him put the bag back to rights and put it away. “We probably should because I might be weird but today was not normal. And I don’t even know what that means. And the way you’re grinning makes me think I don’t want to know.” She looked at the pills in her hand, finally remembered, and put them on the table next to the water. He said shower first and something about clothes to sleep in…
Bonner

“Ok.” he said and took a seat across from her. “So first question. I know you were in shock and panicked, but I have to ask you… did you see or do you know what happened when I came in?”

Kane

Alexis looked towards him, but not at him, her gaze far away. “I remember a flash of light. I assume that was the door opening and closing. And a loud thud.” She shook her head trying to recall, “I don’t remember anything else. Except my own panic and a roaring in my ears and feeling like I was going to be sick.” And the certainty that she was going to die. She understood, outside of the incident, she was not, but no matter how much she might analyze her phobia, in the midst of it, there was no rationality or logic. She turned her gaze on him, “But if the marks on the wall by my bed room door and in the corridor are any indication, you beat the h&#% out of him.”
Bonner

Kane grinned wickedly but with some pride. “Yeah… more than a little. He had pushed Frigga out of your quarters and she came and got me. So… walked in, saw Douchebag McGillicutty standing there and the dark room. So I took the chance that he wasn’t some romantic competition and wasn’t supposed to be there and bounced him off a few walls and the floor and threw him out in the passageway. It also helped he was wearing that stupid-a$$ black and grey uniform those bastards always strut around in. The rest I’m pretty sure you remember. So now the question is… why was he there?”

Kane

Alexis reached down and pet Frigga’s head several times. “He said he wasn’t finished with me yet. That I was going with him, and if I chose to go he would make sure I had all the work my mind wanted. That my mind was the only asset I had and to not turn his offer down. I told him I wouldn’t help him.”
Bonner

Kane listened and then he growled, deep in his throat. He stood up and said “Relax. I’ll be right back.” and he went to the bedroom and shut the door.

Alexis gaze moved quickly to his as he growled. Frigga whined softly and laid down rolling to her back. They both watched him leave the room. Alexis was pretty sure she hadn’t made him mad, but it had been a very strange day. She knew that as a doctor she really should be upset that Kane had hurt someone but she just couldn’t bring herself to. She was grateful, and as Solomon said, he was Soulis’ karma.

He went to the closet and reached up and back above the closet door and tugged and the sound of adhesive giving way was faintly heard. He took down a small object… a combadge. But it wasn’t a standard one. This one looked like the Star Fleet symbol was made out of jet. He tapped it once and said =/\= This is Kane. An agent arrived on this vessel and tried to coerce a member of this crew into working with him. Name’s Soulis. Damn near assaulted the crew member and drove her into a free-fall panic by manipulating a phobia… so I beat him to a pulp. You tell him I’ll do it again, too, if he doesn’t back the hell off. And the next time either I or that person ever lays eyes on him? =/\= and he looked at the door.

=/\= You tell him if either one of us sees him again I’ll f^%$ing kill him. Out. =/\=

He put he combadge back and went back into the living room. He looked at Alexis and said “I don’t know if he will harass you again. BUt if he does… he has to deal with me too. Now… go get in the shower. Sleep clothes are on the bed.”

Kane

“He will. He takes what he wants and discards the rest.” She stood up stiffly, with a suppressed groan and the tension headache throbbing with the movement. She went into the shower, grabbing the clothes on her way. Frigga looked from one to the other but settled next to Kane’s feet eyes riveted on the door where Alexis had disappeared.

A hot shower later, she did her best to towel dry her hair. But it reached to her lower back and that was a lot of hair to towel dry. She opted not to braid it; the tightness needed to keep it up though would probably aggravate the headache. The faded grey t-shirt was long on her and loose, which was fantastic for her stuff muscles. But the shorts were a problem. They were too big and tightened enough to kind of stay on if she didn’t walk around too much. At least the shirt reached, barely, past mid thigh. She debating whether she she should just go back to her quarters, but she didn’t want to be there, and he said he wouldn’t argue over it, she was staying. And she felt better, safer, here than alone. Finally she came out, in his t-shirt, hair down her back, looking totally exhausted.

Kane’s eyes widened slightly and his pupils noticeably dilated when she came in. Kane stood up and nodded and said “Ok. Meds and water, then bed. Here you go.” and he handed her the pills and the glass of water.

“Gotta say… you wear that better than I ever have.” and he chuckled.

Kane

She took the pills and looked at them a long moment because she was tired and something was nagging in the back of her mind, and not because she was unsure or hesitating. She slipped them under her tongue and then drank the whole glass of water, letting it wash the pills down with it. She set the glass on the table, looking everywhere but him. She smiled a little though. She wasn’t unaware of how he’d looked at her, she just didn’t know how to respond. She needed something to focus on other than what was going on with Soulis and his ‘project’ and all of that. “You said you were going to show me how to shuffle the card deck, how to pull cards out.”
Bonner

“Later. You need some sleep.” and he put his hand lightly on her back and ushered her into his bedroom. He looked back at Frigga and patted his leg and she came as well.

He pulled back the blanket and said “C’mon. Time to rest.”
